@Elricaltovilla, As of my last post, Xia and Alynaia followed the Halcyon after it jumped. So if you want to have found us - and by extension the Halcyon and the Steelthorns - it's going to need 1 AP spent. Or you can call us and we - well, Xia at least - will come to you.
I'm just trying to give you guys some interaction.
1. Acantheis/Starseeker weren't looking for you, they just stumbled across you.
2. I said when I created Starseeker that it could move at arbitrarily high speeds (i.e. speed of plot) so it was doing an outward spiral from the core of the three suns in order to catalogue everything in the void.
3. If you still want me to spend 1 AP then I'll just go back and delete that section of my post. But it seems kind of silly to me.
EDIT:
4. Acantheis wouldn't now to call for Xia or anyone else because he hasn't met you yet.

Hrm...ah fair enough. As long as this isn't a regular thing - mainly as I don't really see Starseeker finding the Halcyon or the Sisters by chance considering how vast space is. This once though for the sake of interaction, sure.

I'm pretty sure a god can trap a mortal even if they can teleport. If nothing else I can use AP to do it. And I never said I was going to like corrupt them straight up. I was thinking some would begin to follow Ensirex. I do plan on making some followers of my own, but Ensirex isn't really the type to necessarily go looking for followers like that.

Ah missed that. Happy to fix it, but before I do would having a bonus ability be within the boundaries of a relics power?
To clarify, the relic would allow you to have one more ability than max, but you'd still have to expend the AP to get the ability (meaning nine AP for one ability over the maximum for a diety of that type.) Should a player lose the relic and no longer be able to support all of their abilities, they must lose one. But can restore it later once they do have room for two AP. I think it sounds pretty reasonably balanced. Thoughts from mods?

That was a joke, but in all seriousness. I would prefer if you didn't take any. They are not an average race of mortal humanoids, or humanoids for that matter. They are powerful aberrations with strange ways of thinking.
Hey, I was curious to get back into Lords of creation after a three month hiatus. Apologies to the people I left hanging in the game I helped moderate, life just got really busy at that time.
I was curious, has the concept of dreaming been picked up yet? I seem to have a reccurring theme of dreaming in every LoC game I am in.

Yes, I picked dreams up. Dreams are a way into the past, a road taken by the sleeping mind through The Vast Gate.
1 - Elric, how are starskiffs going to get into the underdark when the largest cave mouth that leads to it is 20 feet in diameter? If you can answer that, then feel free to have some Quartzians meet the Vahnatai.
2 - Seeing how Draken included a bit of specificity on the Psionic powers of the Ing, I guess I'll say that Vahnatai natural psionics are the Telepathy powers, Direct Force powers from Psychokinesis, and self-targeted Psychometabolism powers.
3 - I'm going to say here that I'm going to be making Vampires soon, as an extension of the "Darkness in every soul" thing I just did.

Darklord, I'm gonna say that you have to spend 5 AP to alter my Cosmic Decree like that if you want it to affect every single mortal being (Which includes non-sentient ones).
Otherwise it just affects your creations.

Wow, obviously I missed these when they were first posted, but let me quote the rules -
Steam Punk no matter how advanced would always be advanced not magical - so have fun with your dirigibles (Same goes for each other punk variant, such as clockpunk, biopunk, cowpunk. EXCEPT for cyber punk - that will be a legendary concept). Advanced Concept can add +1 to mortal combat
In my book, lasers and railguns are solidly, singularly, cyberpunk.
I wasn't trying to make them steampunk. I was well aware that they probably weren't. However, lasers and railguns are definitely modern, or would be if we had better power sources. Hence, as we have a legendary concept to power them with already, they're still only advanced.
A more logical chain of reasoning, I hope?

1. They aren't. The crew is parking the ship outside a cave mouth, setting up a base camp, then heading inside.

Please direct your attention to the next generation of US navy destroyers for military usage of railguns today.
As for lasers...the only reason we don't use them is because they suck in anywhere but vacuum due to the sheer amount of power needed to punch a beam that will actually harm its target through the atmospheric interference (Inverse-square sucks).
They're both modern concepts, one of which exists today and the other of which we were capable of twenty/thirty years ago.
We just scale them up - as C'nor says - through the use of a Legendary concept power source. Which is all we really need to get the lasers to work in atmosphere and seriously amp up the power of the railguns.
Edit: Also, C'nor, would you like Xia to say "Hi" to crystal-man or would you prefer the honour?

The physics of weapons in space is a lot more complicated than you make it out to be. Especially if you add all the issues of cooling the ship into the mix.
Yeah, that's a fun link. And yes, it's right. And yes, I know I'm vastly oversimplifying.
But considering the game we're playing, I'm going to call divine magic on most of the issues raised within that article. Because:
1. The Halcyon itself is an Artifact and can therefore just have the required capabilities built in.
2. If I actually went into that level of detail posts from me would turn out at pages in length and take far too much time for me to write.
It's not so much I can't be bothered as I just don't have the time. And I don't want to make each of my posts huge walls of text.

Right because who wants to read a sci-fi novel in the middle of a god game
I think its fine to hand wave a lot of that stuff by saying a wizard did it, so long as you understand the physics behind what you're hand waving.
But with regards to the tech level of the relativistic weapons and lasers? They are beyond our current capability.
We can make lasers, but not well enough to weaponize them here or in space. We can make gauss cannons, but they are purely experimental and unlikely to be deployed for decades.

Well, in this case a god did it, but yes I understand. And I do know the physics I will - to a point at least - be violating horribly later.

I would argue that yes, we can - or we could - if the powers that be decided that it was required on the lasers front. I know it's not simply a matter of power - in all honesty I probably should have asked for particle weaponry instead if I wanted to use that argument (although I would have had to dance very carefully around the miniaturization issue, as well as a few others). But I am of the opinion that if humanity put its mind to it, we could weaponize lasers - at least in space - quite quickly. And the problem wouldn't be the theory. It would be the infrastructure and scale of such a project - but still possible comparing its size to others.
As for railguns - which are not and never will be guass cannons (guass weapons are just a fancy name for coilguns, which operate on totally different princibles to railguns) - we have them working. Yes, they're experimental. But we've had numerous known test firings of models ranging up to 33 MJ.
For the ones on the Halcyon, I'm calling Artifact on the lasers and railgun rails (to prevent them subliming when we fire), and Legendary Concept for power.
Again, this is all vastly simplified, but I hope it gets across the basics.

Excuse me for mixing up the terminology. In my experience "gauss weapons" was a catch all term for magnetically accelerated weaponry. I didn't realize there was a specific distinction.

I understand the basics well enough. I made a "railgun" one summer for funzies. It wasn't even close to effective

Question: Did it explode/partially vaporize on firing?
If not, you did better than most.

Neither am I. I just did some classes at uni. And read a lot. And then go out and find out if what I read about is possible. And then read more. And the - you see where this is going, right?

Ah, that would make sense.
It's a fun concept, but the implications for when it becomes mainstream military tech are...extreme. For one thing, the air force just about ceases to exist in the conventional manner...

Might I recommend taking Psychometabolism out of that list?
There are six psionic disciplines and this way we can associate two disciplines to each of the brothers (Gjol Maduur: Telepathy and Psychokinesis [The mind and Control/Violence]; Ing'dras: Clairsentience and Psychoportation [Time and Space]; Arlom: Psychometabolism and Metacreativity [Personal and Foreign Shapes]).
Edit: Also, C'nor, would you like Xia to say "Hi" to crystal-man or would you prefer the honour?
*Shrugs*
I'm fine with either of them doing it, or both.

There should be some Common ground, since all mortals should probably be using Ing'dras written tongue.
Edit: Xondoure, as a fledgling god you can have one ability at most.
The main problem with sharing a written language is that the Quartzians weren't sending them letters.
@ Elricaltovilla: And the fire and smoke came from their entry into Sol Lumaria's atmosphere. A great deal of frictional heating is involved in such a decent.

Well... Based off your description of their arrival, I assumed they were travelling at speed and not slowing themselves down.
"...soared in on the currents of the Aether..." implies a certain level of velocity.
