Cardinal Yisek, one of Thrane's greatest advocates of peace, criticized the army, its generals, and the leaders of the Church of the Silver Flame for leading their people so easily to the slaughter. He spoke up against the Diet of Cardinals, hoping to negotiate for a new policy other than the "unending war until victory" that the Council had always proclaimed. He was initially successful in tempering attitudes but after a string of raids he was sidelined. He retired to Sharn in the winter of 955 YK. Now a decade later and into his nineties he hopes to try and broker a peace once again.
Captain Constantine Dannard, third son of Lord Wilbur Dannard who purchased his commission to captain after only two months serving under Colonel Horace ir'Wynarn, cousin (once removed) to the king. Dannard is an arrogant and supremely confident man in his mid 20s who cares nothing for the soldiers beneath him. Victories, in his mind, are the result of his superior planning and skill and losses are the fault of poor soldiers disobeying orders. His proudest possession is his magical shield bearing the ir'Dannard coat of arms from the days when his family still had some connection with royalty.
Lieutenant Jon Osprey is a racist who considers all non-humans as beneath his notice. Being given command of shifter irregulars might be considered an insult to a more intelligent man but Osprey is too stupid to take offence even when it isn't intended. Tactically he treats all troops in his command as heavy infantry and deploys then to fight head on any opponent that he sees.
Lieutenant Jermaine Willins is the more intelligent of the pair but lacks confidence. As a result he defers to his more experienced comrades and boot licks at anything his superior officers suggest. His command of the warforged is a challenge as he has always lead by intimidation and bluster, something that the warforged seem completely immune to.
Commands:
6 Breland light infantry
10 mercenary warforged heavy infantry
8 mercenary human light infantry
