Re: Døden kommer til deg (3.5, low magic, players wanted)
Here's the link to my character sheet. Still working on his background and such.

Re: Døden kommer til deg (3.5, low magic, players wanted)
Sheet again
Backstory:
Step 1: write five things about your character’s concept and background, five things that you think are the most essential parts of your character.
Spoiler
1)Dalla is a witch. She can see the bonds of fate tying all things to all things and can, to a limited degree, manipulate and draw power from them.
2)Dalla is not particularly well liked in the tribe. Her skill with a bow and as a hunter are well respected but she has always been seen as rather strange.
3)Dalla is the daughter of a serving woman, her father is unknown to any save her mother, though of course there are rumors.
4)Dalla supports herself by hunting, though she spends as little time in the forests as she can.
5)Though good with a bow and possessed of astounding reflexes, Dalla is not a formally trained warrior.
Step 2: List two goals for the character that you, as a player, think would be cool to see accomplished in-game.
Spoiler
1)I would like to see her gain some measure of acceptance of her powers in the community. At least proving she can be useful enough to not run out of town or something.
2)I would like to see her confront and defeat some variety of witch hunter.
Step 3: List two secrets about your character. One is a secret the character knows, one is a secret that involves him but that he is not actually aware of yet.
Spoiler
1)Obviously, the fact of her witchdom is also a secret from everyone.
Bonus)Dalla is not welcome in the forests. The powers(Fey? Elementals? Spirits?) which rule there have expressed to her in the universal language of assasination attempts that they do not want her around. She must still enter the woods to make her living, but she does so as infrequently as possible and almost never spends the night there. She doesn't know the exact reason for this, but she is aware that it is true. She would probably keep this secret even if she is outed as a witch, the appearance of weakness would be a bad thing to have in that situation.
2)Her father is one of the tribe's most honored warriors.
Step 4: Describe three people that are tied to the character though blood, romance or honor. Two of them are friendly to the character, one is hostile. All can do something useful for you, if you can get the situations to line up. If you like, you can include an enemy of yours here as well, so I have an instant NPC nemesis to throw at you.
Spoiler
1)Gisli Hognison is a butcher. He pays Dalla well for the meat she brings in and has always treated her fairly in spite of her odd reputation.
2)Otarr Stoti is an aged soldier and scout. He's far past his fighting years, but, for reasons of his own he took it upon himself to teach Dalla how to use a bow when she was younger.
3)Gizar Arison is another hunter. He and Dalla are involved in an old and rather pointless argument about exactly who a deer belonged to. Their competition on the matter is exactly as petty as it is pointless.
Step 5: Describe three memories that your character has. They don't have to be elaborate, but they should provide some context and flavor.
Spoiler
1)The ball was in the tree. Such a little thing, yet so very significant in the mind of a child. The thought of varying degrees of importance did not enter the child's head, instead her mind was rapidly crystallizing upon a single overriding idea.
I want it.
The air was still, the tree calm, the ball remained stoically indifferent to the child's desires.
I Want it.
A wind began blowing, the tree rustled into motion. The ball remained inanimate.
I WANT it.
The wind rushed, an old, decaying branch snapped, the ball went bouncing to the ground. A child walked off, filled with joy once more.
2)Standing as he had shown her. Each foot placed carefully, each movement synchronized with the flow of shadows. The forest was never still and neither was she, every shift in stance and every minor movement giving the impression of stillness where its actuality would declare her presence as surely as a blaring siren.
The target was ahead, a deer.
A bow was raised, not forcing its way through the dense brush but merely moving as chance opened the space ahead of it.
Treated wood sought its natural form. A knotted cord was flung forward. An arrow flew. She would eat well tonight.
3)
I'm still short one memory but I figure I have a bit of time left to come up with something.
Goodberries: (8d4)[20] (She casts the spell on days when she doesn't have anything else to do with her magic and tries to keep a stock on her at all times.)
Re: Døden kommer til deg (3.5, low magic, players wanted)
Just a by the way, I don't think I'll be able to join this excellent Viking game. I'm basically a little too swamped with stuff to do at the moment, and don't have time to sit down and pull out PDF's of rule books for character gen. To that, I apologize, but I wish you all the best in this Viking game.
Re: Døden kommer til deg (3.5, low magic, players wanted)
Is that a no on the Spirit Shaman? I've got a couple other ideas to toss around, but I was interested in the old man in skins spirit healer type if there was a place for it in the setting.
