Ok, IC post is up. I'm not expecting this to be a long drawn out fight, since I'm assuming that y'all are going to run, but since I never actually know what you're going to do, I figured I'd better throw up a map just in case.
The black rectangles are windows that overlook other areas of the ship below. Let me know if anyone plans on jumping through one of them.
Also, for the moment, I'll be treating Thrull and Karl as allied NPCs, so I'll roll attacks and such for them, but feel free to yell out orders if you want them to do anything in particular. They'll act after the enemies.
Wait what the frakking hell just happened. I can't check the thread for a couple hours and suddenly asldjkfh.
*facepalm*
Not that it matters much, but Eltain should be at the other side of the table, he was between Shep and Thrull. (Plus being left handed it's better to be at the corner for politeness.)

Eltain does go before Shep in initiative, so he will make a pathetic feeble attempt to keep Shep from signing.
Strength check: (1d20+7)[13]

Eltain is looking at you with sad puppy dog eyes and snowing so very morosely and he's crying a little and grabbing at you with all his pathetic strength. You must.

Ok, I'm going to ask Shep/Eltain/Ash to hold off on posting IC for a day until the other players have a chance to react.
I think Zyrr is the only other PC who has an init higher than Shep, so if y'all really want to try and stop Shep from signing, Zyrr's the only one with a shot at it (unless Aramil takes an opportunity attack against Shep).
However, talking is a free action, so...there's always that.
Swords can do things. Like impale the paper, stopping it from going any further. Attack - (1d20+23)[38] Damage - (1d8+16)[20]... if it's needed to see if it actually pierces the paper, in case it's just that crazy-tough.

That'll do it. My guess is this is going to result in a badass IC post where Aramil is all *bam.* *sword*
Huh, I guess that's right. My mental picture of what happened didn't coincide with what happened IC. Mando, how does that change what you did? That's still a great roll, if you'd like to keep it.
And does anyone else get the idea that Haberdashery is really trying to kill off Shep?
I'm not trying to kill him off specifically. If he ends up dying, then he ends up dying. I just think this makes for a good story, and a somewhat unexpected turn of events, and I think it's very in Shep's character to die for the people he loves.
