She's been saying things in her language here and there, both during fun times of fun and in more tranquil moments. She comes back in jammies with a little happy cloud on the shirt, bringing a pair of Rachel's sleepwear along as well; in addition, the alien girl brought a nice blanket.
Sophie takes a bit to crawl up the couch and onto Kate's lap, but then reads the ad.
"Honestly, this looks like an evil plan. It goes on about the masquerade aspect, but that can be waved off as the person really wanting to have a Halloween masquerade. The overall creepiness is similarly written off by saying that it's a Halloween event and the person is just good at advertising, but there are two things I notice that should be bright red flags."
"First, at the very end he says he has evil cackling to do. Red flag. I know it seems too stupid to be true, but this is the nexus. The impossible is every day here."
"Second, it's taking place at an abandoned casino. As far as I know, there is only one notable casino in inside, and it just so happens that it's been out of business for a bit now... the Gambling League of Gambling, run by the world's most successful business cyborg."
"Oh my goodness... MaGLoG is more or less the only place that matches that description. I should have thought of that. I mean, I noticed the threat of evil laughter but I hadn't really taken that seriously. Of course, as soon as it became a serious consideration I should have re-read it seriously."
Kate's Apartment
"Okay, but that can't be Magtok, because that's not his texty-thing. I remember, he was up a few things and he writes in grey. It's probably in his casino, but I bet you anything someone else is hosting it. Besides, we won't know if it's jokey evil or evil evil unless we go, and it's going to kill me if I miss out on something like this. If you're not up to going, I might just go it alone."
Rachel gives a slight chuckle at Alilia's reaction.
Just some thunder. Don't worry. It can't get in here.
You don't have many storms back in your home?
She shakes her head.
Not like thats... just li'l spinny ones...
She relaxes a bit, knowing her cool, collected bride will keep her safe from the evil loud noises.

She nods, arm around Rachel's waist under the blankets, and finishes her cocoa.
I think tronaders is bigger... ones back home littler, like tel'phone pole.

That last little phrase, one word more an odd exhalation and the other oddly kept at the back of the throat, has come up in this context quite often lately.

Kate is quiet for a moment. She looks at mintbalm, then back at the ad. "I think I'll go, too, if you help me fix my costume."
Sophie shrugs. "Have fun, you two. I don't have a costume, anyway."

"But if you don't go then you'll be leaving me to get gobbled up by evil culti- wait, wait... wait. You're going? Yay!" Mintbalm uses what momentum she can build up to try to tacklehug Kate despite them being side by side on the couch. She is a bit offput by Sophie refusing, but she supposes that Kate and Sophie probably don't go out together all that often.
"Can I see your costume? If I'm gonna help fix it I guess I kind of have to."
Kate yeeps in surprise, having not expected that. Sophie, on the other hand, reflexively jumps off of Kate's lap... and winds up near the top of the far wall.
"What the-how did I jump this far?"
Kate takes a moment to regain her composure and then says, "It's in my closet, just let me up and I'll show you."
