Hooray for Mimic! I hope you don't mind, I am playing Shryke's use of the talent as having some kind of a mechanical voice-box as opposed to just being naturally talented.
Awareness check: (1d100)[100] (vs. 17, +10 if the test is visual)
Awareness test(Only in case it's needed for the new, beast-pens, area. If not, since I had rolled one for the initial area, in my previous IC post, please disregard it).
(1d100)[95] vs 70 (Per + Auspex bonus + Skill at [+10])
EDIT: Blessed Ignorance eh?

No luck, ChaoticSky! You may consider FPing the Blather of Common Lore test. FPs renew on an in-game daily basis but it's up to you of course. Otherwise, it all rests on Gideon's keen eye ;)
After some search I found out that I have 2 remaining Fate Points, so I'll spend one [3/4], to reroll the above (failed) Scrutiny test, in hope of getting a better result and perhaps discerning something more, that could be useful in our current situation.
Scrutiny re-roll: (1d100)[26] vs 35
EDIT: Hey, it actually worked.

IC post tomorrow, i'm currently dancing on the head of a painkillers-and-alcohol pin.
I'll have what he's having.
Happy Friday everyone. Please forgive my lack of an update. It's been a long day but I'll get one up tomorrow. I hate to break my own 'post a day' rule.

Marcus sees through Ingron's attempted deception:
Quote:
1) "What illicit augmentations are you referring to? As you can see, we don't have the workshop here to add any illegal additions to a cyber-construct. Nor do we have the specialized labor do do such a task." Ingron finished, waiving his hand around the room dismissively.
2)Ingron's jaw clenched tight, a vein bulged from his neck. "Fine. Have it your way." He gestured for a nearby man to step closer. "Porthal will answer any questions you have. For the record, we don't sell to third parties. We only move beasts between Circuses as needed. Everything we get dies in the pits - no escapes." He glared at Shryke. "You'll excuse me, I have a business to run." He turned and stomped off without another word.
1) He first tried to legitimize his deceit with a misleading conclusion feigning ignorance of the nature of the augmentations referred to.
2) Facial ticks betray this wholesale lie, and if he's lying about selling creatures off, falsified rosters showing deaths that never occurred in the cage is the easiest way to make beastly inventory disappear.
------------------------
Babbles and Gideon, I'm afraid that's a whole lot of failed tests. Aria has a feeling that the noble is being misleading about the Auction in some manner. Please feel free to continue the conversation if you seek to dig deeper. Aria might even talk too . If you want to know their name, the Lore test was a miss, so asking seems a logical next step.
------------------------
Porthal described the symptoms of sickness among the Broscoraptors. They don't match up with what you saw, especially the inability to move.
I'll add here since I failed to do it in IC, Porthal describes the Carnosaur as a monstrous creature. Reptilian and brutal, the Circuses get a hold of one only rarely and use it for the main event when they can fill one of the largest arenas.
They usually save such occasions for days of note: like the Feast of the Emperor's Ascension coming up, when the crowds will be packed with all of the work-shifts halted for a day.
I assume that Shryke shouldn't bat an eye at there being human remains in the pile - I'm guessing places like this own the bodies of the people who die in the pit? If that's a bad assumption and this is a Suspicious Thing, please tell me.
I'll conduct another search of the cage, according to what Septimus said, and also in case there's anything else to be discerned from there, other than what we already know (about the secret compartment below it).
Search: (1d100)[89] vs 50 or 80 (Per + Lengthy Searches bonus if it applies + Skill at [+10])
EDIT: Nah...too much rotten meat in here.

Yeah I'm just calling it an efficient use of what they've got on hand. Welcome to the underhive! Don't try the hot dogs.
Right, Marcus' search had a positive modifier. Success. The latch to lift the flooring was easily found. It looked like they depended on the disgusting stench of the meat to defend the latch merely by assaulting the senses of any nearby.
It lifts upwards and should be easily done.
HOWEVER, Ingron now knows the jig is up. Escalation is going to ensue. Feel free to decide how best to proceed OOC. Interaction skills could make the difference here for the workers and pit fighters who are unsure of the situation.
There are 6 pit fighters and a dozen workers - some are quite young and others only have hand tools as weapons if it comes to it.
My line of inquiry was intending to dig deeper into the procurement of the beasts, making the (not unreasonable) assumption that they were from the circus, and the (rather less reasonable) assumption that they were brought there recently.
Is there a test i can make to see if i recognise him, now i know he's of House Krin?
In truth, Gideon does not recognize the man or his name which indicates he's a lesser son - a nobody within the great house. This ties in with Aria's hunch on his truthfulness earlier and two things important to most nobles: standing and appearance.
Ok, first off, man do my maps look ghetto. If anyone has a decent program for map creation, I'm all ears.
Currently, Marcus and Shryke are just under the secret cage. Pyrrhus is at its entrance. The three just to the NW of the yellow cage are the now loose mantids.
There are some engaged in combat with beasts and some running.
Porthal is in one of the cage entrance ramps while Ingron and the Ogryn flee down the catwalk towards the stairs that go up and out towards the Circus Entrance. The other set of stairs on the left of the catwalk join the catwalk to the floor level with the cages.
Excuse the haste, Halloween and all Please hit me with any questions and feel free to post actions. I'm sure I've missed more than one detail. The width of each individual us approx 1 meter for reference. It seems possible to simply seal yourself in the secret cage to avoid the worst of the pandemonium. That is, unless your name is Gideon & Aria.
1. Are you going to roll initiative for everyone, or are you waiting for people to roll themselves? (I find it's best to make a bulk roll at the start of combat myself - cuts out a round of posting and lets the action happen faster).
2. Much more importantly... did the cages open for the three beasties downstairs?
1) I prefer the bulk route if everyone's ok with it:
Shyrke:(1d10+4)[10]
Marcus:(1d10+3)[10]
Pyrrhus:(1d10+3)[5]
Gideon:(1d10+5)[11]
Aria:(1d10+3)[12]
2) No, the three's cage isn't tied to whatever mechanism Ingron utilized.
**Quick note: Could everyone PM me a wishlist of items they desire for their character that might show up fortuitously. Also on the list, include any background linked occurrences you'd like to see to further your characters's growth/story AND anything else you can think of. I can't guarantee all of these will occur but I like to know what my players would like to see.
