You read the title. This is the master thread for everything Versus. Here we can discuss anything about the Versus contests, including suggestions, and keeping track of the upcoming Versus Tournaments!
Versus Tournaments will be a group of similar classes, usually about 8 of them, that will be competing to see which is the best class in that category!
Following the theme of suggestions, the Versus tournament was actually suggested by a few of the people on Versus #4.

How are you defining "gish" for the purpose of this thread? Does a cleric count? It does get martial and spellcasting abilities? What about a wizard? A wizard 20 can be decent at melee. Druid? Artificer?

Let's say casting and at least medium BAB advancement (Ends with 15 on its own). Also Max BAB. Obviously can't leave that out.

Okay, so if we ignore the tier 1 classes and psionics, we have:
Bard
Paladin
Ranger (and the mystic version)
Factotum
Duskblade
Warlock (if we count SLA as spells)
Hexblade
Spellthief
Favoured Soul
Healer
And unless I am mistaken those are the only classes eligible under the current rules. So we need to eliminate 2.

I was using the tier list, because I couldn't be bothered to go through all my books. Now that I think about it there are some divine ones from OA and the dragon magazine compendium. There are probably quite a few dragon magazine I missed since I don't own a single copy. What else did I miss that's noteworthy?

Oh yeah. Still I think tiers 1 and 2 should be excluded (and I doubt battle sorceror is enough of a nerf to drop the class down a tier), since their RAW power would focus the tournament on specific spell combinations, and I think there are enough threads that already do that.
