The tour of Hyrogi Compound is being generated now -- was trying to wait for Cardea. No matter, the necromancer is so surprised she's just being totally silent!

Not as big a reveal as you may think. But I think I've covered all the dialogue options y'all may arrive at, so hopefully I won't ever be stumped for what to write.

So we went from five to two. The Shade has altered the past so the prophecies properly reflect this fact. Big Brother Loves You.
Yes, I believe I've only retained you two. I could speak with the two other applicants, but it's so likely they'd also leave due to the terrible pacing. In fact, I'm surprised y'all haven't.
Once you two go to speak with Smarx, Chapter One will come to a close and Chapter Two will begin. You'll be fighting the Vampire Lord and beginning to make your dynamic duo way through the world in order to take down the nobs of the world. I've still got loads planned out so I'm hoping you're excited!
Also, let me go edit the first post to reflect your meeting of the Patchwork Man.

Lucretia, I hear you cry, twice glacier speed should be faster. That's how multiplication works, you silly biddy!
This is true.
But there's nothing more tiring than having 24 freshmen who you're responsible for and their parents. Why would anyone want to be a parent?!
Smarx will say hello soon. Clearly the corridor is super long. *shifty eyes*
My next post will be the epilogue for Chapter One, and if I can manage it before braining myself with an iron, the starting text for Chapter Two. The epilogue or Smarx's words will include the gold you have, as well as various options for what you can buy. If you'd care to have something more specific, you can definitely ask, but item-wise I'm going to be restrictive. The Omnicides only have access to certain sorts of magic, and defensive is really, really not something they invest time or money in. But yeah. That'll all happen soon.
This weekend should be great for writing, but thanks to this silly dance I get to attend without being allowed to wear a fancy dress, I might just collapse and die.
Wish me luck! I'm hoping y'all're doing well, though? Duos can be really successful, especially two so diametrically opposed as y'all. I'm rebalancing some of the things, like some of the puzzles in the Cathedral and such, but I think it's for the best. You two will be even more heroic because condensed heroism is great. So you both have like half a god in you, instead of five of you having a fifth.
What I'm saying is, whoever kills the other becomes a god.
*shifty eyes again*
But srsly, thanks for sticking around, and expect a proper update soon. Once my life stabilizes and all the orientation periods are over, we will definitely hit this with twice, or perhaps thrice, glacier speed. There's so much I want y'all to do and see in the capital! If you decide to go in stealthily -- i.e. not following the plan of the Patchwork Man -- you can explore and find a lot of interesting stuff. And if you decide to go in full-speed, well, it's like pursuing the dragons in Skyrim instead of doing the lumberjack stuffs -- it'll expedite the main storyline, but you won't be as powerful at the end.

Granted, I don't know what Smarx will tell us, but we both expressed interest in trying something other than the patchwork man's plan. Perhaps for slightly different reasons, but that seems to indicate that we will try looking around a bit. So maybe that will help in your planning.
Yeah, I didn't expect you to follow the Patchwork Man's plan. But you could always decide to try and go for it anyways! Players have that sort of power over their lives.
And thank you, the hunt is on!
EDIT: I'm sorry for the delay.

I am incredibly sorry for the gigantic delay. I doubt y'all're even still here! If you are, decide on which of the side quests you'd care to go on, or if you'd rather just assault the Vampire Lord head on immediately. Or feel free to conjecture what you'd care to do, and we'll see whether it's possible or not!
I'm still here. I've got to do some thinking on what to do next. The Cavern of the Water Worms catches my eye first as a good function for our purpose. The Deathbloom Copse would catch the eye of Galizur. The Twelve Crypts of Thrix catches my eye as something we should look into, the major problem being the description of traps. We have no one with trap-finding. Which means we have to do cheap things to bypass them...
Any thoughts Strainseir?

I had to plan out the various side quests in addition to herding cats-- er, freshmen.
The Cavern of the Water Worms will be super interesting! The Crypts as well! The Deathbloom Copse is probably one you'll want to avoid at the moment, it's a slightly higher level but all of them are (theoretically) doable at this point.

I'm thinking that may be the case. Oh well! If that's so, then it's up to YOU to save your new home, Courage the Cowardly Dog!
So you want to head to the Cavern of the Water Worm? And yes, you gained a level. You also got all the money! I think I told you how much coin Smarx had gathered, didn't I?

And I just want to make sure that you're interested in going for the Water Worms first, and not the sources of income nearby. Or any of the other places you could go to. It's important that there be no miscommunications!

Before I make a IC post he will be leveled.
And yes, the water wyrms would be where he would go first. Money isn't a big concern for dead man with no permanent body.;-)

Sorry, the blood amniote was designed for a full group. The DR 10 and fast healing 5 would have made that fight really, really long and really, really dull.
On down the eerie tunnel?
