I'd like to note that whenever I load a page on domain of www.giantitp.com (I frequent the forum every day without fail, unless I have internet problems) it is loading very slowly, sometimes taking a minute or two just to load a page. I've checked the load speed of other websites, they load within a few seconds. It's just this that is running slow.
I also seem to be getting the 'server is busy' page even more than usual as well.

I'm sure this seems slow to you guys, but back before 2009 we were crashing the server three times an hour, uphill both ways. It's a lot better these days.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it seems that the forums are slowing down again. I just spent the last ten minutes getting from the front page to this posting screen, with no page loading in less than a minute. The problem is not on my end of the line, since every other website I've checked works fine.
Not a complaint, just an FYI. I'm loving how smooth the forums have been since the three-day outage, so this is just me hoping for a swift return to the status quo. Pretty please with sugar on top?

From my end, it seems to be oddly related to a number of other sites, such as projectwonderful.com and perhaps some image-hosting.
As far as I can tell the forum itself is at roughly normal speed, though I could be wrong.

Indeed, I am having similar problems. All other websites are functioning fine, but the forums are loading extremely slowly. It will load up to a point, and then stop loading for 2-3 minutes, before loading the page fully.
My solution was to use RequestPolicy to block cross-site requests to the slow sites. Now speed is perfectly normal.
(Usually I have it set to allow all requests from giantitp.com, in order to view avatars and what-not, but in the interests of massive speed increases....)

For me, the page is loading the side bar and the little bit about the forum rules at the top, but the forums themselves don't appear until five minutes later. This happens even on pages like the user control panel (which to my knowledge host no images from other sites.)

Would it be possible to restructure the HTML so that the ad banners (especially the top one) are loaded last, rather than in order of content? Because, as has been pointed out above, whenever projectwonderful.com is down, each page of the forums takes up to minutes to load, even though most of the content is readily accessible.
