Twice Blessed: WordPress sucks and I am lame with technology

Hey everyone, writer of Twice Blessed here. Just thought I'd let you know that, due to a combination of WordPress sucking and my own shortcomings in web tech, I am currently locked out of most of the administration functions of my own website.

It is currently impossible to comment on the website, but feel free to discuss the latest comic pages or how much I suck here.

About that wordpress... i'm using that software as well (worked pretty well so far). If you locked yourself out i guess you'll have to get into the database via mysqladmin and do some manual fiddling. :/

That's what I think too. gadren, does your hosting allow you open up a terminal into Linux (or whatever OS your hosting uses) and let you run commands? Some of these fixes might be easier to do on the command line.
Edit: Also do you have any recent backups?

Yeah, I have backups but for some reason when I upload the backup I STILL can't get in which makes no sense. I remove the plugins and themes folders and I still can't get in, I can get in via FTP and MySQL but I don't really know what I'm doing or what commands to run... This has been a week now of futile attempts on my part, maybe I just need to delete the whole site and reupload what I've got an apologize for all the comments and stuff going down the tubes.

Nah, you don't need to delete the site. You just need to go to the user config part of the mysql table and reset your own password. The backup doesn't restore user settings, i suspect, so no matter how often you do that, it won't be touched.

Unless of course it isn't user related and you really need to set a new wordpress up and then import a full backup. (For the least hassle.)

If you cant get it t work restart the site. Until now i missed the problem banner, and unless you appear really soon you will have lost a large chunk of your readers.

If it's not dead, it's very, very calm...

But I'm not sure. I seem to find different "Last Pages," in different locations. I know it takes time to get a website unlocked and back to you, but three months or more? Why not just establish a new website and carry on? I really liked this strip, and want to know what happens next.

Oh, wait! I just noticed this at the top of his holding page:

NOVEMBER 27, 2012: The comic is not dead, its just that the concussion that I got back in September ended up forcing me to miss work for over a month and to miss a couple weeks of grad school, and I've been struggling to get my life back on track since then. I am hoping to get the site back up in December. Again, I hate to keep you all waiting, but I really do want to get things back on track soon.

Ouch! A whack to the noggin is nothing to mess with! Well, it looks like Twice Blessed WILL be back, and hopefully soon.
