Stuff up here (updating every update) With full statistics, Evolutions and Available Evolutions
So I only put the Changes, HP and Hunger (and Mana when you get it) in each update but you can quickly access the stats
Evolutions:
Spoiler
Evolutions Evolved: Sensation-DetectionI: Feel the movement in the water caused by other cells. Very nonspecific, mostly in general direction. +1 Perception(Sound) SizeV: Each size increase makes you bigger relative to the other cells in the area (min1, max10) Movement (Wriggle)I: You can wriggle from place to place. +1 Movement(Wriggle) Absorbing Membrane: Your membrane is porous and allows nutrients to flow into it. NOTE: Evolution Nullified SlamI: You can hit another cell as hard as you can for damage (+1 Attack, causes 1 damage to self if Absorbing Membrane un-nullified). Attack (Slam) unlocked Fast-Evolution: You evolve a lot faster than the norm, somehow working out which evolutions will result in being unviable and avoiding them Food-StorageI: Be able to hold nutrients to sate hunger and not die from being unable to support healing or standard cell-repair Omnivore: Able to eat anything and gain nutrients, no bonuses or penalties Splitter: When you have 1/2 or more of your total Hunger you can use up 1/4 of your Hunger to create 2 totally new creatures from your body, 1 with all your memories etc. and the other is a fresh-born. This lets you spend your gathered DNA on Evolutions
New Evolutions (from the starting stats): Mouth: 2DNA, an extended place on your membrane designed to absorb nutrients more easily by trapping a bubble around it and nomming it all up. Attack(Bite) unlocked Harden MembraneI: 2DNA, your membrane hardens to better protect yourself against attack or hitting something. +1 Toughness. Stops your ability to passively absorb nutrients through your skin Light-Sensing Patch: 1DNA, +1 Perception You begin to sense the presence or absence of light Discerning Patch: 2DNA, Your patch of light-sensing stuff gets more sophisticated, seeing if light comes from a specific direction or not. +1 Perception(Sight). Sensation-DetectionII: 2DNA, You can narrow down even more where you feel the currents impact you. +1 Perception(Sound). Flagellum: You grow a tail you can flick to propel yourself through the water. +1 Movement(Wriggle) Proto-BrainI: 4DNA, You have a single nerve running through your body you can trigger to cause sparks, somehow this makes you smarter. With this Evolution you can Name other creatures. +1 Intelligence ProtobrainII: You get even smarter, the nerve multiplying into a cluster of smaller nerves that can zap in loops and patterns. +1 Intelligence. Improved Enzymes: gain more DNA from food Delicious names: when you eat a living food source with a Name +1 DNA gained. Note that this only applies when there is DNA to begin with, if it gives +0 it will still give +0. Increased Horde 1: You can have up to 3 Allies along with you longer than temporarily. Any exceeding this number wanders off You are You: There is little variation between members of the Dalothuam, thus any Evolution granting Immunity to your own abilities grants Immunity against theirs (eg. Acid-Spitting, Electricity-Aura)
Buyable Evolutions: Elongate Mouth: 3DNA, Your mouth is longer, allowing you to take a bite out of foes without getting as close. +1 Dodge. Prereq: Mouth Mouth Acid: 2DNA, You fill your mouth with enzymes that devour whatever enters it, dissolving it like acid. +1 Attack(Bite). Prereq: Mouth Toughen MembraneI: 2DNA, Your membrane hardens again, becoming able to take harder hits. +1 Toughness. Prereq: Harden MembraneI Harden MembraneII: 2DNA, Toughening up your membrane to become even more dangerous when moving at high speeds. +1 Attack(Slam). Prereq: Harden MembraneII Triple-Splitter: 5DNA, you create 2 Freshborns instead of one, turning 1 cell into 3. Nest: 5DNA, You can make a home, required for the first timeskip. This nest allows you to split without losing Hunger. Prereq: ProtobrainI Shock: 3DNA, you channel the nerve's electricity over your mebrane, zapping anyone that touches you. Attack(Electric) unlocked Jaw: 3DNA, you can eat harder things, cutting through them with your reinforced mouth. Prereq: Eaten 3 types of food, Mouth ScentDetectionI: 5DNA, you can detect the presence and general source of smells. Prereq: ComplexityI Personal Names: 10DNA, you can name specific members of your species. Note that this does not give a Naming Bonus, but is a prereq for most civ-building Evolutions Increased Horde 2: You can have up to 5 Allies along with you longer than temporarily. Any exceeding this number wanders off Soul: 10DNA, You gain a Mana resource of 1 and a Recharge of 2 Hunger Loss (you gain 1 mana in the time it takes to lose 2 hunger). Prereq: Increased Horde I, Protobrain II
Known Evolutions: (Unable to be brought without Prereqs unattained)
There are more Evolutions but you have not unlocked them yet. Through Roleplaying, Generation Minimums or seeing/nomming on species with that ability.
Among other things I aint telling you
Undecided 1: Allied. This is you. You do not have a name. You DO however have the beginnings of a hard membrane, thick enough that you can no longer absorb random bits. The exception being your 'mouth' a small elongated bit.
You currently have a proto-mouth, proto-eye, tiny brain and a small, rigid tail.
Tibbits: Prey. Small cells, easily eaten. They possess no known attacks or defences and provide a rather large amount of DNA when eaten
Tibond: Neutral. Made up of lots of Tibbets this is the first multi-cellular life you've come across. Even though it's not really multicellular as much as it is a hive of Tibbets pressed together and molded into the required forms
Has a lot of spikes, a giant mouth and can swim faster than you, proportionally.
Spongee: Prey. A cell attached to the ground with 4 tendrils that are very delicious. When eaten they emit a weird sensation that blocks your Sensation Detection and summons a Guardian. Further upgrades may stop this disadvantage
Guardian: Unfriendly. A cell around your size. Possesses a healing ability it uses on the Spongees, you do not know how it does this or if it is only the Spongee that can be Healed.
Known Mechanics: Harden Membrane1, Slam2, Defence1
Hello and welcome to a Revival of the Spore games! I'm redoing some of the rules but most of it is staying the same, I'll be updating once a day, more if we have a bandwagon, less if there is a lack of voting
I have the ability to break ties in case there is one.
Right then Rules:
Spoiler
This iteration is a bit more rules-heavy when it comes to stats and things but is still fairly freeform.
First up: The stats and what they do Name: What your species is called. And your specific cell if we develop far enough to have Names DNA: The game currency that you use to buy Evolutions. You gain it from doing smart things (making a nest, having X amount of your Species), defeating enemies (killing the wriggly worms that are encroaching on your feeding grounds) or eating things (Like those yummy worms you just killed) Breeding Type: How you make more of you. Default is Splitter (turning 1 into 2) but anything is possible, from Infection to Eggs to Pregnancy. You spend Evolution points when you Breed (Unless you get a certain Evolution that is currently locked) Perception: How well you can spot disguised or hard-to-detect cells. Some Evolutions can negate your perception in various areas. Ink doesn't work if all your perception comes from Hearing but if you rely on Sight to the exclusion of all others you are going in on Perception0. NOTE: At the start of the game this is something that should be focused on because you can't detect much beyond "There is a big Thingy somewhere in a thata way direction" Toughness: How much you can shrug off a hit. Basically your DR and your AC together (for those who play D&D) Dodge: Can you avoid the attack? Or atleast let it glance you rather than smash head on. Doesn't work against as well against Area Attacks like a cloud of poison unless you could actually outrun it Movement: How fast and agile you are. This is actually lots of smaller Movement types but lets keep it simple for now. Different movement types (like Flagellum and Jet) can be used together for a cumulative bonus but some cant be combined (Like legs while swimming) Defence: What I roll attack against (1D3+Attack Vs 1D3+Defence {the dice goes up as your bonuses do but D3 is enough for right now}), this is Dodge + Toughness Attack: See Movement, split into many. It's still worth diversifying however, or you'll come across Immune enemies and be killed Hunger: How long you can take before needing to eat something. This is different than the old one in that Hunger decreases by in-game time not every post so Combat isn't deadly due to your metabolism becoming lethal-fast. You may convert HP into Hunger at a 1/1 ratio (but not the other way) but if you are at 0HP and 0Hunger and required to burn 1 Hunger you die from starvation HP: How much damage you can take. The amount taken is how much Attack wins over Defence. At 0HP you are unable to do anything but float in a general direction. at -1 you are dead. Mana: IF you decide to learn magic at a later portion of the game. This is optional but some enemies will learn it (unless there is a massive outcry against it then I'll delete it) Will: Defence against disorientation or being all confuzzled Intelligence: smart Tactics or things that need Smarts cant be done with a tiny amount of Intel Social: How good are you at coming off as whatever you want to come off as (Intimidating, in-command, whatever) Environments Livable: Where can your species live Species: Who do you know about, how do you see them and vice versa
Eating: Consuming nutrients from whatever is around. Gains Hunger and DNA
Eating a new type of thing (A new cell type for Carnivore, a different rock type for a Geovore etc) gives a 1off DNA bonus
Resting: Regain 1/2 your HP by snoozing and repairing. Costs 1/4 of your maximum Hunger because of the time spent repairing and doing nothing. This cost can be ignored if spent in a nest that has a ready source of food
Splitting: You create two new creatures. You, who keeps all your memories, and a 'freshborn' a cell with no memories but a basic knowledge of their abilities and who you are.
This costs 1/4 of your Hunger (1 at the beginning) and you need to have atleast 1/2 of your maximum to do this (2 at the start)
Naming: You can give a creature a Name, this gives a 2DNA bonus per creature named.
Combat: 1D3+Attack Vs 1D3+Defence. +/- circumstance bonuses or tactics
Any Attack over Defence is dealt as HP Damage
Evolution: this messes with your stats and abilities. You can buy Evolutions for the listed price or sell brought ones for 1 less DNA than you brought them for. Some Evolutions can't be sold and you can never get a negative amount back. You also cannot sell a Prerequisite Evolution without also selling the ones based on it
Introduction. And PLOT ZOMG! (Not necessary for the game)
Spoiler
You come into existence slowly, feeling yourself all around you. But, something is off? Like your form is slowly shrinking, simplifying. All your features disappearing from your mind and body as ethereal voices echo into your head
"Are you sure this will work? I mean it may hold the capabilities to be us but what if the fast-track of evolution messes with it's choices?"
"Relax Johnson it'll be leaping up the evolutionary track following exactly our path, I promise. With slight variation of course but there is a mere tiny chance that......."
You can't hear it anymore, your brain disappearing as you squirm around and you blink. What was that? You can't...quite...remember.
What are you again? You cant see, or feel or...There something moved, you felt it on your...membrane?
A sudden flash of understanding jolts through you as you wriggle your single cell. You suddenly get a rather intimate knowledge of your tiny body.
That organ makes yummy stuff into bits of you, that bit helps you make another one of you... But there are all these little bits and pieces that don't do nothing yet. Hmm.
You move around more, somehow detecting a small wriggling cell, tiny in comparison to you and loom over, feeling it try to squirm away as you absorb it, your internals quickly making it from yummy wriggling something into a not-so wriggling nutrient source. (+5DNA)
You feel a hard thing under your membrane and the soft swirl of a current sending you signals of a few more floating cells and something that feels like its attached into the hard thing
What do you do.

You are evolving the same monster but you cannot name yourself until I call for it.
Because being the 2nd voter and 2nd Non-GM post shouldn't give you exclusive naming rights.
It will likely happen when the Cell is further along.
Like, 3rd page.

well, the sensitvity line is kinda like sonar/vibration sesnitvity. So, in a luqid medium, we feel whenever something moves. And, possibly get a sonar attack later.
But ya, lets go with light sensivity.

K, change my ealier vote of mouth to Light-Sensing Patch, followed by Sensation DetectionII and lets finish it off with Mouth. Get some senses, and a chomper to eat stuff.

Look at Sensation 3. "You can HEAR"
It's basically Passive-Sonar and leads down into Active-Sonar and Sonic Attacks
Also it leads into Verbal Magic
Eyes lead down, well Seeing stuff and make it easier to develop Flashes of light (think Sonar for light then weaponize it) and tends into Beholder-Style Eyebeams if taking Mana.
Anyway update:
After you finish nomming on the cell you feel a sudden urge for company, forcing yourself apart (A VERY strange sensation, -1 Hunger)
As you split you feel your genes rearrange, your DNA splicing and scrambling, shifting around before slowly reassembling with quite a few weird differences
A new patch of stuff at the front of you flickers on and off, detecting the presence of something. You can tell this Something comes from up and around you, seeming like the Negative of what you are sensing with the currents. (You can detect the ambient light of the pool, which is brighter than the reflected ground of other cells)
Underneath this odd patch is the only unchanged part of you, remaining just as easy to absorb things while your Membrane thickens, becoming harder and doubling up. You feel stronger and tougher, ready to take on the world! RAAWR! *cute kitty growling*
You can sense a few of the yummy cells floating around, that odd thing coming out of the ground and the big expanse above you.
Floating very close to you is your offspring, looking around (you think)
What do you do?

Completely ignoring your new friend you wriggle your way slowly over to the weird attached thingy, your dual-senses detecting several long swaying things attached to a base, which has dug into the hard ground underneath
Hungry, you decide to take a big bite, quickly making short work of one tendril (+1DNA, +1Hunger, +1DNA (New cell))
As soon as you do however it seems to emit a weird sensation, messing with your Sensation-Detection but not doing anything else
Stats:
+2DNA
4/4 Hunger
6/6 HP
Sensation-Detection not working
With your undeveloped patch of light-detectors you can sense a big something, but can't tell how far away it is, or if it's one big thing or lots of little things.
On the other side a single cell, roughly your size pulls itself from the ground and moves in your direction
What do you do?

I say more nomming is in order, so we have more DNA and can develop better defenses.

Well, since splitting doesn't cost us anything else, sure. Split, move to another leaf(?), nom it.
This has the added benefit that if there's a predator nearby, they might go for the off-shoot rather than us

Thirding Splitting and then Eating the nearby thing.

I've seen some of the other spore games on this board, and was always too late to really get involved with them. I'm glad that I've found this one, I bet it'll be interesting. Also, I really like the addition of magic. It opens up so many different options.
Fatigue makes me wax philosophic and/or babble. If I've posted something strange and tangential, that is probably the cause. This entry would be an example.
I'm glad people agree with the addition of Magic
Maybe I'll lessen the restrictions to access it earlier as an option? Right now it's in the 3rd area (this first one is to become functional and how you deal with other members of your species, 2nd is to grow more down the route you want and 3rd is where you grow up into a fully-fledged functional being with all you need to survive)
Anywho: Update
You find you really like these tendril thingies but your cell innards is already stuffed.
Hmm, what to do... Ooh you know, Split again.
You take hold of your self and force another reproduction, your genes scrambling as you duplicate.
A few moments later you are full formed, all the excess material shoved into another of your species. (+1 Cells, -1 Hunger, New Evolutions Added)
Both of you turn to the yummy cell, taking two of the remaining three tendrils and chowing down (+1 Hunger, +1 DNA, New Evolutions Added)
You feel some of the cells organelles entering your body fully formed, trying to incorporate into your DNA structure
As you devour the cell the weird buffeting motion seems to increase and two more cells rise from the ground and wriggle towards you, the lead cell very, very near and pretty clearly hostile.
3DNA
4/4 Hunger
6/6 HP
New Evolutions: (Note: The prereqs listed may not be the ONLY way that could be unlocked, simply the one you qualified for)
Proto-Braincell: 4DNA, You gain a nerve running though your body. +1 Intelligence. prerequisite: 3rd Generation (Split twice)
Food-StorageI: 3DNA, +2 Hunger maximum as you store all your nutrients inside this specialized area, rather than floating free and potentially messing with your existing organelles. Prereq: Split at max Hunger for the sole purpose of eating more
Understand Sensation Communication: 2DNA, Allows the cell to understand basic concepts vocalized (understand sounds). Prereq: Hear Sensation Communication, Sensation DetectionII
Note on Naming: To name another cell requires Intelligence1, to name yourself requires Intelligence2
