OK, so they were losing(as expected) and about to die when Naruto saved them. He's pretty awesome, but I feel like we're just beating around the bush. At least the manga isn't switching back to Sasuke in the middle of the fight, but it seems like its going too long. Someone want to check a DBZ fight to see if we've reached rediculously long fight yet?

Have you ever read the Dragonball manga? Fights were pretty short.

Yha, those long, yelling power up scenes? Those are just single panals in the manga.
I do sort of agree, this fight is kind of going on too long, but atleast we're learning why the first hokage was able to beat the Kyuubi. His wood dragon drains chakra.

I dont mind the lengthy powerups. What I find hilarious are the constant battle stops for flashbacks. I LOVED those because of how silly they are.

Yeah, like whenever Rasengan and Chidori connect both get to time travel back to their childhoods and reminiscence... That is the true power that will finally solve the whole story, I'm sure of it.
You know, even if it is Obito it still feels weak from Kakashi's side that he needs Naruto to remind him to FIGHT. If my best friend came at me with a knife I sure wouldn't let him stab me because I'm sure he has his reasons for it...
Okay, it's not quite what happened but still.
And it's kind of interesting how Gai and Hachibi keep Madara... well, at least busy if not quite at bay.

He dropped the clone earlier in the chapter to focus on the battle in reality. Also, "Oh Well" was priceless from Madara who isn't even fighting, just sitting on a rock, chilling. Still, at least the Kuruma has some battle sense. Are we ever gonna see Naruto's knowing of the tailed beasts' names be useful?

From what we've seen of him as Old Man Madara, when he's not trying to kill absolutely everyone who is awesome and is just relaxing, Madara is basically the most chillax person ever. And has a bit of a trolly side, since when Obito asked if he had to help wipe him after going to the bathroom Madara totally said "sure, if you want"

So am I correct in assuming that (most likely at the end) the ten tails has popped up? Man, I think that when the writers do something huge like that, they should slip one of the musical card chips in between those pages, so when you open it up you get some classic big boss music to set the mood as you see the full page spread.

Im thinking some sort of sasuke/naruto collaboration technique. Sasuke manages to bring them both into the mind of the ten tails, (The sharingan could do that with naruto and kyuubi right?) He then is able to call out to the different portions of the ten tails mind, reminding them of everything they have been through, causing them to assert their own individuality, and eventually causing them to break apart.

Am I the only one who doesn't think that knowing the Biju names is actually important beyond Naruto respecting them and gaining their respect. I never got the impression that they were some magical keyword macguffin.

I think this. Knowing their names is basically just a sign that you are bros. Being bros mean you're totally in synch, like Bee and the Hachibi are.

I'm confused. So, knowing someone's name makes you their soulmate? I'm with DoB on that one.. oh, their shared trust and stuff will surely be important but the names are only... names.
So, we got Lavos-juubi and Kakashi punching Obito in the other dimension thanks to Kurama. To be honest I actually half-expected him to throw Kakashi away just because he was troubling him.
Well, Obito's kind of defeated so it is time for the REAL big bad. And next week I'm sure we will switch to Sasuke again Just because Kishi loves to annoy us.

Knowing a Bijuu's name means you cared enough to learn it and don't think of them as merely a weapon. I don't think it grants anyone any special powers, but the Bijuu is more inclined to work with a Jinchuuriki, which might result in a more controlled and harmonious chakra flow.

This, exactly. This just means that Naruto is essentially the Sage reborn, because he sees them as sentient, living creatures worthy of respect. Not because it will create the Omega Rasengan.
