Really, it's not a matter of what they look like so much as it is what they feel like. I remember my dad had an inch-across solid brass d6, and the thing was solid; you could seriously injure somebody by winging it at their head. It was beautiful, too; rounded edges, polished sheen... If I had a set of dice that looked and felt like that, I'd be a very happy gamer.
Why do different dice make the game feel different?

Hmm. Well, I'm fairly proud of the work I did on my team's robot last year, although since I was a new member my contributions were pretty limited. (I am pretty happy with the autonomous program I wrote, although we had to scrap it at the last minute because of an issue with the robot.) There's also that education reform junior lobbying program thing I did over the summer, I'm moderately proud of the stuff I wrote for that.

White, red, half-transparent red as well as a 20 sided avacyn restored dice and a twenty sided golgari dice. And some different dices from a dungeons and dragons basic game.
