This was Roll Initiative!, however, during the three weeks between submitting this thread and its posting here I re-conceptualized the long term vision for this comic. Long term being, like, a hundred comics.
Basically we're looking at a crossbreed of, like, The Name of the Wind and A Song of Ice and Fire, and then we throw in Adam Reed's Archer and/or Frisky Dingo just because we can. It's a dramatic-comedy that follows a heroic party of adventurers, a villainous band of villains, and a pair of bards on a mission to convert the world to a new genre of music, hip hop.

Re: Roll Initiative! A Classic Dungeon & Dragons Adventure (sort of)
Nice comic. The premise sounds good and I hope you can keep it up.
Also some friendly tips, you might want to organize your post to contain a spoiler with all the comic links in it, and place it somewhere nearer to the top of your post. First time, I went past the link because the large text'd title looked like a banner, so i thought that was your signature, and I total missed the link that said pages 1 and 2.
Updated and altered. This comic was actually made and submitted for posting about a month ago. In that time I redefined what I wanted it to be, and came up with something more akin to a parody of A Song of Ice and Fire, hence the current title, Game of Sticks.
Hope you enjoy and, of course, thanks for the support, I really appreciate it.
Sorry for the double post, just figured I'd let you know that I've updated the comic with Issue #4: Skill Points in Mandarin, a brand new page. Hope you enjoy.
Also I've decided that I'll be updating every Thursday from here on out, with bonus updates every once in a while to keep you guys on your toes.
I have the Prologue finished and I've got a few pages done in Chapter One, so I figure I might as well just throw up the prologue to garner some interest before slowing updates down to give me a nice buffer. Anyway, hope you enjoy the latest update, Issue #5, and look for the conclusion to the Prologue before this Tuesday because arbitrary dates are fun.
Could be a symbol of something else...
The breaking of a cycle of poverty and woe for the green people, perhaps...
But then, I'm probably reading into things too much. It could just be a C.
Hey guys, thanks for the compliments, I appreciate it! The "C" is actually the symbol of the Hollowrock Clan, and is actually supposed to be a crude representation of a hollow rock. Deep, I know.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I got some work done on the future comics so I decided to throw up the last panel of the Prologue. Additionally, I'm working on an archival website through Weebly. The OP here is going to get cluttered eventually, but with an off-site archive I can keep it nice and tidy.
Here's a sneak peek at the archive, currently updated for the most recent comic. I'm still in the process of making finishing touches and generally making it nicer, but it is what it is.
tl;dr You can check out the archival website here, and there's a new update.
You know, I don't comment on other fan-comics often, but, well...
While you could certainly do with a little practice using the art style, I'm going to come out and say that your humour is actually really fun to read. What you've posted so far has been enjoyable, and you write better than a lot of early fan-comics I've seen. Keep up the good work!
Like I said, the OotS art is a little clumsy right now, but I'm assuming you just haven't used the style much. It doesn't look bad (again, better than some were when they started out - my very first comics in this style were horrendous, and I'm glad imageshack ate them to death), but it could definitely use some fine-tuning. I recommend you periodically work with your templates and fiddle with them to see what you can do with them or alter about them to make them look better to you, but that might just be a me-thing. I have a habit of going through a few different base templates every couple months or so for fun, but hey - I've gotten way better at using inkscape as a result.
All in all, definitely a good start. Hope my post helped and wasn't just me rambling like a mad thing.

Yeah, I'm new at this. I pretty much just picked up the style because I wanted to make a comic. Two months later and here we are.
Of course, some of the differences between Order of the Stick and this fan comic are stylistic. While I was trying to replicate the OotS style female body I wound up with the template I'm now using, and I'm really happy with it. I love Burlew's style but I think the one I have here complements the male physiques I'm using a little better.
Then there's the actual flaws in the comic. Eyes still frustrate me, to be honest, and getting the proportions right between the mouth, eyes, and hair is difficult. But I think that'll all come with time.
But hey, I appreciate the support, it means a lot, and I'm glad you're enjoying the comic so far. Hopefully I'm able to keep you reading.
And, also, updated. I shifted to larger panels for the next few comics because I want to be able to get up close and personal with the characters while still maintaining a sizable cast. If you guys like it I'll keep the larger panels. If I'm right it should give me more room to portray expressions.
And also we see half of our heroic adventurers for the first time. Cheers.
Also, tome of battle? Good to see. Doesn't get much love in the comics.
You're actually touching on one of themes of the overarching story, namely the conflict between skill and optimization. There are going to be at least a few warblades and swordsages along the way.
And updated, because Thursdays are now our Arbitrarily Chosen Update Days. Enjoy. (:

Looks like things are going to get interesting....
I strongly suggest putting a black outline around the woman's green eyes, and possibly toning down the green as well -- at the moment, it's kinda hard to look at her face because of how the green and pink interact.

I feel you. I'll see what I can do for that, because it is getting a little difficult on the eyes.

Alright, so I'm glad everyone likes the comic. Unfortunately, it's going on a semi-hiatus on account of the fact that finals and term papers are coming up as my semester here at college comes to a close. It's not over, and I'll update as often as I can imagine, but I wouldn't expect more than a few comics until mid-December or so.
I'll try to get one out on time by this Thursday, if not this weekend.
Thanks for reading.
