"Thank you Quxi, these are most helpful," Keiji says after reading the notes. Passing them to Jaster, "Are they not?"

Absolutely. Lets take a look at the records for pest removal and the names on them. Then see if we can tie any of them to murders.

If we can tie murders to clients, if indeed they are there then we definitely have something. Even people that have been hassled recently, though that might not be as apparent.

None of you recall any murders that match the names or dates recorded.

This could make sense to someone with more information. I don't suspect that we can make much more headway on it. Any ideas?

Well, I need to visit Lafierre for a less-than-friendly call on Luther Griswald. If you'll come with me, you could probably get him to answer a few questions before he's silenced.

I suppose we are done here. Curf, could this Luther be able to help us understand what is in these records?

I know that he is involved siphoning money from public works. If any of that money is going toward "pest control", he might know something.

I am more interested in his ability to decipher these documents for us, though I don't suspect he would be eager to do so. Why don't we make a copy or take the original lists and head back to the city to pay a visit to this Luther.

Quxi is happy to scribe a copy of the list for you. It is late at night, and Quxi will need some time to make the copies. He'll have them ready early in the morning if you wish.

In the morning an early knock wakes you. Quxi delivers the copies you requested, then trudges away for some needed shut-eye.

You set out for Laffierre, and have the good luck of arriving without any unforeseen delays, arriving back at the city in four days of hard marching.

Lets see if Luther will help us, though I don't know how willing he will be to do so. Coercion may be our most tempting, but less effective method.

"I think we should probably visit his home this evening. He is a public figure, it shouldn't be that difficult to find out where he lives."

You learn that Luther lives in a mansion at #13 Cedar Groves, and you also get directions.

#13 Cedar Groves is an imposing mansion. When you arrive you realize that it is in the same vicinity as the Red Raven headquarters. Wide lawns with sculpted shrubbery and an ornate fountain of a rearing stallion grace the front courtyard. A cobbled lane leads to the front door and curves back to the main street. The building itself is mostly stone with a brick facade. It is three stories tall with decorative crenelations on the roof. Couriers come and go periodically.

Or is the question "Who can play courier?" The better question is how we will do this and whether we will have to coerce or simply persuade and mislead.
