Gratz on that excellently coordinated shutdown, Anti and Morcleon.

"I" tried to open up discussion along teh lines Daniels had brought up earlier, essentially about teh potentially "fictional" nature of "our" situation and existence, and general meta-ness and such. You both kinda ignored it, and I wasn't sure if that was intentional.

Ah, it wasn't intentional, but I'm sorry about that. It's not really something Sam would have caught anyway, as the time spent with the other souls has pretty much convinced her that all myths might as well be real. For her, the line between fiction and reality (at least in terms of settings, universes, magic etc) is all but non-existent.

For reference, you don't have to do the header thing with character and location unless the situation requires it. For example, when Morcleon has clones running around, it's nice.
Also, on an unrelated note, I just had to fight a raccoon to the death over the weekend. Man, those crazy f**kers just don't die. I may have to throw some of them up against you IC, they'd fit right in with all the undying elditrich abominations.

Oh. Sorry 'bout that. It wasn't intentional at all. ^_^' "I" just sort of take everything as it comes, although if any metagaming tactics actually work, it will be quite the revelation that nothing is as it seems! Bum bum bum bum!

Oh, them crazy raccoons...
I once found a raccoon going through the trash after our garbage cans got knocked over by a storm. Sprayed it with a water gun until it ran away. Although, why did you have to kill the raccoon?
EDIT: I would assume that, throughout this time, I've actually been building the fleet. How many RUs have I acquired at the time of attack?

I had to kill it because when it and its buddies had just killed three kittens and injured a fourth. I was going out to retrieve the injured one and let it sleep inside for the night so it wouldn't get nommed, and on my way back out, what do I see but one of the crazy little buggers going back to grab a midnight snack (by which I mean the wounded kitten in question). So there was really no choice.
Also, yeah, you've been building up that fleet. Say you've got another 7500 or so.

So theoretically (because Victor is an AI, or at least has technopathy which would allow him to utterly control all AI or software entities around him), we could actually create a sentient brain for the Pride under our control to regulate the ship, allowing us to focus on other tasks. Between Victor and Boba, it should actually be pretty easy to program.
However, I know next to nothing about software or programming myself. Would it be acceptable to handwave this at least in part? It would take some time and probably drain Victor permanently of some of his computing power, but I think it could be done, given the abilities of both characters in question.
Also, I know I established with Armin that Boba was going to get Slave II. Would that be in one of the hangar bays, or is Sam going to have to go find it elsewhere?

I believe, unless I'm incorrect, that the ship already has an onboard AI, and Morcleon just has it set to notify him of any goins-on and to confirm commands with him.
Also, yes, you will get Slave II. You will find it (soon). It's not here yet, though.

It's not an AI. It's actually one of my souls (Karan Sjet) who has a link to the ship, and can control it and the fleet as if it were her own body.
@Antiplanar- You want a fighter, eh? Well, considering the only Hiigaran fighter is only good in large squadrons, I'll see if I can't run you up a Kadeshi Advanced Swarmer (with the Fighter Drive that negates the need for fuel) until you get the Slave II back.
...hey, the Karan who fought and captured several Kadeshi ships is the same Karan with us now, so it should work.
EDIT: Considering that the enemy will take about 30 min to get to the ship, and the fact that it's almost 1 am over here, I'm gonna hold off on the fleet layout until tomorrow, 'kay?

(Replying here since Sam may not have said anything to teh rest of us IC)
I can be out there more-or-less instantly, minimal health hazards, if we think an intervention is needed.

They're moving at quick but visible speed. Say, 200kmph or so. Also, they range from house-sized to major-extinction-event-sized. Luckily, most of the larger ones seem to be going last.

Calculations:
Minimum distance from Earth to the asteroid belt: 1 AU (~93 mil miles)
Convert to km [*1.6]: 148.8 mil km
Speed of asteroids: 200 km/h
Time required to travel that distance at that speed: 744k hrs
Convert into years [/(24*365)]: 84.932 yrs
And best part is, this is freeform, not D&D, so no catgirls were harmed in the making of this calculation.

Hey, now, they just instantaneously accelerated to the aforementioned speed. Assuming they will move at a continuous rate, or otherwise obey the laws of physics in any way, may be just a teensy bit misguided.

Well, it is the real world (sort of). Do they appear to be accelerating at all?

Not yet!
Also, (and this may or may not actually mean anything, because I love messing with you guys,) did you learn nothing from Erik's little misadventure earlier?

I now have the Idea that I will be no save Geasing things to visit the Lady of Pain to get put in a maze until Draming decides to constantly fail my overcome SR checks.
Also, question. What sort of Caster level would I be pinged at, I was just wondering if I could simply redirect Meteors far far away by teleporting them to change direction. Might handle the smaller ones.
Considering I have a Psychic of Not quite god level Power and a Demon of God level power in me that never uses it, I should be able to move a fair bit...
Or I could take them to the realm of shadow. Now to look at the shadow walk spell rules...
Edit: For Shadow Walk (Path of Shadows Spell), no amount is given for the amount of portable materials, just a people limit. Would that mean I could take anything I could 'pretend' to pull along (Looking for DM answer, not try it)? If so, Asteroid problem solved.

For reference, I wasn't talking about your choice of method for dealing with Marit.
Also, before you guys go considering doing thins like dragging the asteroids into another plane, or even getting rid of them in any other way, remember that we're talking about this field. Removing that much mass from our solar system could have much worse consequences for the system as a whole than the asteroids would if they hit the Earth.

....so we're talking about, like, a whole lot of asteroids, aren't we? So IS this thing Jenova? Teh description's not far off.

For Elspeth's ability, would cards like Angelsong or Faith's Reward even work? Would the meteors count as combat damage, and if an extinction event did occur, would the Earth count as 'all permanents'?
I'm just wondering what Sam's options are here, considering that we are working with the Magic rules in a universe where they many not all apply.

Angelsong wouldn't work, as it's not combat damage (damage dealt by a creature) but Faith's Reward might.

No, it isn't Jenova. It's something entirely rather worse, and honestly, I'm surprised none of you know what it is.

Okay, so that leads me to another question: if the winged figure that can somehow pull swords out of its chest isn't a creature, would it count as a player under MtG rules?
Also, do the asteroids count as permanents?
Finally, I am still a bit unsure about how mana bonds work. Can a planeswalker tap the mana from any place he has previously been to without having actually been there? I was just thinking that the alternative wouldn't make any sense, because then one could only tap a very limited amount of mana at any time.

A planeswalker taps mana from places he or she knows. Just having been somewhere doesn't help, but the better you know a place, the better our connection for the purposes of drawing mana. Spending, say, an hour or so flying over an area or walking through it and contemplating it is generally enough to form a fairly stable link.
Also, I'm counting the meteors as more of an effect from another spell, ala Shivan Meteor.
