I believe if he was at -10 before, then he's now at +30. I'm pulling that from page 205 from Into the Storm:

So he would have been Disdainful, which is the Difficult (-10) step for Charm on Table 7-1 of the same page, so that would have been a 20 on a TN of 75, which is 5 DoS. That's six steps he'd take upwards. So he's gone from Disdainful to two steps above Infatuated, which doesn't exist. That's my understanding of it.
And since I didn't know that we were doing an Interaction Challenge, can I just make a different test for 'that round'? Using that check or not, your call.
EDIT: It would have been Deceive, but that's okay. We can keep it at Charm and just let Luff go this round (presuming he did follow Taz as she asked. If not, we'll continue!).

Yeah, he's very well disposed towards you now. Thinks you're a very beautiful woman, and is flattered that you're paying much attention to him and otherwise expressing an interest. If it were a default situation and that was all you were after, that would be enough. Since you presumably want him as an ally, and a potential way to influence Dante, we're using the challenge rules (which six DoS counts towards, usefully).
But yes, you can make use of a different skill in that roll, since I didn't specify ahead of time. If it works out as a decent number of successes and is applicable, you should almost certainly be able to count him as an ally here and maybe get him to put in a good word for you with the General - probably while thinking it's his own idea. Which skill would you like to use?
Edit: Ah, deceive. Hmm. What exactly are you lying about here, just for the sake of clarity?

She did tell a number of lies in that sentence -- I'll bold them.
Quote:
Repair facilities? I saw a few docks, but surely those won't be operational during a space battle, will they? I must confess I am extremely interested in the finer points of space tactics, but I'm ashamed to admit I've never had a proper tutor in [space tactics]. Perhaps we could take your mind off of the party and discuss the Void? I would hate dreadfully for you to leave tonight thinking it a total waste.
(1d100)[45] v. 75 for the Deceive check, then.
EDIT: Or would that be v. 105...?
EDIT2: I'll refrain from posting until Henry indicates whether he wishes to or not.

What could I do? You've got much better social skills than me. My failed tests put off the general. I had hopes for the Magos, but in order to get any kind of leverage over him I need him hooked on the Castle's archaotech. That's all he really cares about besides his facilities, and he seems quite confident that he can defend them himself. Since I already used Charm, I need to Intimidate him for another increase in disposition.
I mean, we could always try to subtly undermine his defense and then heroically come to the rescue mid-battle, but that won't help much now.

You're trained in charm, so you can support me or Donan with Aid Another. You have Knowledge (Tactica Imperialis), if memory serves. So you can provide knowledge to improve Reynolds' disposition in that way. Later on, once we're cracking Locke further, the same knowledge will be useful.
Sigma is probably best equipped to deal with the Magos. We need his support. I am in agreement with you on the archeotech, though. We'll see if any additional leverage can be obtained during this discussion.
I believe you can also be useful in showing the General that my dog is on his leash, or whatever derrogatory phrase the General made.
Just a few thoughts. You may also be good with Blitz, but I think Orleans is too noble-y to be acceptable.

It's the Commander atm, not the General. If you can make a Tactica Imperialis roll and see if there's anything we can use with Reynolds to help woo the General, I would appreciate it greatly. After that you can go talk to the dude with a golden-hulled cruiser.
Maybe mention that he has absolutely no taste.
Like seriously, who coats their cruiser in gold?

Tactica Imperialis: (1d100)[43] vs. 30
If I were rich beyond human imagination and wanted everyone to know it, that is totally something I would do.

Mostly waiting for a few more IC posts. Want to see how people approach or react to the other NPCs. Well, that and I'm tired, and writing RP posts while sleep deprived never seems as good an idea the next morning.

Also still around. Time is hectic, as always, but was really waiting to see if someone would move.

This shouldn't be dead. I'm mostly waiting for other people at the party to approach folks and speak to them. Or generally do something. I'm aware that I need to write up a response from the Astropath again, but unless I'm missing something there's not a lot else happening.
Luff, for example, needs to actually speak to people to get the benefit of that Lore test in a social situation.

I am kinda happy this is going. The marathon of Rogue Trader I was GMing came to its inevitable end and I lust still for more 40k.

Remi Dante presently has a -10 to all interactions with you. Mostly a side effect of his general dislike for offworlders, and his present bad mood at being forced to attend a party while an Ork invasion nears his home.

Can you hear that sound? That's the sound of my heart breaking at the fact my Psyker-friend didn't answer me and obviously doesn't like me anymore.

Still here Luc.
Was really waiting on boss to post the Astropath's answer so I could, you know, answer...
But I guess I will turn on my zero-****s-giving machine and mind-rape him if conversation is out of question.

*whistles innocently*
Yeah. Whoops. Still, post is up now.
(Also, my internet is currently playing up, so my posting might slow down until BT decides to fix itself. I'm using a Library computer at the moment. Also, at some point soon, I start a thankfully temporary job that demands twelve hours shifts for six days of the week, so I expect my posting to slow right down around then. Fair warning.)

Sorry to be late, everyone. Boonequest was on tonight.

Once again, my apologies for my absense lately. Finally done with my nightshifts for this time so life should be getting back to a more regular schedule from now on.
Maugan, best of luck with the new job. 12 hour shifts can be real killers (it what I've been doing the last few weeks) so make sure to pace yourself a bit and enjoy your freetime when you get it.
I'm just happy you kept the game alive long enough for me to return. Victris doesn't have your charm so I've been a bit wary of trampling too far ahead. It seems like we'll not be able to blackmail Locke with anything though. And I never really got the chance to connect with neither her nor Kas.
On a related subject, just who IS left in the game? I have seen neither Ulrich nor Quintus for a while now. (But I suppose I shouldn't be talking after my little absense.)
We still haven't approached eiter of the other Traders either, perhaps they'll be coming up on the list shortly. I might have a small chance with the Bishop, if Ulrich is no longer playing. We'll see.
My Peer (Ecclesiarchy) will help with the bishop. I'm not entirely sure what these orders are, but I doubt the Aegis is equipped for Exterminatus, but just in case we should probably have the Castle ready to shoot the crap outta the Aegis. I doubt they can withstand a four battery broadside unless we roll exceptionally poorly.
Like, reaaaaaaaaaaaally poorly.
EDIT: Oh right, the rest of the stuff I meant to say.
The Traders were going to be after the chat with Kas, but it seems we're going off on an interlude. They'd better both be there when we get back, or I'll have to have words with them.
Not sure who all is still in the game, though.
