Try as I might, I just can't get into video game RPGs such as Dragon Age. It's weird: no matter how much I like reading about the story, as soon as I sit in front of my controller I find myself skipping dialogue and giving less than a single damn about the characters' backstories and motivations. I don't have that problem when playing PnP RPGs, strangely enough.

Speaking of the latter, I love watching videos of people playing these RPGs (my favourite series is Rollplay) but I have trouble following D&D campaigns. I love playing D&D, but I much prefer it when these groups play other games like Numenera or Shadowrun. And I adore generic fantasy settings so that can't be the problem.

I use a generic forum avatar. Hahah! But I know what you mean, when I have custom avatars to look at I don't even remember half the people's names. Some nicknames I have in my head probably aren't the most complimentary, but some are just like Red Fel: forever dubbed Megamind guy.
