Hymn is innocent! Kerina runs the whole cloning thing on her own. The hymn we see shooting people is a clone of the real hymn that kerina uses for tryouts, the real Hymn has no idea what is going on.

I agree. If it turns out to be true, which seems unlikely, this would quite elevate the plot. But on the other hand.. He's still killing his candidates and no one seems to care.

So... There's an intruder on the estate? Is there any person we know that could reasonably be it? Or is it just some random new guy? I mean, if I had to guess on anyone.. Bill? Or did he die?

Or those two henchpeople just had kinky sex and passed out.

They found suspicious bones in the friendly fireplace. One threw off his masks and robes and ran around madly naked until he had a heart attack and died while the other turned his head 180 degrees and inexplicably died.

It probably is whoever was wearing the mask on page 15. But the naked singer now has different hair. So it could be that it's a different naked singer.

So there is someone wandering around wearing the robes of the faceless mooks on the estate. Had he taken the mask too I would have figured infiltration attempt. Right now im thinking angry clone who wasnt quite dead yet. After all, we dont see him get tossed into the fire, just carried there.

Quick question, but why do the mooks have mustaches on their masks? I...I don't really understand how anyone could take them seriously.

The masks are supposed to look like Hymn.
They aren't supposed to look intimidating, Hymn is just narcissistic.

Sure? Erfworld has done this before and they are successful.

Also Mookie already posted the complete Hymn-program brochure, so we can expect at least six more pages of white on black console printout.

Yes, but the Erfworld would be 50 times longer. Granted, if you subtract the stuff about strings and the magic jargon it'd be the same length.

So... I'm going to assume in today's update there is an extremely elaborate puzzle for a secret Easter egg related to the comic that the authors have created in hard work. Because the alternative would be they are just lazy.

But all artists are lazy. I mean, look at Off-Brand Music Meister here. He appears to have one outfit, brands everything with a mustache because he couldn't be bothered to think of anything else, has an awful program book that was designed in five minutes and he probably tracks blood all over the place. I wonder how much he pays that secretary.

He gifts her phat bling when he could be garrotting her with it, what's more to ask for?

He has more than one outfit, though. He put on a new one for the audit. And his choir seems to have different masks for concert and home (with or without mouth coverage).

I may be an exception here, but I kind of like these updates.

Since it's an update between issues, I don't really expect it to completely reveal any information.
In this update, in no more than 5 words, we know that there is some kind of an automatic education program (which could mean robots, or support of the clone theory).

So yes, you could say it's lazy, but since it's not an actual page I'm willing to give it some slack.
As long as the actual pages later do not contradict what we saw here, it's light, subtle, and gives at least some amount of information useful to the plot.
That is a lot more than any other update between issues we had so far.

If you read the blog post, they're getting trolled, so why worry about it? Otherwise, I would say that if people cheer for the villain then the protagonist is probably blander then overcooked oatmeal and just as likable. Might want to get some honest criticism there...

Ah, I thought they were meant to be full updates. I still don't think they deserve praise but I'm less harsh on the lazy now.

Eh... You will always find weirdos who forgive anything bad a character does. I'm sure despite Mookie's claims there were / are still people who like Bill, maybe because the ship was just an AI or whatever. And at the same time I'm sure many people disliked bill before that.
In general.. I also like a good antagonist. There is nothing wrong with it if they are fleshed out and have proper motivation and character. And as said, if you're hero is terrible, you need to cheer for someone.

Okay but if the villain is just as bland as the hero, why cheer for either? One doesn't need to cheer for anyone. And a likable villain does do evil things; sure, the character would have interesting motivations, but their actions would still be evil. Otherwise, they're not a villain.
Anyway, yeah, I see now that it was just trolling, but I just don't get why people need to be emotionally involved in the story. Sure, the hero sucks, but that doesn't mean we have to start rooting for the villain.
