I missed a bit of Rashomon last time, so now I get the full banana busting experience.

This time is a lot easier because of
    A. Merlin
    B. Having all the CEs and
    C. Merlin.

I love how straightforward this event is. Just punish the boss and let the rewards rain down.

I spent a large portion of this game saving, so it's nice to return to basics. I missed having my little hoard of tickets/sq.

I don't like merlin for this event, his NP doesn't help me nuke the oni super fast only nuke the oni a second time a bit faster and live. also his buster buff doesn't do much for scathach or jack. so i just use waver who has much better skills and NP for nuking the oni as much as possible right away.

Just finished the first chapter, have a few more Summons at this point and have even got a few Phantasams ranked up. Story was...interesting. Certainly more fun than the prologue.

I'm being a bit lazy with it to be honest. I don't really feel like trying to Bully the Oni 100 times.

the story is pretty simple early on, occasionally wierd but pretty simple. things slowly start to get really good, personally i think when you get to london or america it gets pretty good.

    Pretty much this.

Round 2 came up with Lancer Alter, now maxed, dishing out around 4.5m damage with a successful NP+(Buster+Buster)crit+Ex combo, making me able to easily farm and finish the quest, whereas last year I could only bully the oni.

that really depends on your setup, like did you have a head start on this event, personally without really using riceballs and just using most of the natural BP gen i am at 75,000,000 but i also did the event last year and have been taking advantage of my own powerful servants for this like Jack, Scathach, and Kintoki rider.

    Hmm,
I have Jack, musashi, and Merlin, and I hit 79,000,000 this morning. I did use 3-5 cheap rice balls though. Merlin and Jack don't play as well with each other. I don't have last year's stuff.

I just broke 110k, but I'm WAY ahead of the curve with 3 MLB golden CEs and full clearing the 6mil every time. Remember your goal is 200k by the end of the event, nothing else super matters.

I wouldn't worry much about the ladder. You should be able to clear 200mil just from doing the 3mil hp raid on natural BP. Use some riceballs if you have to.

I wonder if a low-ranked Ibaraki kill with a lot of gourd-giving CEs gives more gourds than a high-ranked one with none.

The mat drops from each day is different, so I'm saving most of my jelly donuts for the Lancers. Also the daily missions give a ton of BP, so I wouldn't worry too much.

So a slightly amusing story. My friend and I were both lamenting last night about how we rarely get 5-Star servants when we actually try to save and roll for a specific one. Most of our SSR's come from surprises. We came to the conclusion that if we aren't rolling for a specific Servant, then seemingly we are more likely to get 5-Star Servants. Thus the only way to truly not roll for a specific servant is to do the dreaded Story Banner roll. So both he and I just threw caution to the wind and agreed to each do a 10x roll on it. It was just a silly joke thing that we were derping around with and we both knew that it was a stupid waste of quarts.

....Then I got Quetzalcoatl on my 10x roll
....Then he got Waver on his 10x roll

Now I'm wondering if there might be something to not trying to save and roll for a specific servant and just leaving the Gacha Gods to decide.

Nah, i'm still going to hoard SQ for Servants that I want. I just find it funny that something that was just supposed to be a dumb joke actually ended up being beneficial.

Probably best, yeah. The Greed Sensor is out to mess with all of us, sure, but if you're willing to spend literally thousands of SQ to get what you want, you'll probably get it eventually.

    Maybe.

This was my setup, I buffed Kin-san all the way to 100% NP Gauge with double Zhuge Liang, then switched him for best dog. Weirdly enough, the doge did most of the job, he actually stayed alive up until the hands started to spawn one at a time, and Kin got the clean up turn, though I was lucky that the banana didn't crit as often. It was my second attempt, and the first was ruined because of those nasty crit chains the oni loli loves to kick.

i ran waver, mash, jack, jeanne, kintoki rider and i believe medea to make room for 5 5* CEs.
and now i can't log in... pretty sure there isn't any major thing happening so i can't imagine traffic issues, unless people rushing to get those last damage and shop items crashed some server or connection point or something.

welp, 15 mins of log in attempts with a short break to post about it seems to have done the trick.

On the plus side, the log in streak only matters for the daily log ins. The 20SQ for each 50 Log Ins is based on total log ins rather then in a row. But yeah, the master profile does record longest streak, and its sad to see that number not be the same as the current streak.

If I may reply to a comment from a while back... It doesn't so much *do* anything thematic, so much as the item itself ties into the character.

You see, part of Kiara's backstory is that when she was a child, she was bedridden with illness, all while the goings-on of the Tachikawa Buddhist sect happened around her (for reference, the Tachikawa sect is a heretical school of Buddhism that pursues enlightenment through the bliss of... carnal climax...). While stuck in bed, surrounded by practitioners following their own pleasure-filled pursuit of enlightenment (and none of them stopping to help a sickly girl find treatment for a curable illness), she received a copy of the book 'The Little Mermaid', and she became entranced by the tale. Following that, in another world where Kiara's life followed a darker path than pre-Seraphix Kiara's (see Fate/Extra CCC), she would become a Master herself and summon the authour of said story, Hans Christian Andersen, as her Servant.

So the idea seems to be that distracting Beast III/R with the manuscript to her favourite story provides an opening for the player's team to recover if things go awry.

I'm actually aware of this, and was hoping for some kind of thematic effect that was more interesting, since I think it's super adorable. Maybe turn her into a kid version that has lower stats or something.
