FWIW, it has only been specifically part of D&D since 3rd edition, and many of us that have been playing longer than that do not take it for granted. I'm also not sure I know that many other fantasy works (outside to CRPGs) where such a thing exists.

The loot just fits, but the control helm isn't loot, it's a puzzle component so it doesn't :P

Remember in The Two Towers when Gimli tries on human chain-mail and it is a little tight across the chest (and down past his knees)?
If you find yourself watching Power Rangers and wonder how some characters got their powers and zords back for an anniversary episode, just assume they were restored off screen. They have 20+ seasons of team geniuses to call on.

The author has said for years that they have had the whole story plotted out for ages. Looking back on the early days on this comic I used to like, I do not believe that for a second.

That carry a curse of agonizing undeath for the body of those killed upon them. They are cursed to wander the world screaming in pain from their wounds that never heal. You can tell yourself that the body has no soul, (its been trapped in the spikes) but to see your party member and friend's body screaming in agony as he is forced to continue existing makes it hard to believe.

I see we got a new fundraiser going on. No word, of course, of the fact that that Temps Fate fundraiser, which still hasn't given us all the pages promised. No word on finally getting those cards that were promised either but lets just give her more money. Excellent way to reward bad behavior. No, I don't care what the reason is short of needing it because someone is dying. When she wanted a house, she put more work into her donation drive than this. This is just a lazy plea for money that comes after a series of fundraising failures.

Hey, how is that animation doing? Haven't heard about it at all. How long ago was it funded? December 23, 2017. So, coming up on two years for FIVE MINUTES? Five freaking minutes. On the brighter side, it seems like updates continue to happen every month or two, and they seem to be working hard on delivering all the perks, so those are points in its favor. The most recent update also gave an early one minute clip of what they plan.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...&v=swTo1yKL3DA

On the other hand. There is THIS clip, that used no money to create

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kN_oBVR-tGA

It's a a LONGER animation that looks BETTER than the new stuff. What are these people doing? How the hell can they not have something to show for all this time and money that doesn't have any improvements at all over their early work?

I just find it unbelievable that this group of professionals can't even manage 5 minutes in two years. I used to watch animations over on Newgrounds, in the early 2000s, that had much more primitive methods to create animations, done by one or two amatures that could have done a better job in half the time. Sadly, this is exactly what I have come to expect from kickstarters. Seriously, when a webcomic author starts a Kickstarters, it should be reserved for funding book printings. That is about the only thing you can consistently get a product. Just be glad that the original fundraiser didn't make it, cause that would have been more money being burned away into another dumb prestige project.

Also, I liked this bit of honesty. "I knew transitioning would be expensive. I've re-adjusted my life to be able to pay for the thousands of dollars that it requires," Thanks for telling us that the reason you FINALLY started doing comics again was to fund your transition. Here I thought it was because she was in a better place mentally. Turns out, it was cause of money. Well, not sure how she survived for so many years not doing this comc when it is her only job (as far as I know), but it seems she finally got in a big enough expense hole to finally start turning out content again.

Pity the content is really not all that good, unless you enjoy gore and suffering. When is the last time we had a decent joke? *Scrolls back* It was when Kin realized that she didn't sign the note telling Minmax that she was "here". Yea, that was pretty amusing. Everything since then has been drama, action and suffering, and I'm getting sick of Kore. He was really bad ass at first but he's constantly losing every fight these days. He's just not catching my attention like he used to. How does he not have any cool magic items, despite being high level, when you can't seem to go anywhere while adventuring without tripping all over them?

Is he? Kore had a perfect winning streak until getting inside the dungeon. Then he fought Kin and one could argue that was more of draw since Kin lured him to fall inside a trap hole.

And then Kore met the goblins again and finally got his ass properly kicked, and that demanded they finding convenient plot golem and Sir Vorpal Kickasso pulling multi-target full heals out of his ass, plus Kore having lost most of his gear after falling in that trap hole.

So Kore has only lost between one or two fights, and the last one he was pretty handicapped (low on gear and the goblins just got a temporary golem).

However this last battle has stretched for months of real time (plus the goblins pulling lots of stuff out their asses) so it does feel like Kore being beaten multiple times.

Heh, I already pointed that out myself. Even random guard in Brassmoon had a big magic sword, but Kore needs to waste turns casting magic weapon on his axes.

Be fair, they were pretty distracted what with seeing the spirit of their dead party member desperately trying to give them information they needed. Also, tracking kore is going to be risky. He freaking wiped the floor with them the instant the golem was out of play and now HE can start the ambush since he is in front of them. The only questions we have are, how close to death was kore, how much of that can he heal, and how soon will he strike back? Taking bets on that last one, in any sort of world that makes sense, kore would be in the very next room patching himself up and casting any remaining buffs he has on himself just to finish the job here, THEN he can rest. In THIS world however, I fully expect him to be waiting at the exit to the dungeon in hopes that enough years have passed by that him turning up surprises us briefly. Also letting the GAP level up a bit and be better able to hurt him or have found yet another macguffin that lets them fight him decently well.

On the left, I read the page itself as a joke. So caricatural.

Toma did mention the cards. I'm not concerned because I know Elli has been working on them, despite that guy running away with all the money.

I do think she wrote the whole thing early on, because I think if she were to write it now that she's found herself and is happier, there would probably be less mutilation. But I understand sticking to the original vision. She did say that she wants every fight to change at least one character permanently. I do hope Ears gets replacements, but we'll see!

The problem for me is that they didn't see Kore stand up and leave. Look at this and the following page: Chief has time to gasp and say "listen to me!", and Kore has already stood up and walked away with heavy, clearly audible steps.

It would have been OK for me if Kore had just used the shock of seeing Chief to make it so that they didn't notice that he was getting up, so that they would be surprised when he attacked them.

But completely stopping combat? Ears even took his helmet off before his round was over! Thaco removes his band, and Vorpal stops flying. They apparently all at once decided that Kore wasn't worth fighting or worrying about. They completely forgot about him.

The only way I could accept this is a magical spell. Kore has cast a mass Suggestion and told them to take (enjoy) Chief. This is why everyone is talking to him. Ears is trying to literally take him by grabbing him (like "Can you take this bag?").

yeah pretty much. When in a thread about a webcomic, i like to talk about the webcomic, because the webcomic is what i came to the thread (that is about the webcomic) to talk about.

discussion and (frankly quite rude) attacks against the author behind her back are neither needed, wanted, nor required here. If you want to make an "Everything wrong with Ellipsis" thread, please go somewhere else.
