Yay!
Hi! Just found the strip and I think it's quite funny. Just wanted to drop a note and give a little positive feedback.

Re: The Order of the Stick
I actually followed a link put up today on the squidi.net front page. Sean (the author over there) enjoys what you're doing.
(Not to start a war or anythig, but I think your stuff is a lot funnier, IMHO.)

I came here through Sean's link too. This is one of the best DnD comics I read in along time. Very funny stuff!

Make that three... I've only played DnD two or three times, but the comic made me laugh out loud several times nonetheless. Keep up the good work!

Re: The Order of the Stick
Wow today's comic was hilarious!
I love when Nale smacks Elan when he wasn't making sense.
I also like the "Go Fish" scene and the serving song.
Very well done.

I also liked the "Go Fish" game.
The "Baby On Board" sign cracked me up!

Re: The Order of the Stick
Thanks. After the rapid-fire jokes in #50, I thought it would be nice to slow down with a little more subtle joke and a more "meandering" strip. :)

Re: The Order of the Stick
Pardon me if I seem a bit thick, but...
It would seem that either:
A)Thog is under instructions from Nale to kill the (priestess?) for reasons as yet unrevealed...
or
B)Thog is the sort of fighter that kills every NPC he runs across in a dungeon.
While A make a LOT more sense in the big picture, the way it looks in the comic itself seems a lot more B...
Oh, and to Roy - in Haley's words: Grow a sense motive.

Re: The Order of the Stick
It's probably more like:
C.) Thog is the sort of fighter who kills all NPCs, which is why Nale can trust that if he splits up the party, the earth nymph will get killed. After all, TELLING Thog to kill a specific person is dicey at best, since he'll probably forget. Nale is likely using Thog's natural tendency to kill things (other than puppies) to suit his purpose.
I think Roy's lack of a Sense Motive score is well-established at this point. ;)Rich Burlew

Re: The Order of the Stick
Hmm...
Could Nale really know that Roy and Thog would split up?
If they didn't, the nymph might have wound up alive... or, even worse, Thog might have killed her in front of Roy...
Seems a bit sketchy, to me... Unless Thog is going to turn on Roy latter on, anyway... But the Giant just stated that Thog can't be trusted to remember whom to turn on(that sounded wrong)....
My head is aching.

Re: The Order of the Stick
Greetings from another awestruck newbie! ;)
I've been following the comic for some time, and utterly adore it. So much, in fact, that I link to it from the main navbar on my website, and you don't pay me money or anything!
And that, my friends, is a true sign of respect.
Eagerly awaiting the next OOTS!

Hey, welcome to the site.
Thanks for the link; in fact, if you read the "Tracking the Order of the Stick" thread on this forum, you'll see I had found your page as a result of a Google a few weeks ago and posted a link back. :)Rich Burlew

Re: The Order of the Stick
Hello hello from a squidi.net user, your comic is very good, and may I congratulate you on reaching top ten on the main listing on buzzcomix? (Why oh why can't they just spell it normally?)

Re: The Order of the Stick
You COULD congratulate me, if I had made the Top 10. Unfortunately, you are accidentally looking at only the Fantasy list. I'm still like 42 on the all-genre Top 100. Try going to the top navigation and clicking on "BCX 100"; it should load the full 100 list.
At any rate, welcome and thanks for the support.Rich Burlew

Re: The Order of the Stick
Yeah, this comic strip is excellent. I loved #44 on the bottom three slides. Basically pegs the drow elves since 2nd edition onwards ...
I\'m going to die alone and unloved.

Hello all! I just found the site, found it when I was randomly reading the WOTC boards. Rich, you are a frekin' GENIUS! I spent all night reading the comics (and the messageboards!), and I'm printing them out so I can take them with me. Keep up the great work, I'm off to set the page as my homepage!!

Re: The Order of the Stick
I have a working theory about the Linear Guild, and I want to see if anyone agrees with me. Would they be the powergamers version of the Order of the Stick? I mean, given the specific characters (CG Drow, Abysmally Stupid Half-Orc Fighter, etc.) it's definitely a knock at the fine traditions of powergamers, and, of course, they do reflect the beloved Order of the Stick.

Re: The Order of the Stick
I was thinking the same thing, but I think each one, in thier own way is sort of a 'DM's nightmare' character. Nale being the uteer powergamer, Thog being a shameless min-maxer, Helga being a pumped up cleric, Zz-drti being the clone character. I'm not sure about the other two, because Belgar and Haley are already DM's nightmares :D
