wink Demotivators (image-heavy)

New thread for bitter irony! It turns out that motivators bring out the dark streak in my sense of humor. I don't want to kill teh awesome silly vibe in the other thread so I'm moving the sarcastic demotivators over here. Larger versions are available by clicking on them.

Update! I made a banner for giving proper credit to Rob and Jamie for all of the derivative works in this thread. I think that I've covered everything needed to abide by the Creative Commons License that they're using. If you use it then please make it a hyperlink to the first page of the comic like I did, otherwise I also have a larger version that you can use that displays both URLs.

Apart from laughing really hard now, I love the font style used.
Really like the original demotivators.
Which is the font, if you want to divulge it.

W00t! Glad you like them.

The title of "Soul-Sucking Drudgery" is in Big Bloke BB, a free Blambot title font that just looked appropriate somehow, and the line is in Copperplate Gothic Bold. For "Money", I switched it around; the title is in Copperplate Gothic Bold since it seems like a banker's font and the line is in Spirit Medium (another free Blambot title font). I have a feeling that it says something about me that I used the name of an obscure font to create a dual-meaning hidden pun in a demotivator remixed from a fantasy webcomic. Possibly just "I'm a geek!"

For my non-demotivator at the top of the other thread, the title "Crap" is in I Want My TTR! Expanded. I'm not sure which is more surprising: that I had a font that kind of looks like smears of filth? or that I found a use for it? The line is in Biondi, another small caps serif font like Copperplate Gothic.

I present the first of my Lessons of Erfworld: Distraction. With it, I spin the dial so far away from cynicism that it goes right past wide-eyed innocence and comes back around on the other side...at disturbing imagery. Hahaha! You have no chance to survive make your time.

Here's my two cents... er, pictures.

I stole the text for the first one from the Demotivators website. The second one is all my own.

I also wanted to do one for the last panel of comic 54, but it gets all teensy on my computer. We need a 'blown up' version of that panel anyway, 'cause it's just that cool.

EDIT - De-spoiler'd the pics, because nobody else is hiding them, and modified the pics to put the artist info on them.

Well, it seems that your lesson has sunk in, and sparked another inspiration:

And now, taking Vondre's second picture to heart, I had best get back to work....

Edit: After a *facepalm* moment, I changed the title to "Relaxation", for obvious reasons.

The yellow is hard to read. Sorry.
Hee hee! I like it.

Another from me. If we don't get a comic soon, there might be Demotivators for every panel of the entire comic. Now, is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Just a general note: If your pic is really wide, it should be spoiler-tagged so it doesn't force people's browser windows to widen to accommodate it (requiring side-scrolling to read the page, which is a nuisance). Yours should be OK, but anything wider than that should probably be spoilered.

I'd suggest 600 pixels maximum width as a good rule of thumb.

It'd probably work better with a dark border (when I get some free time, I can try tweaking it for you, if you like).

The rules of posting say 400 pixels.

Oops. Most of mine are still OK, but I'll go back and tag the horizontal-format motivational parodies (480 pixels)

Edit: After doing some tweaks and font changes on my motivators/demotivators, I reduced the final size slightly (to 320x400), so they fit within a 400-pixel limit in either orientation (and also because that's about as large as the images that came from the comic rather than Rob's blowup gallery can be enlarged without artifacts becoming obvious).

I haven't ever seen that rule enforced in an image thread. I think that it's unofficially treated like posting unhidden spoilers in a clearly-labeled spoiler thread. It certainly wouldn't hurt to follow it, though.

The first panel of #52 could have the caption "Victory -- only later do you realize that you are, in fact, totally booped."

Or the last panel of #60: "Desperation -- You are now officially booped. Good luck."
