Forgive my paranoia, but I'm wondering how we're all going to find each other. Will someone be wearing a badge that says "I love Stick figures"? Will someone be wearing a white carnation? Especially since I'll be there late and will probably have to meet you all at the restaurant.

Hmm. I'm thinking to get down to the restaurant about a half-hour early, so I'll hang around in an easily spottable area... Just look for a 17 year old kid with short brown hair and a beard, in a red shirt and hoodie.

I'll approach any confused looking strangers and ask them if they're in the playground or somesuch.

Also, I think the only part of the restaurant where they can seat 14 people is right near the front. We'll likely be the largest group there.

I thought of making wanted posters from the You thread, but that seems too much like work. But if the restaurant isn't that big it shouldn't be too hard (I was just envisioning walking around asking a lot of people about sticks and getting strange looks).

ok, there was some silly. my wife decided at 11 last night to finally tell me she felt a bit to worried about me goin to cleveland by myself, so this morning (saturday) i've been calling people, everyone has plans. so i call the contact number i was PMed, wake someone up (sorry) and tell them i can't make it.

then my parents call and want to watch the kido. so now my wife can come with me. so i'll be a few hours later than planned.

she's not trying to cause troubble, she's just really quiet about what concerns her. but we'll be there if anyone has internet access and whatnot, tell Alarra or Zeb to expect a call, they're the contact numbers i was given.




Edit: we came, we saw, we enjoyed. sorry we were only there for a short while, having a child and no planned sitter untill the day of will do that to you.

my only regret is not getting to play the otts board game, but there's always another meetup a while down the road.

PS: you know how hard it is to explain to someone "yea, i'm driving out to cleveland to find a group of people i've never met before, and all we know for sure is we read the same comic strips, but it's ok, it'll be fun."

I had a blast, and I wish to thank everyone for letting me come and making me feel welcomed.

Things I have learned from my first Meetup

• Smellie Hippie beer can be listed as a explosive device when first opened.
• Smellie Hippie beer is really good after recovering from the burns from reading the note that came with them
• Rock Band Rocks! Especially with the other Panda's.
• Certain people are really good at poker
• Ego-Slayer is Evil!!!*
• In-Person death scenes are most amusing!
• Cleveland lake-effect snow is very evil
• Most Important of All - Everyone is awesome! If only the weekend could have lasted longer.

I have arrived safely home after one of the funnest weekends in my life. This was a truly awesome meetup (despite the missing Hippie & Faerie)!
