Renatus simply snorts contemptuously when the subject of the gods comes up. Honestly, he thinks, it sounds like I'm being approached by the wrong side here...
"Currency is of little importance to us, at least from the likes of you all, anyway. What we can offer is incredibly sophisticated but it will take time and we can only afford to commission one for each of you. Whatever it is choose wisely. We'll send someone to fetch your requests from you later." Merrick looks to the other Paladin with an anxious expression and then back to the lot of you. "For now though go find a place to hole up in town. We all ready have hiding places provided for you if you want and we'd ask that you stick together till we try to move you out of the city. There's spies and assassins everywhere, even among our allies."

"All of it will be paid in full." Merrick pulls a pouch from out of his satchel that looks seemingly empty and hands it to Damien. "Careful with this.. It's more then you'd think." In addition he pulls out a small unmarked letter and hands one to each of you. "Directions to a number of safe houses within the city. Don't lose them as we probably won't speak again for some time. Until then," Merrick gives you all a half-hearted wave goodbye with his hands and turns, taking his leave.
Awfully rude, isn't he? his companion follows shortly in tow, his ethereal voice sullen.

He takes a short, depreciatory look at rash. "Theres a time for combat and a time to wait for further orders. A disciplined soldier can hold back when hes been ordered to lay low."
With those words he sheates his greatsword again before he takes a look at the letter with the safe houses.
