I would like to congratulate the thread starter on taking such a sneaky approach in voicing the unspoken concerns over the long gap between comics without approaching the subject directly, violating forum rules and getting the thread locked. Well played, sir.

And grief counseling would also be appreciated in addition to the cake.

No matter how you phrase it, this is still just a "The comic's updating slowly and we want more." thread. Everybody knows it.

Prepare for lock.

I give Deep-fried Twinkies slathered in butterscotch and whipped cream. And spumoni ice cream, because spumoni is a fun word to say...maybe even more so than the word "hugbees."

I hope not. Shutting down threads whining about delays is one thing, but shutting down a thread offering free cake is just plain barbaric.

You fail at math forever.

There are exactly 10 days between the 24th and the day this thread was posted. They are the 25th, the 26th, the 27th, the 28th, the 29th, the 30th, the 1st, the 2nd, the 3rd, and the 4th.

That is less than two weeks, incidentally, much less three.

Thirty days hath September,
April, June, and November;
All the rest have thirty-one,
Excepting February alone,
Which hath twenty-eight days clear,
And twenty-nine in each leap year.

So, I make that 11 days.

In fact, if you allow for the fact that I am on GMT then it is 12 days as the posting was made on 05-Nov-2009 12:09AM GMT.

(Still less than 2 weeks, though...)

If it was any month besides October that you missed the 31st in, i would of forgiven you, but seriously? You don't know the date of Halloween?

Sheriff of Moddingham: In much the same way as the Forum Rules generally can't be "gamed," there is no clever way to evade the clear prohibition on discussion the comic update schedule. If even part of your post is about the schedule or if the thread seems inclined to head that way, it's going to be locked.

When there's an announcement about about the timing of the comic or anything personal Rich wants to share, it'll be on the News Page or in a very obvious thread here.

Until then, these threads bring out mostly people saying not to post on this topic, people saying they should be allowed to post on the topic, people trying to derail the thread to subtly prevent people from posting on the topic, and complaints, defenses, and wild speculation. None of which helps Rich or you. Not even when it comes with internet cake.
