Spells of the same level are selected at random. The bursts should be 20ft, not 30ft (my bad). One of the dispels is smaller because it is a targeted dispel, rather than an area dispel.

Though I'm not a target of a dispel magic, I've asked for that information twice so I can determine if I was damaged way back in round 3. I'm just assuming haste and fly were included.

Re: The Battle of Black Rock OOC
So, I've been trying to keep this game flowing at a round per day. I don't know how many rounds it's going to last, but this was the second of eight leaders just killed,so I'm going to go with between 75% and 80% left. If the pace is too slow, we will never finish this mammoth battle. Too fast and no one will have the chance to act.
I have a few things to fix on the map today. I will delay posting round 7 until tomorrow night. I have a few questions on buffs, and the war weaver seems to have been out. I will try to work through everything today and give everyone the chance to catch up to round 6.

Re: The Battle of Black Rock OOC
Hi all,
Neoseph was kind enough to let me join the fray. I will be taking over Sheila Soulfire, the warmage. I'm looking forward to some interesting times here in Black Rock
I am now re-creating a character sheet for Sheila, making some changes in order to give her some more staying power (thanks Neoseph for allowing this). I'm no expert but I hope I can make a few improvements here and there, without changing the fundamentals. I will be following Delandel's advice and buy scrolls and (retroactively) ask better casters than me read them for me. Thomas and Oolar have had some free time before the battle, right ? I'll give you a link to the new sheet asap.

Re: The Battle of Black Rock OOC
So you're going to figure out which spells are eligible for dispelling, then roll a number here which will determine which of the highest level will be dispelled from the separate spells? Ok then.
Mind Blank CL15
See the Unseen CL15
Entropic Warding CL15
Fell Flight CL15
Energy Immunity CL13
Heroes' Feast CL11
Stoneskin CL7
Protection from Evil CL?
Edit; Hello Gwynfrid.
Also, which token is the cleric?

Re: The Battle of Black Rock OOC
Just a note for Marius - I was delaying my second casting of Song of Discord until the enemy troops moved. I don't know if you're going to rule they did that before the dispel, but it was at the end of your post.
I don't have a problem if it's still zapped out, I was just kind of hoping that it would still prove useful. Anyways! on to round six.

OK, Sheila's sheet is mostly ready (I still need to check the skills and update modifiers for them). Please check out the link below.

Protection from evil is a first level spell. If it is the result of a potion or scroll, the CL is 1.
Mind Blank CL15 Dispel: (1d20+14)[18]
See the Unseen CL15: (1d20+14)[28]
Entropic Warding CL15: (1d20+14)[15]
Fell Flight CL15: (1d20+14)[23]
Energy Immunity CL13: (1d20+14)[28]
Heroes' Feast CL11: (1d20+14)[15]
Stoneskin CL7: (1d20+14)[25]
Protection from Evil CL?: (1d20+14)[24]
The first roll to beat the DC (CL+11) dispels that spell.
Thomas is the cleric. Kal, the Planetar, is also a Cleric. IIRC, Xanian is very close to Thomas's current position (which is why he didn't want you raising dead ).
Edit: See the unseen is dispeled (oh what a horrible fate! You lost a whole standard action to recast an 'at will' SLA ).

The dispels occur at the top of round 6. The second song of discord is in round 5.
About Song of Discord: For most of the party's attacks and spells, against level one mooks they either hit and kill or a nat one saves them. Sometimes, even then. For the mooks, only nat 20s hit with no possibility of crit. This is not true when PCs fight leaders and specials, or when mooks. fight. mooks. Prior to a fireball and holy smite, the location of the second Song of Discord effected as many enemy units as possible (as per your request, which was cool). I then have to roll each unit (1) to check for nat 20s on the will save and (2) to check for the 50% to attack their allies. If they fail both, then I have to micromanage. Fortunatly, only the archers get attacks since the melee usually doubled moved, but there are still the AOOs for firing a ranged weapon within melee distance. It makes a mess that takes 2 hours to solve, and while I have had the time to string it out lately, I foresee not having this time soon. Please don't cast that spell any more. I don't mean to be a jerk, and I really do like how the bards are holding their own (all the SOD units are not attacking the party, which can easily mean one less hit on average, about 5.5 damage saved; and then 1/10th of the SOD group dies off from AOOs or unfriendly fire). I won't make any attempt to stop a player from playing how they want to other than provide incentive or make humble pleas. If you cast another song of discord, I won't pull out a beholder with each eye socket dedicated to Disjunction to counter it. That would be unfair. Please use somewhat more direct attack means. This isn't a DM mandate. Just a request.

Dimension Door doesn't allow you to take any actions until the start of your next turn. That includes free actions and even immediate actions. However, the wyvern and the saddle are accustomed and designed (respectively) to accomodate Dimension Door riders. On your next turn, you will need a handle animal check to not have the Wyvern attempt to kill you. The saddle on the wyvern has many functions, one of which makes the wyvern count as medium for the purposes of dimension door. It also forces a will saving throw penalty for enchament [mind affecting] spells, such as charm monster and dominate monster (presumably so that mages utterly incapable of riding a pony can easily ride atop a flying sub dragon. This information comes about via spellcraft. If marius doesn't have this skill, use magic device lets him know about the basic effects.
The saddle also carries saddle bags. Inside are 2 Heal tiles (function like potions but are wondrous magical items), two wands and a staff. This exchange is close enough to Oolar that one of you are bound to know, and I don't feel like pulling out the "who's magic item is it anyway" routine.
The wands are for haste and fly. They have 19 and 32 charges respectively. The staff is of conjuration and has 7 charges left.
Of note, the wyvern is currently hasted.

Re: The Battle of Black Rock OOC
Okay - awesome, thank you for the clarification on the Wyvern thing - I wasn't sure how that would work. so I'll worry about that handle animal thing next round. And as far as your request for no more Songs of Discord - that is completely acceptable, it was fun while it lasted, and I'd only have 1 spell of high enough level to cast it again - I'd rather save that.
Anyways. Superb! I've got a psuedo-dragon, thingy. WOOT!
Now to figure out what I want to do with it. hmm....

I didn't mean to sound like a jerk about it. I hate taking freedom away from the players. It feels so counter intuitive to the D&D game. At the same time, I forgot something as crucial as mentioning the leader was dead. It's not like I didn't know. I Deleted his HP and left the token there for the armored razor boar. I didn't forget to mention this because of the Song of Discord. I have chronic insomnia turning me into a zombie (w00t double HD ) to thank for that. The delay in round 7 is as much for my benefit as for the rest of the party.

Re: The Battle of Black Rock OOC
nah, you didn't sound like a jerk - no worries. I know what the sleep problems can be like though. I'm not an insomniac, but I just did a sleep study the other day and found out what was wrong with me.
Turns out the whole, hour to hour and a half REM sleep is important every night. You know, what an average person gets? Yeah.
I'm lucky to hit 2 minutes/night. Really sucks. But - like insomnia, you learn to live with it, 'cause THC isn't socially acceptable, nor permitted in my job. (I guess it's the best medicine to get your brain to drop into REM cycle. Interesting)

Re: The Battle of Black Rock OOC
Doz dead already ? No worries. With any luck, the fireball takes down his boar, making Kal's life easier. Doz was more of a secondary target anyway.
All right, I updated my sheet with skills, spells per day and DC data. I also made Sheila LG (more in line with an army mindset) and wrote a few description lines for flavor. I think I'm done, PM me with comments if you see any problems.
I saw Simba was using bold black for Sheila, I hope that's OK. Otherwise I'll change.
I still need to post a list of buffs for you to try and dispel
I also have a bunch of questions regarding those mages on wyverns, I think I did not understand the description very well. I'll do that later tonight or in the morning.
Good luck with the sleep issue, that can be a bummer.

I just hope my claws arent dispelled.
Hey, haven't a few dozen archers died since the battle started? Maybe you could loot a bow and some arrows, I'll do the same with a melee weapon.
