Absolutely nothing dramatic happens, but it'd be fun to see the characters drawn in your style while they're just being their usual, charmingly incompetent selves.

i'd honestly prefer to see right before that, when Miko goes psycho and kills Shojo.

Originally they were by request, but that was months ago.
Elagune went on hiatus for quite some time, but has come back and asked for a new request. As of yet, we do not know if any particular sequence has been chosen.

Neither. He took requests at the start but once everyone posted one he cancelled that. And since not all of OotS strips give themselves to a manga translation he basically picks strips he thinks will survive the transition safely.
