Our theme this month is...
It's... Magic!
Magic means something different to each of us. Some see wizards shooting lightening bolts, others a dragon flying overhead, some a knight in shining armor beneath the light of the triple moons. Show us what magic means to you, be it sorcery, strange beasts, or fantastical vistas. What if all the OOTS characters multi-classed to casting classes? What if someone famous developed magical prowess? We want to see the magic!
Remember: All artwork must be your own. Do not take, alter, or use any of the The Giant's art. Thanks. Categories
There will be a First through Third place award for each of the following:
Best Magician (anything roughly avatar size) Best Magical Creature (as above, but a creature that is magical, instead of casting magic. A Wizard did it!) Best Fantasy Scene (anything bigger than ^) Best Magical Display/Magic Trick (the greatest display of forces) Best Rookie Entry (only applicable to those who have never entered these competitions before)
And, as always, the Best Overall award.
I'll also voice my opinion on which entry is the most kick-awesome in the form of a VT's Choice Award, which may be anything that tickles my fancy or was shamelessly tailored to my tastes (I approve of shamelessessness).
Rules
1. All entries must be posted by September 30th at Noon Eastern Standard Time.
2. Every entry must include a bolded introduction as to what category you are trying to enter in.
3. Every entry must include an itallic introduction as to what your entry is.
For example: Best Magical Creature A Wizard Did It
4.Do not use spoilers. It makes the judge's job that much harder, and they may do you harm.
5.Only the avatarist who created the avatar may submit it.
6. Please do not quote images. The entry/name will suffice.

Finally my chance to get back into Iron Avatarist I gotta get started early.
Such a great theme, and I have no time because it's the last year of school, I was sick for a week and missed out a lot of stuff... Well, at least I can do this:

Just you and Kpenguin mostly. Serp only volunteered for last month's trophies.
Now, our operation is small, but there's a lot of potential for "aggressive" expansion. So, which one of you fine gentlemen would like to do trophies for our team? Oh, there's only one spot open right now, so we're gonna have... tryouts!

You often see stuff with faces on them change too fit their wearer's mood in comics. I'm crafting a theory on why, currently split between "evil clothing-conspiracy" and "new magic pet trend"
Hi everybody! I'm Keveak and this is my first post in Iron Avatarist.
Of course that mean lots of annoying questions ():
Do the art have to be OotS style?
What qualities will the pictures be judged by?
Can I have some pie?
Is there any initiation rituals or other minor social rituals I should know of?

Number one is answered to the best of my ability: if VT says something different, that's the ruling.
1. I'm pretty sure the art has to be close to OotS (or Erf? I believe VT said that Erf style stuff is accepted as long as it's hosted on GitP) style. I mean, if you look at, say, Domochevsky's stuff, or Felyndiira's, it's similar, but also quite strikingly different in some places. Until VT comes and confirms it though, probably best to stick with the sticks, if you know what I mean.
Yup, OotS or Erf, but you can get away with quite large tweaks, so I do suggest you go and look at Domochevsky and Felyndiira's stuff and you'll see what I mean.
2. The pictures are basically picked by whatever takes the judge's fancy. Blatant pandering is accepted (and I personally encourage it ). Many judges, including myself have stated that they'll often go for a technically worse entry because they prefer the idea over a technically better one.
3. Only if you enter.
4. Make sure to tag all your entries in your first competition with both Best Rookie Entry and a category, DON'T FRIGGING SPOILER IMAGES IT IS VERY ANNOYING, blatant pandering, as I said, is encouraged, make sure to format entries like in the first post's example (and please give things titles, coming up with variations on "untitled" can be fun, but it's not very helpful) and most of all: YOU WILL HAVE FUN. THAT'S AN ORDER.
