Personally, I think itbecause she tries not to show weakness around her gang buddies. If she started acting all freindly with them they might think she's going soft. It could be a combination of the two though

But yes, I agree. The "Eve is acting tough in front of the Page Gang" sounds much more believable to me.

Personally I think it may be more along the lines of punch clock villainy, but without actually being a villain. In short, she's just doing her job as a member of the gang, and when she's with Ben, she gets to relax. Might be along the lines of acting tough, but not sure if it is actually an issue of 'going soft'.

Since when does Occam's Razor apply to manga plotlines, though? More often than not, the more convoluted and incomprehensible, the more likely it is to be true.
