Ermine, seeing most people are deadtimed, hops off her chair and wanders off to the bookies. She collects the money she bet and then some, arguing that since Len walked away, Riv won. If anyone tries to deny her, her argument changes to "I've got a gun and it'sh pointed at ye.".

After the two fighters leave, Dexter sighs audibly over the loudspeaker. "I must apologize folks, it seems few people are willing to kill each other these days." He pauses dramatically. "Perhaps...perhaps people are learning to leave their evil and immoral ways, forgoing violence in favor of love and diplomacy."

The audience sits there, too stunned to speak at Dexter's words.

Finally he cracks up laughing. "Don't worry! I was just joking. Those two were just a bunch of hypocrite losers. I'll be sure to send a couple people after them so we can have a proper fight later, but for now..."

"Bring out the next contestants and put on your ponchos! It's time for BLOOD!"

What the hell! I'm still here you moron! And I'm still waitin for that Exalted to undeadtime so I can kick her *** out of this dimension! So if any of you have a problem with my fighting style, you can come down and get a taste of it!

[The Alexandrian]

At this challenge a man clad in white armor (Full breastplate, greaves, inlaid gauntlets, and etc) springs from the stands into the arena. He draws a jagged katana and shouts, "You've got quite a mouth there, boy. Maybe someone should teach you some manners!"

[Wolfbane]

Dexter sighs. "Of course you are." he says, rolling his eyes, as if he never left him out of the statement. "But your partner is deadtimed, and the Audience does need it's dose of blood after all..."

He doesn't seem bothered at all by the yelling. "So, step aside for now, and let the merry ticketpayers watch some massive critters fight each other for a bit. I'll be sure you get some popcorn and a free Magplush while you wait."

He then raises an eyebrow. "Unless you'd rather fight the new guy. But then you won't get the Magplush."

Name the conditions!

[The Alexandrian]

"Volcano arena. We fight to the point where someone surrenders. Scorched Earth tactics allowed. Healing in the Arena disallowed. Other rules standard. No summoning etc. Let's do this!"
Alpha responds to the disgruntled challenger in the ring.

[Wolfbane]

"Sorry, but if you want a volcano, you'll have to roll it on the Wheel of Death. We try not to cause too much damage to our facility here." Dexter, the Announcer of the Arena says, gesturing at the wheel rising out of the ground. "And it must be turned before the fight starts."

Sounds good to me. Riv says, swappig out Ragnarok for a sword and standard issue death-ray.

[The Alexandrian]

"A death ray? How primitive," the man laughs, "I use one of these." He pulls out a Tachyon Pulse Rifle dubbed "Grimace." Then, he proceeds to the wheel and spins it.

[Wolfbane]

The wheel spins and spins and begins to slow down...

The point nears the Fire/Lava match symbol, a Flame drawn above a mountain, but then the wheel halts right before it.

On a snowflake.

Dexter laughs as he pulls his hand out of his pocket and away from the remote that stopped the wheel early (What? he likes having a little fun too. ). "I hope you put on your booties, because it's about to get cold inside..."

Magic and technology crackle and hum through the Arena's air, and snow begins to fall. Big lazy flakes that drift slowly all over the place.

But then wind begins to howl, and it becomes a roaring blizzard. Dexter's voice is barely audible over the wind. "Fight!"

[The Alexandrian]

"These conditions are horrid for fighting in conventionally. This snow is so thick I can't see my hand in front of my face! Maybe if I switch configure my thermals I can find my foe." Alpha thinks as he adjusts his thermals by using his neural interface to alter the settings of his helmet. He begins to see a blob of red in the distance. "There you are." he whispers to himself as he buries part of his body into the snow for camouflage purposes. Alpha takes a deep breath, exhales, then takes a shot at his opponent with his pulse rifle. He is nearly perfectly camouflaged with the snow as his armor is white making this an opportune place for ambushing an opponent.

Riv meanwhile has plans of his own. Water is a superconducter, snow is frozen water, and I have lots of electricty to conduct. Why not? With this he throws a device into the snow, a small bolt of electricity arcing out of it to a snowflake as he does so, and to another, and another and...... Oh, **** the entire snowstorm is now a thundercage. Grnning in smug satisfaction, Riv begins to stomp through the snow, firing at anything suspicious with his death-ray.

[The Alexandrian]

"Battle Suit taking shock damage." The computer announced. "Deploy the energy shields, use the electron shielding unit to reflect the electrons from this unit." Alpha commanded. "This bugger is just stomping around in the distance acting like a fool. Well, if he thinks he can do something this insane and still survive, he has another thing coming to him." Alpha places a fusion reactor into the ground then moves away from the area. "The light and heat will melt the snow and draw that brute's attention. When he notices it he will be within the blast radius then, I will detonate it and that will be the end of this ordeal." Alpha also attaches a precision scope to his rifle and monitors where the opponent is in the arena, taking aim and firing once when an opportunity presented itself.

Do you really think I'm that stupid?! Riv shouts above the snow, unfazed by the electricity or the heat. We'll see who's shields give out first shall we? With this he lies down and tries to doze off.

[The Alexandrian]

Alpha stands up and fires a charged burst from his tachyon pulse rifle aimed directly at Riv's head. He then fires a focused beam of energy that his suit captured from the energy in the environment directly at Riv by focusing the electrical energy to the front of his shields. Since this beam is receiving a nearly limitless supply of energy from the environment, it will only cease firing once the electricity has dispersed from the snow-filled environment.

(Okay, I gotta ask, how does this rifle work? Tachyons are not lethal in and of themselves.)

The charged burst deflects away from Riv at the last second, hitting a nearby snowdrift instead. The electro-beam on te other hand hit's and does nothing. Riv picks himself up from the snow and begins to speak. What say you we drop the shields. Quite un-sportsmanlike.

(Tachyons are subatomic charged particles moving at the speed of light but the pulse aspect of the rifle deals with energy which supercharges the particles to the point that they are energized particles which revert back to solids as they lose energy. It damages foes by spewing millions of these particles essentially creating a beam of energy which reverts back into a solid, sometimes within said foe acting like bullets as they would most likely cluster as they reformed. The tachyon element of the weapon only describes the beam, not the ammo. It was a strange weapon I incorporated into one of my writings in the past so I am attempting to utilize it now.)

"I would truly enjoy fighting more sportsmanlike. In addition to dropping our shields, what say you to additionally fighting with swords for a time. Additionally, the fusion reactor seems to be melting the snow into water so we will be fighting in more ideal conditions."

Alpha tosses his rifle aside and lowers his shield while drawing his katana.

Sounds a lot better than tromping around in snow to me. Says Riv, shutting off his shields, removing his bulletproof lab coat/duster and shutting off the lightning generator. I do warn you though, I have recently become extremely hard to kill. With this he adopts a defensive pose.

"I have no intention of killing you, I merely want to maim you. It would be such a pity to lose one as honorable as yourself." Alpha takes up an offensive stance. "Regardless, I need the practice and the harder you are to kill the longer you can duel without suffering negative effects. Oddly enough, it seems as if our fighting styles are polar opposites"

(Hope the tachyon thing made a little sense.)

(Just wanted to know whether it was actually a weapon or one of those completely unscientific gizmos where tachyon means deux ex machina)

You have no idea just how different my style is. Riv's says, tapping a button on his belt, the tune from Ziggy Stardusts "Starman" coming on as he does so.

Sadly I have to deadtime though, so I can't show off my awesome kung-fu till later.

"My fighting music sounds like this." Alpha states while toggling his helmet to play music. With no warning, Kinslayer begins to play.

Ermine reaches into her hat and pulls out a cape made of silky white fur. It is obviously made to fit a human, so the ermine wraps it around herself. Is cold!

"Good luck." Alpha yells as he deactivates his music and some of his armor plating drops off thus exposing lighter armor underneath for increased mobility with decent protection.
