Re: Crack Pairings V - We Revel in Infamy
Being evil is hardly a problem.
There's a difference between "evil" and "Homicidal Psycho who kills you on sight without even trying to communicate (Like Belkar for example)"
The former of the two i am more than willing to deal with.
And considering that Tiamat is LAWFUL Evil...
Besides, i can be quite the manipulative evil little bastard myself at timesLast edited by Closak; 2010-01-10 at 08:29 AM.

Re: Crack Pairings V - We Revel in Infamy
That could be a problem yes.
But lawful neutral leaning heavily towards evil? (As in me)
I'm only just barely on the neutral side of the Good/Evil axis to begin with, all it takes to drop me into the Evil category is a little push from the right direction.

One possibilty yes.
Another thing that could push me over the edge would be if someone made me very very angry.
Or if they gave me a fat bribe (You are saying i can have massive magical AND political power if i join the side of evil? Okay!)Last edited by Closak; 2010-01-10 at 08:35 AM.

Re: Crack Pairings V - We Revel in Infamy
Oh, is it already time for another exciting installment of "Boy or Girl"?
Well, in the case of Kyuubi...
A quick google search reveals that Kyuubi is the name of a demon that is listed as an "it", so that doesn't help.
Kyuubi is dating a female (likely a point towards being male, as was already stated).
But the avatar is female.
However, men are something like twice as likely as women to gender-bend their avatars in online games, and I assume that applies to forums as well. So that doesn't help.
On the other hand, Most Fanfic Writers Are Girls.
But Kyuubi hasn't written anything yet.

Re: Crack Pairings V - We Revel in Infamy
well I haven't for two reasons.
A. I'm pretty bad at writing stories.
B. I'm still not sure if I'm allowed to ship myself with Tsukiko(probably not going to actually do this.)
oh and remember. Kyuubi is the name of a nine tailed fox.
and out of 3 D&D games I'm playing two of the characters are male.

Re: Crack Pairings V - We Revel in Infamy
Wow, you guys are fast. Some more good stuff has gone up.
@Yiuel Yay! We have names. I like the thought that you put into them. I know that it can be difficult. I have plenty of nameless characters. I appreciate the Tolkien influence as you may gather from my name. Q: Is the “ng” in Ngoc pronounced like “ring” or “fungi”?
It seems that people like my Haley x Celia fic more than I expected. Mwahahahaha My plan to make people think that I’m a competent writer is succeeding. Seriously though, its great to get the practice. Especially seing as though I need it with romance. (Thanks very much, those who liked it)
I hope Discord will miss us and come back.
What would also be cool is if someone made some tables of the new plot devices. Hint, hint.
Anyway, ShinyDelusion (who is really good for my ego) has expressed interest in seeing my Roy x Eugene fic so here it is:
SpoilerRoy stood triumphantly over the smashed phylactery. He smiled and said, “Alright men…and women…and V, tonight we’re celebrating!”
Roy collapsed from exhaustion onto his bed after all the festivities. He was glad that they decided to get separate rooms tonight. He was about to start undressing when he realised that he wasn’t alone. “Father!” he yelled, “What are you doing here?”
“You defeated Xykon.” came the reply, “You fulfilled the Blood Oath of Vengeance allowing me to pass on, yet I don’t want to yet.”
“What do you mean?” asked Roy.
“I never expected that you would be the one to do it.” Eugene answered, “I never really appreciated you, yet you managed to do it. I’m really sorry about that and I’m proud of you. I’m sorry for the favouritism I showed and how I insulted your choice of class. I want to watch over you, to spend time with you, to make up for our past. I love you son. I’m sorry that I never made that clear before, I want to show you.”
“Awww, Dad. I love you too, but I had to stop Xykon to save the world.” Roy replied
“I know son.” said Eugene, “and that makes me so proud. How you care for others and what you’re willing to do for them. Let me hold you son.” With that they embraced. It was the affection that Roy had always wanted from his father. The fact that Eugene was incorporeal made him feel…airy..like Celia. Roy liked the feeling very much. “Roy I can’t stay with you forever, but let’s make this night worthy of remembrance.” Eugene suggested.
“Yes Dad, lets.” came the reply.
Wow that was really odd, yet surprisingly fun to write.
EDIT: @Kyuubi If you ship yourself with someone, you won't be the first.
EDIT: And Coffee, I just want to say that I find Janine hilarious.Last edited by Sereg; 2010-01-10 at 09:32 AM.

Re: Crack Pairings V - We Revel in Infamy
Being a veteran follower of Tolkien's Secret Vice (conlanging and conworlding), I have learned to give some thought to things like names and settings. That's why, in part, I did not want to mess up the names. I'm happy with the final results.
And "Ng" in Ngoc is pronounced as in "ring", that is /ŋ/. There's no hard g (/g/) in there. Like many Vietnamese names.
(And doesn't your nickname mean "Blood"? Ouf!)
Kyuubi : You nickname is transparent. You have nine (九) tails (尾). Could be fun for our tail fetishistLast edited by Yiuel; 2010-01-10 at 10:07 AM.

Re: Crack Pairings V - We Revel in Infamy
Uhm... greetings.
I've been lurking since around middle 4th thread (when I've finally managed to catch up) and have played with the thought of joining the forums to join you... And then my muse whacked me, told me to roll a pairing and write it... so here I am...
I have some characterization problems so I've probably slipped out of character somewhere, but please have mercy and give me critique.
MitD x Xykon, cut for your viewing pleasure (and AU because I missed a passage about where MitD lived before it met Xykon when I wrote this.)
Spoiler"Say...", began O-Chul. How did you meet Xykon? Just curious."
"..."
"If you don't want to tell me it's fine."
"He's... was... a childhood friend. I think my earliest memory of him is he bombing my sandcastle in kindergarten."
"I guess he has always been mean."
"No, no! We were playing fort under siege. It was his idea because I'm no good at thinking up games. But he always knew funny ones. Wanna hear?"
"If you want to tell, Monster-san"
"Okay. One of the funniest things was when Xykon was about 17... There was this tavern. All modern and such. Not only looking for barmaids, but also for waiters. Something about gender equality. Can't remember it well. So Xykon says we need money for prank stuff and should go work there. Didn't know how he wanted to have enough time because at that time he studied hard for magic college entry exams. That's what he told me. I didn't like being near that tavern, the owner would always yell at me, but Xykon was always strong and charismatic so I followed him. And then he asked the owner if we could get a part-time job as waiters. The owner looked at us in a strange way and then she started laughing. I still don't know why...". The MitD frowned. "In between two fits of laughter, I think I understood something about not having anough figure... Xykon must've understood her too because he answered that figure doesn't matter if you have the face for it... What?"
"N-nothing. Continue, please."
"Okay. She stopped laughing at that. The following expression was... strange... it's the same Xykon has nowadays, you know?"
"...Yes."
"We were given uniforms then. They looked really nice, but I had problems putting mine on, especially with the stuffing, so Xykon helped me."
"Stuffing."
"Yes, why?", the MitD replied a bit confused.
"..."
"I think they called it a 'French Maid costume'... You can't imagine how good Xykon looked in his."
"..."
"Mr. Stiffy? Hey, Mr. Stiffy?"
"..."
"Nuts. Xykon will be mad at me for telling the story... And I still don't know why everyone that knows it looks at me this way..."
Edit: cut out that little surprise.Last edited by Eztheria; 2010-01-10 at 11:20 AM.

Re: Crack Pairings V - We Revel in Infamy
Eztheria: Pfff-hahaha! Good job. All dialogue, which is interesting, but really doesn't work for more than two characters. I honestly think it would work better if you didn't reveal Xykon's "uniform" until the end, though. That way we can share O'Chul's shock.
Other than that, welcome, welcome. If you can keep up with the day to day movements of the thread, well then good job, because I certainly can't.

You're looking too hard at the names. I believe Rich is on record as saying Lien isn't intentionally Vietnamese, he just put together a bunch of sounds that came out vaguely asian for most of Azure City.
Shipping yourself is likely fine, since IIRC someone shipped themselves with Dracula in one of the early threads.[/sarcasm]
