Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
You're going to take a reading hiatus now? It's just about to reach the climax of the rooftop.
Well, at least "Gil" has explained his reasoning to her. But I'm not sure he's telling the truth about the robots being set to kill her. Gil knows that his father keeps his word, and secretly setting the robots to kill her would be a betrayal of that. Plus if the robots were secretly set to kill, why would it be reassuring to take her back to the man who set them like that?
EDIT: Oh right, re-reading that, yeah, the robots were only going to kill if Gil fails. That makes more sense.
It is odd that Agatha is holding her own in the fight. Gil could almost certainlybeathereasily. I'm sure he doesn't actually want to hit her, but he should at least be able to dodge her blows.
Here's one other thing which might come up. Gil is in love with Agatha, which wouldn't be a bit surprise to her, but he hasn't actually told it to her face yet.

It's hard to engage in dramatic acrobatics and powerful knock-out blows while trying to keep your balance on top of a slick pitched roof at night in the rain

Opps Edit. Those robots where there to kill Agatha if Gil failed and she tried to escape.

He may have well intentional took the blow rather than take to much action. Notice he doges the others.
I REALLY hope Gil's next line is something like "SO WHAT!". I think Agatha has lost it somewhat.
Fopr some reason this whole situation reminds me of smething from Othat's Twitter account.
Spoiler
Othar finds a destroyed city in the future and it sounds a LOT like someone used a nuclear weapon or something very similar. Could the Baron have one already right now?

Smooth move Gil, way to push her into Tarvek's arms. And I don't think it's a misunderstanding that will get cleared up or that it's "not really Gil". He acted the exact same way before.
The first time he could rationalize that she was alone and vulnerable and he had reasons to believe she had no chance of survival without his protection. But here, he did it after she demonstrated she was at least his equal in every way. Even if she forgives him she is going to have trouble trusting him again
I think that taking control is just the only way he knows to be protective, and that's a character trait that he will have to fix if he is ever going to have stable relationship with Agatha. It always rubbed her the wrong way, but now that she is the head of a city-state, she just cant take the chance that he'll forcefully get her out of the action when her people need her.
Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
OK, I'm willing to agree this MIGHT be the real Gil, if Gil A) Is absolutely convinced his father is going to win and Agatha has no chance of escape; B) Has somehow concluded neither his father OR himself have been Wasped; and C) Has been taking stupid pills. Agatha has proven she is VERY good at getting out of tight corners and avoiding the Baron; there would be nothing to prevent her from fleeing Mechanicsburg disguised as a refugee and starting up elsewhere if she can't pull an unexpected ace out and beat Klaus. Although it is possible Gil is more trying to rescue her from Tarvek, suspicions of whom Klaus might have inflamed. As to the Wasping bit, while Gil was confused about all that, he SHOULD by now have realized Agatha has been giving him direct orders and he's been ignoring them, while the fairy tale Klaus told the Professor certainly makes it sound like Klaus is infected. If Gil thought the latter were true, though, capturing Agatha for his father would be the LAST thing he'd do. And stupid pills because he's really bungling this. He's making mistake after mistake. Not the least in the things he's saying. If this IS Gil, he's either failing big time, or deliberately trying to throw the fight (in which case he's being very successful). Or this is someone or something pretending to be Gil and not doing very well...
