Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
Well, technically it currently means uncivilised. But I stand by its etymological roots! A barbarian is one who goes "Bar-bar-bar"!
Your mountain home has been occupied by the Shades. You now seek to clear it of these devil-spawn, so you can get back to sleep.
And if you do want to stick with Thryza, then I'd advise thinking about motivations in FFF 2: Future Imperfect, as FFF is building up towards winding down at the moment.Last edited by Keris; 2009-01-06 at 09:45 PM.

@BRC and Crimsonangel: Crimson appears as a crew member in the Skornbail Incident. I have a perfect comic, but it requires that we wait until the gang has beaten the second level.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
Let me draw your attention to this comic.
I worked hard on this comic, took over two hours to draw and much longer to envisage. You will notice that during it I inserted a sword of reasonable size into Gremlin.
There were three comics following mine, none of which included me, which in and of itself was unsurprising. What was surprising is that they failed even to include the sword. Swords are not difficult to draw. I had a well-made comic with a good reason for its existence, and it was summarily ignored.I am the golden shadow. I am the Ninja Chocobo

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
I didn't ignore it, Gremlin did. Take it up with him.
And my point was regarding introduction comics, not continuation of plot comics. If someone doesn't like what you've done, they will ignore it. No matter how hard you worked on it, or how important it is to your character, people can be irritatingly lazy sometimes.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
The New Years comics were canon. Look at the last comic, it had them doing the countdown, then him in Schizian territory (part of the plot)

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
Yeah, I just didn't think it would be when I signed Dekopin up, it being a New Year special. I mean, there's no reason why Dekopin couldn't be there, just no real reason why shy would.
Then again, her mischief tends to be of the "just as planned" variety. I mean, she got Fayte to put a Rollerskate at the top of the stairs about a fortnight before you guys even knew about the Vendetta. She could well have, I don't know, passed Zenos his drink, or built up the static charge in the ship with her lightning, leading to the computer malfunction, leading to the teleport. Probably still because of the Catgirl. Or maybe because the Skornbail Incident will lead to another sequence of events that cause even more hilarity...

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
NC, I'm really sorry about ignoring the sword back then. I was kind of a noob back then, always copy-pasting my comics. Sorry.
Also, I guess I'll make the thread. However, because the odds of me being online when the new thread is needed are slim, I'll just leave the title for whoever replaces me.

Or, if that's too long: Avatar Battle Royale XVII: 95% Spam, 5% Meaningful.
Also: CA left? I'd argue that he should stay, but I have no idea why he even departed.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
Beans decided to consider joining ABR, and had criticized CrimsonAngel's OotS style comic at one point. So now CrimsonAngel claims that he has to leave any thread Beans is in. He even posted in Friendly Banter, asking how he can "Kick out the person who kicked me out."
And, factoring in the length of page left, and the relatively small amount of time I have to spend in college tomorrow (2 out of the usual 6 hours. I love only doing Maths, Physics and More Maths...), can I make the new thread if Gremlin's not online?

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
Okay. I'll read the criticism, but I get the feeling that CA completely overreacted. Very few things merit that level of immaturity.
/\Yeah, but he got to make an ABR thread before.
EDIT: Woah. It looks like Beans just offered some criticism. Then, the only other critical post he made was when TnD made some perfectly honest criticism and CA whined and said he'd 'go and set his hand on fire'. You are supposed to encourage criticism, not whine about it!
And Keris, you can go ahead.Just try to use my title.Last edited by The Gremlin; 2009-01-06 at 11:09 PM.

Criticism is good. It keeps your ego in check and helps improve your art, something one should always strive for as an artist.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
Alright, I'm going to make a comic bringing the Qs onto the scene. Should I just assume that blowing a hole in the fortress or creating a hole by crashing the ship into it and destroying it is simply immposible? Because knowlage that I don't have to would seriously affect how the Qs enter the scene.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
I'm gonna be busy at college for about another hour and would very much appreciate it if no-one else grabbed the next thread, so if we hit page 50 keep gabbing until either the mods close it or the new thread is made.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
Well,, you kinda jumped in the middle of it, but we decided that rather than eat souls, they'd catch souls. See, we're talking about what the Ethereal Plane's gonna be like, and we decided that it'd be where the souls who aren't at rest go. Look through the last few pages, it should be there.
So, I'm back. Sorry, Keris.

Wow, this thread is moving slowly.
Will do my comic after school.
EDIT: So, duh when does FI start?
EDIT EDIT: GAH!!! I am going mad with anticipation! Somebody, POST!!!!!

So, what plans do you guys have for your positions in ALF resistance? I mean, we have like 5 or so PC commanders and yet hardly anyone has declared which one they serve under. Personally, I'd go with Olivers' motorbike gang, unless he has anything against it, that is.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
Yay!
Mainly, we just have NPCs serving under the commanders. I don't fight, I generally remain locked in my study searching for Minoblendy's cure. I'm the 'eccentric, really old guy'.
EDIT: By the gods, am I ever gonna be able top make the thread?!
EDIT EDIT: Hey, I seem to recall that somebody once opened a Discussion thread early. Anybody mind if I do that here? We're only, like, one post short of 50.
