*looks up and down thread* I feel proud of what we have created.
RE: Leicester. September when I return to Leicester and uni I'll be able to sort out things.

Not necessarily. if a date is set relatively early, you can get away with very reasonable prices for flights.
There are two airports in the Glasgow area that I could make a run to pick up people at if need be (Glasgow Intl. (GLA) and Prestwick (PIK)).

Also, you could figure in that by going by plane, you will cut down severely on travel time, especially if you're dahn sarth. Either an hour and a bit plane ride from London or a 9 hour train journey.
Could cut down on a night's accommodation, that could.

According to Journey Planner, it's only 6 hours... vive le difference!
However, having done some searches to satisfy my curiousity, if you were to book in October, your plane to and from Glasgow would come in at about 60-70; your train ticket at about 100-140. The train ticket could probably be made cheaper with more looking, the air ticket has a few hidden charges, but still...
Hello, king_clumsy! Welcome to the thread (and the forum in general!)
We are still in the very early phases of planning for the winter meetup. At the moment, the destinations that have been suggested are Leicester, Glasgow and London... with a slight preference for Leicester.
A lot of people move using public transport, so there's no need to worry about that.
If you keep an eye on this thread you can follow all the proceedings

I would think that there will be a new thread popping up in a week or three, that will start the proper discussion of when and where we have the next meet.
This thread is basically in the 'winding down'-phase at the moment.

the first step to when we seriously start considering where we are meeting next time is the start of the new thread. before that it's all banter.
I'm surprised Thu hasn't started one yet... it's only 6 months away!
also: I vote Douglas, IoM.
Edit: Gorram it Archie stop ninjaing me
Double edit: it's not as funny now we've changed avis again.

I disagree, if we hold it on the Isle of man, we may as well go for something really spectacular and hold it at the summit of Snaefell (which even has public transport connections- but might be better suited to a summer meetup) Alternatively we could hold it in Londonderry
If anyone remembers playing Dungeon! (Hamish's board game), I'm hoping to run a game starting September. Currently I'm just sorting things out in preparation, then I'm off on a plane and won't be ready till the end of August.
Is anybody interested in playing? I'd be DM, hoping for a turn a day, and hoping for 4 (max 5, really) players.
