The light blue medical curtain of childbirth falls. From behind it comes screams as apparently Therlynn has refused anesthetics, but after a while, it rises to reveal Therlynn holding a baby girl and smiling happily. She calls over to Eyros, a little weak from childbirth, "Hey...I want you to meet our daughter."

Eyros approaches, and looks at their little girl curiously, joy on his face.

Pesty heard something about a new leader!
Of course, she wasn't paying enough attention to remember if anyone mentioned exactly who the new leader was, but she might as well find out now!
She comes out of the lab with a small screwdriver tucked behind her ear, the tool-pockets of her labcoat full of wrenches and Almond Joys, still holding something that looks like the stock of something at least vaguely gunlike, although without all the necessary... gun bits at the other end.
She trots down the hall for Tobias's... ex-office, wondering who the new boss is. BR? Someone from GLOG? Her?
She doesn't want it to be her, and decides that if she finds herself sitting in the Big Important Chair she'll just have to demand that she step down.

My apologies for forgetting to reply to your last post, but Valcario is still with Civvy, who is still giving Noodlehat's character a tour, buuuut he could probably slip away easily enough. HALO doesn't have, however, a record room. There is a room with a large computer, but that might be dangerous.

He is okay with dangerous. However Valcario leers a little at the large computer. He was a steamtech specialist, not a cybertech user! He couldn't hack such a thing. He was gonna have to get creative for this. Step one: determine if computer has artificial intelligence without alerting said computer to his true intent. Steps two through everything else pretty much differed right after that.

He walks in and says
"Howdy there, computer, how are you doing on this fine day, might I ask?"
What? If there was an AI on it, then it was just polite, if there wasn't, then he was fine anyways, because he just spoke to an empty room.

Magtok winces. "I'm pretty sure I exploded Sam's hand once, if she's the same person I think she is. I might be better off looking for BR, who probably also hates me due to our past history, but only half as much. He's still god-powerful and capable of boiling my eyeballs in a single thought, right? Eyeball, Magtok. The red one wouldn't boil, it'd just melt.

Also, what do any of these people look like? I haven't seen any name tags or photo ID, and unless there's a filing system somewhere with everyone's picture..." Another problem with joining an organization and then immediately taking over; no idea who anyone is or where to find them.

"Even if you did, and she's sworn some sort of grudge against you, I'm fairly certain she'd be willing to work with you. Especially since you do seem to have HALO's best interest at heart. But yes. I think that's BR in a nutshell.

Magtok heads for the door, and has every intention of walking past Pesty to just outside his office, where he'll slap a "MagOffice" plaque onto the door. There, that should help anyone out if they're lost and looking for his office. More importantly though, it should help Magtok out later, when he's lost and looking for his office. This place is big and scary and new and he has no idea how he's supposed to find anything.

"That sounds like it could take a while. I suppose I've got nothing but time, though. No apocalypses or evil invading armies coming here or whatever most of the time, from what I've heard. Oh, and speaking of time, you wouldn't happen to know anyone who could make a huge pile of gold coins or some other sort of money, and have it set to dissolve or vanish or whatever after an hour or two, would you? I have this nefarious evil scheme in mind, except it's not evil at all and involves saving a whole bunch of innocent people in one big dramatic hero stunt of goodness."

Heroic counterfeiting, Magtok? Are you sure this is about saving people, and not just some genuinely evil scheme to get yourself a fancy new office chair for free?

Magtok blinks. That is a lot of money. He had thought he'd have a bit more time to prepare, maybe divide up the money between three teams of HALO members, but...jeez, now he has to get a MagClone all the way to Skyside as soon as possible! He can't just do the smart thing and ask Civvy to hold off on that and save her god-magicks for later, because apparently according to MagLogic, that would be impolite and ungracious!

The very last thing he can do is let the silly pink-haired girl think she did something silly and inconveniently timed. Even if it'd only take a second to fix the problem, somehow it's the end of the world if Mag complains even a little about it, or asks for her to wait a couple hours to get a team together. Urgh. Honestly Magtok, you're here to lead HALO, not fuss over what pretty pink princesses think of you!

"I'll have another MagClone get right on that. Expect a few new faces on your welcome route after I've saved the day." The cyborg says, without a hint of trepidation, despite the above two paragraphs. He drops the loot into his pockets, and it all just vanishes right away.

"So anyways, that said and done, where would BR be hanging out? He's probably my best bet for finding another veteran here who won't beat me up with my own arm." Magtok meant that as a joke, but he freezes after saying so, and the implications of what he signed himself up for only begins to really settle in now. Oh gods, there's no way he's going to be able to run this place, is there? He ought to just run away, screaming, right here and right now, while he still has some dignity left. His pride will suffer, but there's no way it'll hurt anywhere near as much as what's waiting for him if he insists on sticking with this absurd course of action.

"Easiest decision I'll make today. The armory's down that way. The paper goes in the filing cabinet over there, under 'T'. Put it under Topaz, not Tempest or Thalia, I'm going by last names for people who have them."

The stamp says 'APPROVED', by the way. Of course, Thalia probably could've figured that out on her own, even without looking at the paper.

"Oh, and I don't know all of what happened, but I heard enough from Wall. For what it's worth, I'm sorry that things turned out that way, and that Marcy didn't do the right thing, and stay dead after the last time I killed him."

All I have left is restructuring the command hierarchy and stuff, doing more of that stuff with squads, talking with Watch, meeting with Inside, having other-me check the files to see if Civvy's single, sending some people on a mission, finding people qualified to send on that mission, andohdearlordthat'salot." He drops right into his favorite chair, mentally exhausted already. He can see how this sort of work could drain the life out of someone, but it's far too soon to quit now. He has to prove himself as the Superior Spiderman a qualified and competent leader of HALO to himself, HALO's members, and the world.
