"It moved so many miles with me. I am linked to my tree- if I die, it dies, and vice versa. It lived before my birth, but since I was born from its boles I haven't left; I haven't been able to leave. It is my soul, or I'm the tree's soul. And that's language? It's completely incomprehensible!" Hopefully, she hasn't inadvertently insulted the halflings. That might be bad.

The tree is planted and the halflings are professionals. She's fairly safe.

"Most people from Boston are. But we had one as a president once so Americans learned to deal with it. Oddly American Halflings aside, I'm sure this is theres some way to give you and your tree some distance. No offense," he remarks in the direction of the tree.

Alyca follows suit, sampling a small spoonful of pea soup in a most lady-like fashion. She blinks several times in quick succession upon experiencing the sensational savory soup. Dang that's good! After her mouth is no longer full, she enthusiastically comments on it!

"Wow! This is fantastic Justin! Where'd you learn to cook like this?"

Alyca hurriedly gulps down another spoonful of soup! She must nom it all!

"I'm glad you like it. The Applehills taught me. Do you remember the little guy from when we picked you guys up from... the place," Justin says carefully trying not to touch any nerves. "His whole family, amazing cooks. His wife taught me these dishes. You met her the night you came here." She gave the sisters blankets.

And Justin is their High Priest, it seems!

"Yeah. I've been meaning to encounter them again under more quotidian circumstances, but I haven't got around to doing that just yet."

Mainly because Alyca's player is an infamous procrastinator. >.< In fact, I think that should be next on my list of things to do when this scene eventually ends.

"Y'know, thinking back on that rescue, I find that I don't have a clue as to how it came about. How did you guys find us and why did you guys decide to put your necks on the line for us?"

It was a most heroic and noble thing to do, but Alyca never truly believed that any masters of their own fate would be willing to undertake any adventure even approaching that level of potential risk of bodily harm and death over a dozen slaves, no matter how expensive.

Justin eats a spoonful of soup and dabs his mouth as he tries to collect the story in his head. "Well let's see. There's a lot of backstory to it, but as far as I learned, Brand met some former slaves of the cult, and he had asked Watchtower, who rescued his family when they were in a slave caravan to help. A member of the church was in Watchtower at the time, so they were worried that they would be recognized. Neither Brand nor Waterstrider, the wolf guy we were with, could play the slave owner. That's why Brand invited me. I had done similar stuff before in Atlanta, so I played the faceman for them." He takes another sip of his soup and chuckles. "Brand is really the hero of that adventure."

"I'll make sure to keep my eyes out for one." She finishes off her sandwich. She picks up the last few crumbs on her plate by pressing her pinky down on them then licking her pinky clean. After a few seconds thought she nervously asks. "Hey can I get your guys opinion on something?"

Wow. Alyca didn't know that WATCH had ties to the Dalachrechians. That seems rather strange. Hmm... She hopes they've entirely severed them by now. It wouldn't make any sense for them to be anything but enemies with the Dalachrechians after assaulting their base and it certainly wouldn't be to Miriah's benefit whatsoever.

"Fascinating. I never would have guessed that Brand was the force primarily responsible rescuing us."

Brand was viewed as a gentle soul in her eyes. She identified him as daring and courageous but with a softer side unlike that of any of the other saviors. Perhaps it was this benevolence from which he drew his strength. So the rescue was not an act of hate but one of pure compassion.

Wow! That's an absolutely amazing realization to Alyca. She's even tearing up a little at the beauty of what everyone did for her and her sister.

"Well a friend suggested an idea to me, starting an aerial acrobatic show. I've been trying to think of ideas for it. I was wondering if you guys might have any ideas for a show." Yuki seems almost embarrassed to be asking but she had much luck in thinking up anything for the show.

"Of course." Justin is rather confused by the revelation. Was it not obvious from the beginning? "Of course we were there for you. Brand couldn't stand for knowing there were people suffering. Like I said, his family and Waterstrider and his brother were captives of slavers, and I've seen what slaves go through." Never first hand though, he'd never compare his own life, hardships and all, to a slaves.

"Are you alright?" he asks at her tearing. He stands up and walks to her side. He raises his hand slightly, pensively going back and forth on taking it before settling on Go For It.

A hug is fine. Justin takes the hug. He even hugs back. "Don't worry about it. I promised didn't I?" When the hug breaks off, he asks her, "Would you like to show me around or can you manage on your own." If she's good on her own, he has to see a halfling about an "archery" range, if not, he can spare the time easily.

"I guess sort of like a circus. I've never been to one. I can do a bunch of tricks but I'm not sure how to make it a show and not just me flying around." She seems pretty confidant in her flying. "I'm not sure what kind of mechanical help I might need but I will make sure to let you know if I do." She says to Mark.

She stretches and clambers to her feet before turning slightly to the road to GLoG. "Shall we?"

She learned that if she didn't obey her masters' and mistresses' orders to the letter as fast as she could, she would starve. She learned that if she did anything that displeased the masters and mistresses, she would be beat. She learned that without her masters and mistresses, she had no future and no life. She was learned that she was someone's pet at best and someone's corpse if they grew bored of her.

It was all a lie. A method the abhorrent sub-human slavers used to break her, exploit her, and pacify her! A loathsome trick conceived by the sick minds of twisted men that would shape her into the living toy they wanted her to be! She may be in control of her own life now, but when you've been treated like you're less than worthless for seventeen years straight starting at a time before you can even talk, you can't do anything but believe it... It's extremely difficult for her to overcome her past, but she's trying. She is visiting a psychologist off-screen twice every week without fail. She has major ego issues that she has yet to win the struggle against.

Alyca is a little overwhelmed by it all. As a single tear rolls down her rosy cheeks and Justin takes her hand, she attempts to give Justin a full-blown hug.

"I'm fine now, Justin. I'm fine now."

She's just a little emotional, that's all.

Armed with Justin's kind words and the knowledge that Brand, a complete stranger to her, was willing to die trying to save her, she knows that she can do what needs to be done to deliver her sister from the hands of the sinister Dalachrechians.

"Well it sort of has to be choreographed into like an air-dance. And maybe more flyers. And selling tickets." Timmy is just naming what comes to mind. What he thinks of are circus acts air shows and synchronized swimming.

"Alright. We can start with the main cabin because that's where the local authority hangs out." Justin points to the large building. "Supposedly GLoG is run by a council, but I've only ever met Reelshka, a goblin lady." He has no idea that Brand is a council member. "She's pretty nice."

Brinika turns around sharply towards Abigail. She thinks she remembers her but it's been a while...

"That makes sense. I had hoped to find a partner somewhere. Someone else to fly with. Just no luck so far." She really should head back into the city sometime to try looking again. It just feels safe here at the campsite.

You see a hoverbike roaring in towards the base. It's sleek and fast, with a glossy white finish. On it is a young man in a fluttering white labcoat, grinning crazily. He waits until the very last second before skidding the bike ninety degrees and activating the repulsor brakes to bring it to a dead stop inches from the doors.

He hops off easily, and knocks on the doors of wherever you go to register, before holding out a hand behind him and snapping his fingers a couple of times. A large case, glossy white like the bike, is handed to him by an automated arm in the cleverly concealed storage compartment.

He waits for the door to open.

A small blue cat peers down from the roof of the Main Cabin at the biker.

"No helmet, huh? Trying to set a bad example for the kids running around here that you're lucky to have not hit?"

It apparently can talk. And has a tiny cat sized sniper rifle strapped to its back.

Its possible there is is a helmet and the cat just missed or ignored it.

"I would not wear any of the mass-produced helmets you get in commercial chains, and I have yet to fabricate a strong enough alloy that preserves enough lightness to be satisfactory. Beside that, even if my body dies, my consciousness will be transferred."

The young man studies the cat intently, shaking his head.

"I find it pitiable that all changes are towards the same goal. Diversity is the surest path, and yet all species evolve in similarity. However, new information is not to be dismissed..."

He pulls out a strange device from one of the many pockets of his lab coat and aims it at the cat. There is a flash of gold light, and the device says:

"Scan complete. Data stored for future analysis."

He returns the device to a pocket, and looks back up at the cat.

"So, where do I go to join? I have heard good things about the medical facilities here. I specialise in biotech and programming, but I can turn my hand to anything."

"Damn bipeds thinking they own the universe and can do whatever they want without permission. Bloody lucky I don't shoot his ugly mug right into a consciousness transfer..." The cat grumps, mostly to himself but not without a contemptuous scowl.

"Forms are there. Fill one out and go talk to Quinn in the infirmary there. She's head of medical." The places are pointed out. Forms are in the first post.

"And I'm quite serious about the kids. Don't go driving that thing around here." It'd tear up the beautiful camp!

Oh. Okay then. Kevin frowns slightly as he finds himself wondering how else Mikani is different from Jamie. She seems to have the same personality...
Then Abigail shows up and he turns to look at her. I think they've actually met before.

Kevin hesitates. Talking animals are one thing, but talking food is just too weird. Um... Well, he sorta speaks to nature and tells it what to do. He can heal any injury, set things on fire, and call lightning down from the sky.
