Maiden of the Plumes. Though I do have to say good job everyone, as this made voting a lot harder.
DebbyP.E.A.C.H. Please Evaluate And Critique Honestly. Being nicer and kinder doesn't hurt either. Note I generally only critique 3.5 and Pathfinder material.
Please, please, please when using non-core material, cite to the books. There are too many books to wade through to find the one with the feat, special ability or spell you use.

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
Ooh, tough one. On the one hand, I do love octopus-girls (heh, tentacles...) which definitely makes the Lusca a good bet. But on the other hand, Bhu is condensed awesome when it comes to monsters, and I think he might sneak into Vorpal Tribble's room at night and suck out his home-brewing abilities like some home-brew vampire. I'm casting my vote to the awesome Resurrection Maiden.

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
I was torn between the Lusca, Resurrection Maiden and Shiny, however, the Shiny looks a bit over-CR'd to me and the Maiden's Necrotic Touch ability looks a bit too vague and a bit too abuseable.
So I will vote for the Lusca.
Plus, tentacles. Everything isbetterworsebetter with tentacles.

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
Lol, no duplicate votes yet. I curse the epicness that came from this contest for making it so hard to decide. Then I realize that I'm cursing it for an excess of epicness, which doesn't exist so I take it back. Anyways, I can see where the shiny could be seen as over CR'd, but then I figured that if used well, it could kill a PC fairly easily before they realized it was the cause of their Con damage, and as such figured it would be better to put it a little high. Anyways, Still trying to figure out what to vote for.
Also Draken is right. Everything is better with tenticals.

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
If Constitution is being drained the victim will appear sickly, and once his Constitution is 0 he will die, only to rise again as some form of corporeal Undead whose CR is half or less the Resurrection Woman's. This new undead will have all the memories and abilities it had in life unlike usual, and is fanatically loyal to the Resurrection Woman.

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
Ah okay. It was intended for the victim to have his memories and abilities so he could be her lover and continue to rule if he could hide his condition.

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
Crow Mistress. I found the resurrection maiden to be great flavour, but almost plot and and character type rolled into one, and ultimately too much. a close second though.

They were all so awesome...
I actually sprung the Shiny on my players, and they thought it was hilarious, but I'm going to vote for the Crow Mistress, because the monster was awesome and I loved the picture."Once upon a time, a story was never finished..."

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
Really? I'd like to hear how it went if you don't mind saying. Anyways, I know what you mean about the crow mistress. Its one of the ones I'm thinking of voting for, mainly due to my liking of crows and the picture (outside of being a good creature, the other two I'm thinking about would be the Lusca and the Shiny).

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
Might as well make it official–I'll have a Lusca, please. Extra tentacles.
I no longer actively read the forums, and probably won't respond to any PMs. I'm fine with people using my homebrew in anything, including fan-compilations and wikis, as long as you credit me.

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
Tiny nitpick I want to bring to light before I vote: the Crow Mistress has no skills...does that make it incomplete? That said, it's a lovely monster. I vote for the Lusca. This was a difficult choice to make, though. I also liked the Resurrection Woman.

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
Resurrection Woman gets my vote. All of them were quite good; I just found this one a bit more creative than some of the others. I admit I had a mild bias against fey for this, as fey seemed such a clear answer to the contest topic. Really, though, everyone did an excellent job and picking who to vote for was hard (hence why I'm voting so close to the deadline!).

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
Yes, I thought the crow mistress was incomplete and wouldn't compete << I am actually quite pleased to find it made it here and that it actually got votes. If VT deems it as unfinished, I would gladly withdraw it.
However, I will probably finish it at some point in the near future after school stops sucking my life away. There is still quite a bit of fluff and lore I'd like to add to them, hehehehe...
BTW, my vote goes to Mist Maiden. The Shiny was an extremely close second. EXTREMELY close. Patchworks also receives an honorable mention.
PS: Draken has an unnatural bias for things with tentacles...Last edited by Sir Shadow; 2009-08-31 at 08:17 PM.

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
I managed to completely miss that... just consider this your Get Out of Jail Free card entry. Gonna keep strict on future contests though, so be warned and post the full thing or not at all?
Actually... may just make a rule that it has to be completely finished before posting. You can edit and change, but at least everything will still be there.

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
TBH, while I did miss the Skills thing, I thought it was incomplete b/c there was no lore and I didn't put down its combat strategy.

Re: Monster Competiton XXXVI Voting Thread (A Thing of Beauty)
If its still open (where i am its only late afternoon) i would like to vote for the Crow Mistress. She looks like an Onryo. So that appeals to the scholarly part of me. She has ravens, so that appeals to the part of me that wears a black hat. She is a darkly themed Fey, of which i have been homebrewing several, so she has use to my DnD self. And she is nekkid in that picture, so my guy self is also happy.
