The Weekly Life In Simon's Basement - An OotS Style Comic
To summarize the premise of my comic briefly, it is the humorous misadventures of a group of teenagers trying to play a campaign of D&D.
This comic can be found on my Deviantart page, and its own site (sort of), but I will also post links to the direct images. I would advise reading through it via the site, mainly because it would be easier to navigate through the comics. I leave the decision up to you, however.

A few things you should know about the comic.
1. The name is a parody of a comic a friend of mine once wrote. I won't go into too much detail, he no longer writes it, but I figured you should know. Also, this comic is based on my games of D&D, and they took place in the basement of my friend's house when I decided on a comic name. His name is Simon. This shouldn't cause you any further questions.
2. Yeah, their heads are ovals, not circles. If you feel strongly about this, let me know. It was originally caused by a bad monitor, but I've fixed that problem. Updating all the characters would take a bit of time and effort, though, and none of the readers at the time really felt that it would be necessary.
3. Yes, I know some parts seem to be ripped off of OotS. For example, Dave, Jack, Stumpy, some of my jokes, etc. I have already been working on branching away, but keep in mind that the characters aren't as shallow as they appear, and the difference between my comic and the Giant's should become more noticeable as time progresses.
Feedback would be excellent!Last edited by Salty; 2013-09-24 at 09:21 PM.

Re: The Weekly Life In Simon's Basement
I like it. Very much, actually.
Two nitpicks though:
If Jack's char is a girl, then why doesn't she have any boobs?
And Dave's jumps are to stiff. It's basiclyy a standing-position that you turned.Last edited by Cizak; 2009-06-16 at 03:45 PM.

Re: The Weekly Life In Simon's Basement
Thanks! Jack's character doesn't have a specified gender yet. I realize the gag is overdone, and I will probably reveal it after I milk it a bit, but I guess you could imagine that he is incredibly flat chested, or his thick shirt covers up any indication. As for Dave, thanks for the advice. I really wasn't that sure about it, and I'll try to improve it the next time I have him jump.

Re: The Weekly Life In Simon's Basement - An OotS Style Comic
I like the way its actually a D&D campaign. Meaning that the characters break rules like no talking when unconscious as well ^^
You should do a gag about the Players talking OOC and DM counts it as the Characters are randomly chatting which gives their position away or something =3I'm technically but I refuse to admit it!QuotesI'm an Artist!, If you want an Avatar just PM me your specifics - Avatar by Me!

New Comic!
10: Pronunciation Troubles
I had to add the dashes mainly because there is no better way that I could think of to show how Dave was pronouncing it. Except maybe italics. Crap. Oh well, the comic's staying like it is....

Re: The Weekly Life In Simon's Basement - An OotS Style Comic
Pretty neat little comic, the characters do feel a tad generic though. But reading comics 2-6 I guess that was the point. The art could use a little cleaning up, but nothing that won't improve itself over time. I do however, find the wide oval heads to be a bit weird.

Very funny. Stab-ling.
I know these guys are based on characters you personally have played with, but this guy still seems like a Belkar clone. No offense.AVATAR BATTLE ROYALE!

Re: The Weekly Life In Simon's Basement - An OotS Style Comic
Yeah, I agree with you, for now, anyways. I have plans to have him deviate from Belkar's nature soon enough, but for now, he appears to be nothing more than a rip-off.
Oh, and the about the oval heads mentioned above; that was unintentional. I didn't even realize that their heads were ovals until someone pointed it out and I checked it on my iPod. Until I get a new monitor, however, there isn't much I can do. Afterwords, I'll probably fix it, unless a lot of people suddenly agree with Fayte. It could happen....

I agree with Fayte - I find different heads interesting.
Also, maybe you should try to clarrify what level they're at - It'd be refreshing for a 1st-level webcomic instead of (excuse my 4th edition language, it's all I know) Paragon- or Epic-tier.Any bad guy who looks at O-Chul goes blind from sheer awesomeness.

New comic!
10a: Just to f--- With You
You brought this upon yourselves.
Also, I've been receiving feedback about this, so I have a question to ask. I recently got a new monitor, which is slightly better than my old one, and I am now able to work with plain circular heads. But the question is, should I? Some of you say that you are attached to the oval heads. Keep in mind when responding that if I change the heads, it will take a while to change all of my pre-made images, so the updates will be less frequent. Thoughts?...
