Gaaaaahh my world crashes around me.

Okay so. The items pretty much functioned as a free bane/nightkill/theive. As I intended to have the game be fast, as well as knowing the Engineers would only come into play late in the game, I passed one of each item to random players. Logarr's and billtodamax's were only passed to other players because they had not used them.

The classes can keep doing what they're doing forever, while items are one-use. So, handing, for example, a sniper a sniper rifle is like handing a pistol to a cannoneer.

Still, Lex is (until I have more data) a good second choice, just not as good as RHL.

Things were hardly looking up. Not only had our squad been reduced to mere scraps, but we were only a few bad moves away from complete failure.

"S-six, come quickly," Two said to me. The quaking of his voice and his rushed body language was strangely out of character, so if anything, he certainly had my attention.

He led me to the middle of the deck, where a familiar voice crackled from the radio. "Come in Five, come in. Do you copy?" asked an exasperated Two. The killings were affecting him more than I'd thought. His usual coolness was all but gone, replaced by worried looks and twitching movements.

"Oh hey, Two. Yeah, I copy."

    "Are you alright?"

"Yeah. I'm a bit thirsty though. And a bit shot in the chest."

"...O-Okay. We'll have a rescue team come get you as soon as possible."

    "Sweet. Uh, Five out."

The radio fell to silence, and Two got up to address us. "Troopers-"

"I'll be calling the shots around here, thank you very much." The Engineer had been almost entirely inactive since he came, taking time out from tinkering to yell at us every once in a while. "We finally have a lead on the killings, and I'm not about to let it slip through my fingers." He turned to me. "Well trooper, looks like you finally have a chance to prove your innocence. Let's go."

"Wait." Three said. "Shouldn't we bring a doctor along, you know, for the blaster wound in his chest?"

"Details, details," the Enigineer said. "Alright. Who here has training?"

    No one responded.

"...Who here has treated a wound before?"

    Again, no answer.

"Who here knows how to use a bloody first-aid kit?"

    Number Three begrudgingly stepped forward.

"Excellent! Someone knows how to put a band-aid on a cut! Now can we get to saving your dying friend?"

With that, the Engineer opened the doors, and we ran in to find Five. The hallways creaked and waned under us. Our contractors for the deck hadn't been the most trustworthy bunch. "Alright," Three said. "Against my better wishes, I say we split up. Three times as likely to die, but three times as likely to find Five."

"And what makes you think I'm stupid enough to give you the go ahead?"

"If we don't act quickly, Five will die. That good enough?"

The Engineer grumbled. "Fine. You two ready?"

I had been busy in the corner, glancing quickly around my field of view. "No I did not piss myself in fear."

    They both looked at me.

"I mean yes. Hell yes. Murderous psychos can kiss my ass," I whimpered.

"You might want to head with Six, Three. The man needs a doctor, and you'll be no use to him wandering about in the dark."

"But then, how will you treat him if you find him?" Three mused.

"I'll be fine. Now let's go, before we have to send in body bags."

We each headed down a corridor, searching earnestly for any sign of Five. It must've been five minutes before I stumbled upon him. Quite literally, I might add. He laid on the floor in a puddle of blood, which was... unsettling, to say the least.

"Oof. Oh hey, Three. Six," He reached to his side, pulling up a brown bag. "I got you a souvenir."

I plucked the bag from his hands, as Six tried to gauge his wounds. "What's in it?" I asked.

    "My left lung."

I dropped the bag instinctively. Judging from the blood stains on it, I assumed he was telling the truth. "I had to take it out. It was getting all infected, and I really was not in the mood to deal with that."

Three seemed almost jealous. "Showoff." He continued trying to stick band-aids onto the blaster wound to no avail.

Suddenly, a gigantic beast attacked us. I caught only glimpses in the struggle, but it seemed to be a Wookiee. Presumably Chewbacca.

After a brief tussle, I managed to drag Five away from the carnage, though I'm afraid Three did not escape. I desperately tried to make our way to shelter, any shelter. But before that monster overtook us, it suddenly stopped.

"For god's sake, you guys might as well be made of glass." It was the Engineer, not a moment too soon. He had the Wookiee at a standstill, holding his hand to his empty holster. "Take one more step, and it's the last thing you'll ever do. Knowing it would end badly for him, the Engineer quickly scooped up the lung-bag and threw it at Chewbacca. "Run!" And so we did.

Back at the deck, the Engineer gave me a warm handshake. "Great work, trooper. I'll be sure to recommend you to my superiors."

Though we brought back Five in one piece, it was bittersweet, as it had come at the cost of a teammate.

I would have felt really bad if Rabbit had been lynched instead of me.

I was always Co Narrator. [/Force Mind Trick]

"This is why it hurts the way it hurts.
You have too many words in your head.
There are too many ways to describe the way you feel.
You will never have the luxury of a dull ache.
You must suffer through the intricacy of feeling too much"
