Default Earthquake yesterday, did you feel it?

Yesterday morning (3:20 am local), the SF Bay area was hit by the largest earthquake since the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Luckily it was smaller, a 6.0 compared to the 6.9, and did far less damage.
I was wondering if anyone else felt it or was affected by it.
Personally, I live ~45 miles North West of where it struck, and it still woke me up and it was the strongest quake I've ever felt, and I've lived in the area my entire life (born after 1989).

It did not reach to here. Maybe it got stuck in the roadwork on 80. The cat was sleeping on the bed too. He did not wake up either. It did not seem to spread very much. I do not know the bedrock of Napa but it is not the sand fill of the Bay at least.

I slept right through it, despite being, I think, closer than either of you.

    Go Dodgers.

I remember the Loma Prieta earthquake; I actually lived a few miles from the epicenter when it struck. My brother and I were waiting for the “battle of the bay” world series (SF Giants vs Oakland Athletics). It felt like God lifted our house and shook it like a child would shake his piggy bank and then set it back down.

But no I didn’t feel this one, granted I’m a few hours away from the bay area now so it’s unlikely for me to feel anything under a 7 pointer (read really bad) and even then I’ll probably just barely feel it at that.

Felt the Loma even down here but not this one. Probably because it was small enough down here to sleep through.

I thought the upstairs neighbors were being naughty at first. All it was, was my windows started shaking. And my cat looked at me like "why are you moving the bed, human?"

It just felt like being on a houseboat. It was a potent quake but I was more impressed by it's duration than force. Servesd me right for having a nightcap, too - I was wondering at the time if maybe the drink hadn't worn off...

Now I finally know who's in Cali without directly asking! :D

I felt it. I live in San Jose, and the bed was rocking back and forth pretty decently. I actually really didn't realize it was an earthquake, because I thought I was causing the shaking in my sleep deprived state, and proceeded to press the bed frame into the wall to get the shaking to stop. The funny thing is it did, and I only really realized it was an earthquake moments before, and did a quick google search to see where it struck.

Oh, and at the time, my mom was like 12 mines from the epicenter of Loma Prieta, so I got to listen to her experience of it.

Now that I know this thread exists, I live in Contra Costa County and slept through the entire night, stopping only once at an indeterminate time to adjust my position cuz my arm started hurting.

Funny story, my stepmother was with my dad, and she said neither of the dogs woke up, and when she talked to my dad about it, he said "Welcome to California," and went back to sleep.

I was given a chart! It has the personal fitness trackers of northern California and shows who was moving around on the night of the earthquake.

One fitness tracker showed how many people who like data got up and moved around in the middle of the night
The Washington Post talks about how that measures the public worry over what happened

I woke up to it and found my groggy emergency preparedness training effective enough for me to stumble into some more reinforced part of my house. But I was in the East Bay, so it didn't do much. But I certainly felt it.

    That I am.

I'd also like to point out never to visit Facebook after a rare geological or climatological event (e.g. earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, three-day lightning storms) because it's going to be topped off with posts about the same thing.
