I originally intended for Usopp to take on the Artificer class, but... he doesn't make golems, now does he? In the end I decided that a 3.5 version of the Grenadier class might suit him better. >_>
Actualy a D&D artificer doesnt have to mess around with golems at all, if he is build proberly then he will instead mess you up with wands, scrolls, staffs and metamagic abuse

Still, this setting does seem to be without real magic, so the grenadier is proberly a better fit anyway.

Until he experiences some severe emotional trauma and then comes up with a REAL backstory for his character?

Yes it is. But... I still don't feel there is that much to talk about it. It is pretty interesting how well D&D rules adapt to OP at times...

I'm mostly curious how the party will develop but it will be quite a while until we get new, interesting developments.

Okay, how about I come up with something random to talk about, then? :p

Game of Thrones as a massive LARP game. Think it'd work? What kind of system do you think they're using? ^_^

I thought about making a spin-off about it, but I know nothing about LARP (and I don't think I'd have the time). >_>

I don't know much about LARP myself but ASOIAF would on the one hand be probably one of the most bloodthristy LARPs ever and also one with the weirdest setup for people to play on a really big ground.

But I guess it might work somehow, though it really is not that big on the fighting... It happens once in a while but in general I don't think it would be easy to make any kind of skill checks all the time it's more down to playing out lots and lots of character flaws. (And one has to wonder what kind of flaw Cersei and Jaime took to start off)

In Cersai's and Jamie's case I think those are a real life couple who are too horny to stay in character.

Probably a pretty valid explanation... So Ned is a Paladin with a really crappy Wis stat who is afraid he could lose his LG status if he did anything wrong?

And our favorite DM is back.. (Is it just me or has Phil totally dropped his attraction towards her? Maybe she's just been away too long)

Wasn't Rika just a little girl pretty young? I could be totally wrong but I thought it was DM...
Going back to Phil's first appearance in 243 it's not entirely clear bit Rika's hardly saying anything. I guess I just assumed it was DM because I picture(d) Rika more like the little sister character like in D&D, not just a junior student.

I liked how the usual "monster trio" became the munchkin trio in this version

But should DM not have been part of that trio? it sounds very much like she is about as good as Cory and Luky, and she does sound like she is going to become Sanji?

    Edit.
For mixing up DM and GM.

You could argue whether a GM can be a Munchkin (okay, sure s/he can). But DM used to be their GM so she's probably not included. On the other hand, didn't Cory come up with a rather weak character and only switched to GM's Zoro NPC? (Then again GM also created Usopp so he could/schould be a munchkin character as well)

Anyway, I don't expect DM to be Sanji... I really feel she makes for a much better villain. Trying always to come up with someone to out-munchkin the munchkin's but failing seems a pretty good motivation.

Actualy you got that Swiched around

GM made Coby for Cory to play, as part of the initial pregenerated characters.

But when GM then lost the sheet for his npc Zorro, then Cory used the opportunity to use his nameless char that he had not been allowed to play, due to having neither a name nor a backstory.

And i am pretty sure DM will become Sanji, the author has gone out of his way to shown DM as a powergamer on line with Luke and Cory, something that would be needet to explain Sanji's spot in the monster trio.

    Oops, it's been so long.
Still, I can't see DM's character fitting with Sanji. We'll see...

Oh, and I totally understand DM. Wasting such awesome crits is annoying. (Worst if you waste your natural 20 or equivalent on something entirely unimportant)

Well... I once GM'd a campaign where the PCs were given the chance to take over a city (potentially) during a civil war but they were not that greedy.

And now we ARE ruling a city and it sucks. Way too much work to keep that ship from sinking. (Okay, it doesn't suck but it's a hassle)
