Didn't they use Saves-A-Fox to do that? She's like level eight or something.

They probably got K'sellis in a pit trap or something, he was not exactly the smartest of individuals.

Yes. It's called "Feed them to the Switchbeast,"

That is to say, they had a plan to deal with things like Biscuit, but their particular plan in this case was contingent upon luring him into that trap. Now that fell apart, and they haven't had time to set up a new strategy.

Possibly, I don't think we can really tell either way. We've seen both dispatch lesser enemies with ease. K'sellis may be dead, but he always did the eating.

He managed to think through how to deal with Noe. He was smarter than Grem for sure, and probably the rest of their group. At least I thought he was pretty smart; gave good advice and had a quick wit and most of the off the wall things he said were to mess with the goblins.

I think K'sellis vs Switchbeast would have been a to-the-death scenario. That's how you dispose of your unwanted slaves, it doesn't explain how you subdue them in the first place. Point is they apparently have ways of hunting down strong prey other than feeding them to monsters.

Although I'm just griping really, this is more the way I would like things to go than the way I expect them to go.

Even smart characters can do stupid things. For K'sellis, it turned out to be fatal. Guy wasn't exactly a genious, but he wasn't an idiot either.

Right. They didn't feed K'sellis to the Switchbeast, but the same theory applies. Prepare the ground in advance, lure him into a situation where you have the advantage, then drop the hammer, preferably winning in one fell swoop. With K'sellis it might have been heavy nets or a rock fall, rather than a log --> Switchbeast, and it evidently worked better.

Of course, part of the problem is that Biscuit is not only a powerful physical threat but also a sooooooper genius (especially if his Intelligence has been stacking all those winters).

Well, looks like Biscuit is just going to save them. Still an entertaining outcome, but I was expecting Grem to attack Duv after her offer to Dies.

Still could happen, I suppose. If we see Grem and Duv isolated at some point, my money's on treachery.

As far as we know Grem is either dead or still trapped in the dungeon. He might show up later though.

Biscuit killed two of the demons in the Well of Darkness, while Saves a Fox had trouble with just one. As Saves a Fox was apparently stronger than K'sellis, then it's reasonable to assume that Biscuit is also more powerful than the lizard man.

Eh, it's one of those rules of storytelling, isn't it? If a character is not shown to die, they're probably not dead.

Also, I appear to have confused the names of the Grem and the Teller. Riss, isn't it?

I think you're overestimating him by a fair deal. Did you forget the door thing?

Grem solved that in like three seconds where K'Sellis honestly thought kicking it was the only possible solution. K'Sellis has his strengths -- when it comes to 'how to kill something', he's all over that. That doesn't make him smarter than the entire group.

K'Sellis was basically a guy with a mallet. So long as the task required driving nails, he's fine. Anything else isn't going to work out so well.

Duv, Fox and the Orb falling over a cliff while Klik flies after them. I suspect either the paradigm of the plot is going to change or an anti-climax will emerge.

How fast does the Orb work its magic? Because I can definitely see Duv catching it in midair, growing her wing and flying to safety. Or, since she hasn't used both her wings since she was a child, growing them - and falling to her death anyway. That would be both tragic and funny.
