Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
Ain't read the book. Never seen the movie in its entirety, I kept falling asleep and waking up (do that all the time). Parts I saw were okay.

Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
I'm only just now getting around to watching some movies everyone but me has seen, consequence of not exactly having the sort of "nice things" budget growing up other people did. I'm afraid to mention the title of one movie I only recently got to see for the first time ever because of how people would react. It was extremely popular and from that same period you mentioned. I also saw The Green Mile for the first time recently, coincidentally enough.
So yes, I would appreciate if people would spoiler text stuff like that more often.A potent relic of the past. 'Tis said the wearer commands the wisdom of kings, and can see the unseeable.

Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
And Lewis took if from Greek. There's some rather important stuff to be found in the use of these different Greek words in some famous documents (and one in particular that concerns me), which is lost in English due to just the word "love" being how we describe all kinds of love.
Well...love the people, not necessarily the world itself.
It would be really cool if it was better. The book was fantastic. When Delacroix was executed it was messed up enough that I had to put the book down just to absorb what had happened.Avatar by Serpentine.

Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
On the other hand, it's first and foremost the world that needs saving, as we humans keep messing it up. It could use some love.
But then we get to the point where we need to define the word "world", so that we know if we're talking about the human society, the planet Earth or literally everything...
Personally, I tend to view upon everything with more rationality than emotion (or at least I like to think that I do, while at the same time I manage to scare myself from time to time by how much I do so). After all, in some cases, even positive emotions may influence your decisions toward the worse. Also, it's easier to take in the situation if you don't have to react emotionally toward it. Also, I'm not the most emotional person there is. Not emotionless, mind you, but I rarely experience any particularily strong emotions of any kind (especially anger. I'm practically never angry).Clouddreamer Teddy by me, high above the world, far beyond its matters...

Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
Well, that's why I brought up the problem with definitions (I always do. I hate it when people talk about two different things), because if by "the world" we mean the planet Earth, I'd say we'd have huge problems to save the human race if the world goes kaput.
Now, the point of discussion wasn't saving something to start with, so I'm kind of discussing on a tangent while leaving the whole "love" thing behind...Clouddreamer Teddy by me, high above the world, far beyond its matters...

Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
You can do more with paint than you might think.
Have a link.
Arguably, it has considerably more than that. Different people interpret them differently, it can be considered that they are defining them differently, hence more definitions.
Thing is, it can be a problem the other way. Logic isn't able to deal with some situations where emotions will guide you through perfectly fine. I have been rather like you as you describe there, but over the past couple of years I've been actively trying to respond to things emotionally more, for this reason."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
YES. THERE ALWAYS IS."

Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
I like, never get glomped in welcome around here XP
What? The Shining was a far better movie then a book, and I believe that the Green Mile is just slightly better. And then we've got stuff like Delores Caliburne, which I think is equally good in movie and in book. And then we have stuff like Lawnmower Man.

Oh yes. Today she attempted to throw a chair at me because the computer froze I keep telling our parents that she needs to see a psychiatrist.
I would attempt to draw some blood, but that would probably end with more of my blood lost.
Holy crap, those are all in MS Paint???!! I can't draw that well even in Inkscape!
