[Sneaky Weasel]

Phineas watches in bemusement as the drow split up and go their own ways. Not to be deterred, he follows Div, still rubbernecking.

He shows no surprise at Aeia or Bark, simply acknowledging them with a nod of his head. Trees make much more sense than faeries, after all. At least he'd seen trees before. A lot. Of trees.

"Pleased to meet you, Miss Aeia. And you too, mister...? He stares questioningly at Bark.

If this was the afterlife, it was a lot more interesting than expected.

[Slii Arhem]

Bark doesn't look very tree-like, being a living wooden statue carved from a tree. He'd almost pass for an albino human were it not for his massive height and rigid posture.

Still, it seems he's being addressed once again. Shame, as he was beginning to enjoy ignoring the outside world.

He turns to the recently deceased person and pins Phineas with a dead-eyed, unblinking stare.

"My name is now Bark. I am neither pleased nor displeased to speak with you." Well, at least he's being honest.

Yeah, trees are normal. But are naked tree ladies? Well, maybe that's a sign of a good afterlife? Who knows? *puts description link in sig character list* Bam! Of course, if the drow's ears were amazing to him, I should note that Aeia's ears are also pointed, and perhaps twice as long.

"See ya, Amil." Aeia says as the woman leaves. "Oh hey. Nice to meet you too." She says to the second new arrival. They're getting to meet all kinds of new people. She gives Phineas a warm smile. "And what's your name?" The dryad flutters her eyelashes and crosses her arms behind her back.

Lurking deep within the shadows of the rafters...

Viera definitely isn't stalking Raven.
She also definitely isn't carrying around a pair of extremely bright disco pants in one hand.
And she most certainly isn't scooting closer to her sister with intent to sneakily put them on in a way that would likely defy at least three laws of physics.

That would just be silly.
And consequently likely.

Raven is, sure enough, up in the rafters brooding like usual. She hasn't turned her three-dimensional cross section toward her preferred chimera look yet. Maybe she's thinking about actually being sociable?

Pfft.

Nah.

Fat chance of that.

She seems distracted though. Hasn't noticed her sibling yet. Usually she would start berating her for frivolous silliness by now.

MEANWHILE!

"He thinks he's dead," Divaonar points out to the pair of tree-people things. No doubt referring to mister Phineas. "I don't think he looks very dead though."

...

The boy the pokes at Bark again.

Poke poke.

[Hattish Thing]

Javert looks around again before finally getting up. He is distracted by the disco pants. Which he sees in the rafters. Javert stares before exclaiming out loud, Er....Hello up there? What...are you...doing?

[Chaotic Bob]

Ack, she's been spotted!

Viera throws a pair of ghille-suit pants down at Javert (distraction!) before springing into action!
With the likelihood of the bystander ruining her "l33t st34lth" or something less physically painful to write out, the chimera-girl springs towards Raven!

Disco Pants Application Maneuver #84, activate!
The grumpy sibling may acquire incredibly bright dancing leg-wear shortly!

Or, alternatively, the chipper sibling may miss her target completely and fall out of the rafters. Probably landing on a table and ruining several drinks/meals.

It's kind of a toss-up.

"Yes, Milady Cap'n Stoat." The dwarf closes his eyes, but doesn't move, his eyelids still staring at Ermine. This might just be worse than it was before.

Ermine growls at the dwarf and reaches into her hat with a paw. She grasps something inside, probably a weapon.

"Okay, I've 'ad just about enough o' you. I'm thinkin' ye need ta set sail and git yer smelly backside away from me, or I'll build a plank made o' pain and make ye walk it."

I'm sure that threat made sense somewhere. The mustelid's fur raises and she arcs her back threateningly. The pirate isn't very adorable anymore.

The pants land on Javert's head! Sadly, Javert wasn't expecting flying pants to hit him! He accidentally falls over in the tangled mess and falls on the floor in a heap. Javert just lays there for a moment. "Well....what should I do....if...I'm being strangled by pants? Javert wasn't expecting it...so, he lays there.

Those are some really mean pants if the guy is being strangled by them. Which would make very little sense considering that he's undead.

...yeah.

Anyway!

The comment about silly pants alerts Raven to the presence of her sibling!

And in a blur of motion she draws one of her void-black kama and attempts to pin the pants to the rafter!

The ends result of this?

Very possibly Viera dangling from the rafters whilst hanging onto a pair of obscenely sparkly pants.

This will no doubt be very silly.

Drat, she knew she should have zigged instead of zagged!

A fumble, meep, and giggle later and Viera finds herself hanging from the rafters by a clawed falcon foot from a shiny pair of pants.
Which should probably be a bad thing.

But she finds it extremely thrilling and claps her hands with more giggling.
"Weeee! I'm flying!"

The ghillie-suit pants proceed to do absolutely nothing.
They are also incredibly stealthy. Javert may suddenly be unnoticeable by people in a jungle climate.

Javert gets up now. He takes the pants off and drops them to the floor. He stares up at the girl hanging from the rafters. "What....You should get down...."

"You aren't flying-" Raven begins in what might be considered a normal voice for a ten year old girl, complete with a scarcely restrained giggle, but she quickly catches herself and gets all serious again. "You are simply being frivolous and silly again, Viera."

Oh so very very silly.

"How... many pairs of pants have you stolen...?"

That question is asked with a little bit of hesitancy.

Raven isn't sure if she wants to know the answer or not.

Then the syrupy voice guy speaks up!

The lil'ist assassin glowers at him from the rafters. "You are in no authority to order my siblings."

Tree ladies, nude or not, are a more common occurrence for Phineas than would be expected. And after seeing so many long ears, they are starting to lose their shock value.

"My name is Phineas Reinhardt, my fair lady. At your service." He gives a theatrical bow. Straitening up, he grins at the duo. "May I inquire as to what brings the pair of you to this tavern? I thought myself dead until recently, and it seems that this is my afterlife. And it is certainly a good one if it includes such interesting companions as yourselves."

This was turning into a very good day for Phineas. The best he had expected after dying was to lose all awareness, or possibly burn for eternity.

Instead, he was a magic tavern, conversing with a beautiful tree-woman.

Fun stuff, eh?

[Hattish Thing]

Javert glares over at the other young creature. They seemed to be spawning in Trog's...so many little children. Javert never did like children. His voice changes to a supernatural one that seems to echo. "My authority allows me to try and help. You should shut your mouth. Learn to respect your elders child."

[Chaotic Bob]

Viera, in between swings on the pant-leg, looks up at her sister with a wide grin.
"And yooooou, were being a grumpy-butt! Be silly with meeee! It's fun, I promise!"

Then Javert has to go and be silly of a different kind.

The chimera-girl frowns (very briefly) and peers down at him, one of her rabbit ears twitching slightly.
"I think it might be contagious.
Hey. Hey you! No grumpy-butting. That's bad.
Very bad."

Raven is doing her best not to crack a grin.

Viera is one of the few who can get her to lower that dark spooky mask she wears and act like a child. The other route is to leave some toys she hasn't seen before where she'll find them.

Kids tend to have trouble resisting new toys.

Seeing her sister dangling there under the rafter is making her seriousness crumble!

But wait!

What's this?

Mister Syrup Voice told her to shut up! That quickly snaps her back into srs bsns mode. All that work for nothing Viera...

"Being old does not make one worthy of respect. Acting in a respectable fashion does."

Rawr! She isn't shutting her mouth very well.

Javert completely ignores the child hanging from the rafters. He stares at the other child that....defied him? Most adults he knew wouldn't do that! This kid needs to be taught a lesson. "Hey....Kid....you've ever had parents? Javert is very calm at the moment.

Viera proceeds to peer at some point in space parallel to everything else.
She doesn't really like what she sees and briefly frowns once again.

Another pair of pants is produced!
These smell incredibly thickly of alcohol, sweat, and of dwarf-butt.
The pants of one Junior McBarFightsALot the half-drow-dwarf.

They are now being thrown at Javert's face in all their delicious, smelly, and slightly damp glory.

"This seems to be a world apart from other worlds. We have appeared here as well. I suggest you remain calm, as I've found this sudden transition to be most disconcerting." Uh, Bark? Phineas seems to be handling this much better than you are.

Oh well. Back to trying to ignore the little half-drow poking at his leg.

Twitch.

Twitch twitch.

Unsuccessfully trying to ignore him, it seems. Bark doesn't comment on the annoyance though. That would be gratifying it with a response.

"Of course I have parents," Raven replies in a tone that suggests she believes this odd man to be very strange. "Do I look like I-"

SUDDENLY PANTS!

That manages to break her train of thought.

And results in a small giggle escaping from her. How very silly!

"I believe that, perhaps, you may take yourself too seriously," that's awfully hypocritical of you, Raven.

MEANWHILE!

Div keeps poking!

Poke poke poke!

"You used to be a tree," he comments. Very insightful!

Aeia giggles a little at his formality and bites her lip. "Oh, well, we just sort of showed up here. It looked pretty interesting. Turns out I was right." The dryad shoots Bark a look, then her attention soon returns to Phineas. "Wanna sit down?"

Those words stung Javert...of course she had parents? She should be grateful. Rotten brat. Then, dwarf butt pants.....Gah...Javert gets caught head-on with the sour smelling pants. Javert gacks and chokes once as his eyes tear up from the horrible smell. His very keen sense of smell and hearing tend to always lead to bad experiences...Javert grabs the sweaty pants in his left hand. His right hand contorts strangely....his wraith form morphs out of his hand. The hand is now shadowy. The middle finger grows and turns a blood red crimson color. It cuts a hole in reality providing a portal to the shadowfell. Javert jams the pants into the shadowfell portal which closes. He turns angrily to the child as his hand returns to normal. "Child...I take myself as I should."

Aw, he dumped the pants into some evil-sponsored dimension.
Those will take forever to get back!

Buuuuut, Raven giggled!
She heard it! It definitely happened!

Viera proceeds to do a little fist-pump and a celebratory jump for victory.

She, unfortunately, forgets that she is hanging upside-down from a pair of pants with one foot. So jumping doesn't really happen.
Falling down does though.
"Wee, I'm falling!"


The girl doesn't really offer input to the clearly srs bsns argument.
It's not her shtick.

Needless display of arcane power combined with (possible) boasting? Yep. Certainly too seriously.

Raven will just sit there and watch her sibling drop. She knows well enough that Viera could catch herself easily enough is she felt so inclined. This is all part of the game after all. And in order to cushion her impact before she hits the ground oh fine, you win this time Viera!

There's a blur of indistinct motion as Raven ceases to be in the rafters and starts to be under her sister with her arms spread. Probably for the purpose of catching her.

Given that they're both about the same size the most likely result of this action will be to knock Raven on her tush.

No doubt it will be silly.

Javert stares down at Raven and the other young girl. "You are both pathetic..."

Phineas raises an eyebrow at Bark.
"Oh, I'm good at keeping calm. This is hardly the strangest thing to happen to me, although it's up there."
He smiles at Aeia's invitation.
"Certainly, let us find a table. I could go for a drink as well."
He beckons the two of them to follow, weaving his way through the inn to a suitable table.

As he goes, he notices a pair of children and one of the Unseelies having an altercation, and he shakes his head. No business of his, he thought, unless they disturbed him of his new-found friends.

No, he was not going to start a fight. So don't even think about that. That would be wrong.

"Hi, sis!"
WHUMPH.

Enter tangled pile of chimera children.

No one got hurt! Probably!
Viera busily giggles and gives Raven a little wave from on top of her.
"Nice catch!"
This entire thing went along smoothly and totally normally, despite grumpy comments from Javert!

Well. And that whoopy-cushion that probably wasn't under Raven when she stood there before.
That's probably less totally normal.
A much, much more amusing.

FLUUUUUURP!

Raven does a totally pathetic job of not bursting out into a fit of giggles after being fallen upon. This is all very silly!

Another score for Viera! That wasn't just a little giggle that happened to escape. That was an honest to goodness laugh! Pathetic though it may be the two siblings are having fun and doing child-y things with people they trust and care about!

Certainly unusual for drow. Must have inherited that trait from their mother.

Raven scowls at Javert and sticks her tongue out at him. Nyeeeh!

That task accomplished she'll disentangle herself from her sibling before pulling her pastel-pink backpack off, unzipping the thing, and dumping out its contents on the floor. Out tumbles an assortment of shells, crab claws, dried out seaweed floats, tumbled glass, and a few shiny rocks.

Oh.

And several live sand fleas.

The isopods go skittering away in search of somewhere moist and dark to hide. Too bad those dwarf pants are gone.

"The Spirit Vikings usually invade this time of year. So I have been keeping watch at the beach. I got bored and started picking up things in the sand."

With Viera hopefully focused on all the various baubles Raven will attempt to stow the whoopie cushion in her backpack without being noticed.

Raven is...

Well.

Gone.

The moment attention was removed from her she may as well have vanished. Probably up in the rafters again being grumpy. Someone should really try to find a way to cheer her up...

Sadei glares at the spot where she thinks (though isn't really sure...) Raven is hiding. But only momentarily before smiling back at the knight. "I'm happy to help."

She laces her fingers behind her back and begins doodling at the floor with one toe. "It's been long time since I've had a proper adventure. Thank you for letting me come..."

Div, meanwhile, thinks syrupy voices are sticky and gross! This guy is the opposite of fun and the boy decides to just leave him alone. There must be someone more interesting in the tavern...

Like, say-!

"Hi!" Divaonar proclaims cheerfully, popping up at the table near Bark, A, and Amil right as latter way about to say something! "I'm Divaonar!"

"No problem at all lady." Correl replies cheerfully. "So any idea where to start? We might just need to visit Alfred's parents first unless your brother happens to be closer."
