Ah yes, Chrono Commandos. I loved doing some levels with my entire strategy just being to build a bunch of them and have them pick off buildings and units around the edges of the enemy base until I could get at the important stuff. Or using them to completely screw Yuri's miners, since the AI won't have the actual miners attack them while they dematerialize the mining vehicle (plus you get free scouts/canon fodder after!).

Also worked great to toss a couple of them into those armored transport vehicles along with a Seal and couple of anti-tank infantry. Turns them into mobile death incarnate.

- Having Applejack endorse a lie at the end sounds a little ... wrong if you ask me. I would have her tell half-truths instead. Eg. Ah'm pretty sure Soarin' needs his rest. Or something.
- The Doctor? Hm. Seemed like a Deus Ex Machina right there. Not really of a fan of him... but okay. He seemed like comic relief more than anything else to be honest.
- Uh. I got nothing else.

As for the questions:
1) Doesn't seem to be grimdark to be honest. Nopony was actually killed, though you did depict injuries and some pretty disturbing transformations. I'll say [Dark][Adventure][Shipping] to go with it.
2) No chapters please. It makes reading the whole thing in one go easier. Plus it's completed anyway.

I actually roleplay DT on another board. I decided that her parents are successful business ponies who are working in Manehatten and therefore only ever around in the "Oh hi honey, I'm off to work, here's some money, be nice to the babysitter, bye!" sense. So she's basically craving attention because she gets none from her family. She picks on blank flanks as a way of making herself feel more important.

Going to agree with [Adventure][Shipping] not sure about [Dark] since I'm not quite sure what that means.
Unless if you know easy split points, splitting it seems unnecessary and like too much work.

Favorite line by far is "Girls, girls, please. You're both pretty!" by The Doctor. And on that note I'll leave people who haven't read it yet wondering how the hell it can be pertinent to this story.

In terms of chapters, this thing is a beast, and needs to be broken up. At the very least, add page numbers to it. Not everyone can read, what was it, 60/70 pages? Not everyone can read that many pages in one go, so breaking it up into 10-20 paged intervals would probably be for the best. I'd have to reread it to see where is best (and I will at some point when I have a few hours of free time), but off the top of my head something like this:

Section 1: up until Soarin gets knocked unconscious, directly before he first meets Apllejack
Section 2: Them being reunited, fight with Scorpan. End with everyone screaming and transforming back into their normal forms (might want the screaming to be the end and the transformation to be the beginning of the next part)
Part 3: Discussion with Scorpan up through first encounter with Tirek (where AJ gets transformed)
Part 4: Soarin chasing Tirek, breaking the clouds, and perhaps even up to the use of the Elements.
Part 5: The ending

Once I get around to reading it again, I'll probably have better breaking points.

I'll admit though, my mind works weird in that, if something would take me 30 minutes, I balk at it and avoid it, but if I see the same thing broken up into two 15 minute sections, I do it with gusto.

The problem is, just stacking nouns doesn't work here. In English it sounds ambiguous, but if any way to interconnect the words works, the whole phrase is OK. In Russian it's just word salad without any logic, so you need to know the unrderlying logical connections of the phrase (that exist in the English phrase, but are implied instead of reflected in writing) before translating. And you need to decide, is it in the end an Adjutant or a System? It can't be both, unless you want your plot be centered around the conflict of two facets. Then you've got artistic licence to name it whatever necessary for the plot.
