Erfworld 13: Discussion thread
Efdup
It may hint that dirtomancers make "dirt" golems. Seems they may be real muckrakers. Bogroll may have been a prodigy had he studied among them.
Discuss please.

Re: Erfworld 13: Discussion thread
Well, that certainly answered a question I had in mind a while ago:
OK, life gives you lemons, you make lemonade; but what if all you get is a load of crap?
Poor Sizemore.
I can imagine why nobody would want to fight a Crap Golem, though.Last edited by TheAnimal; 2007-01-04 at 06:55 AM.

Certainly not at melee range...or downwind. And let us hope they don't take a page from the monkey handbook.
My .sig fits very well with the idea of a Crap Golem.Last edited by TheTick; 2007-01-02 at 08:02 AM. Reason: to make a Tick reference

Re: Erfworld 13: Discussion thread
To me, that 350k shmucker spell looks like a blue generic battery!
However, back to the comic...I did give a little giggle at that masked wrestler in panel 4.Characters I am playing as at the moment:

Well that explains the mystery of the dirtmancers. Good work as always

Re: Erfworld 13: Discussion thread
I'm reminded of the demon from Dogma.
I think I'm going to try only reading the pages every couple of weeks (if I can manage to not look at them when they're new) - I find myself wanting more story at a time! Then again maybe I should content myself with staring at the pretty art...

I don't get the Tower of Efdup joke.
Is it supposed to be a joke?

Re: Erfworld 13: Discussion thread
OK, did anyone else note a curiosity of the artwork, perhaps even a bit of symbolism, in the first panel? Wanda's in shadow, but Sizemore is in a small pool of light (presumably filtering through the trees). Interesting....
Oh, yes, and the transporter room was a nice touch.

Re: Erfworld 13: Discussion thread
You never know. Someone already caught my super sentai reference with the five colored dwagons. There are bits and pieces of other references that I've stuck here and there that Rob doesn't even recognize so who knows. There might be room in the Magic Kingdom for AZM cameos.

Re: Erfworld 13: Discussion thread
Hmmm ... a blown up version of that panel would be quite nice. Maybe I should have posted this in the Blowing up Erfworld thread. Meh. Still hoping to see the panel with the heavies blown up too
Poor Bogroll! So much saddness in that ... one ... eye.
Can anyone explain the Grand Abbie reference? I went back to look at the Hippiemancer comic and I still couldn't quite make the connection.Hacking things to bits with an ax for fun and profit

Re: Erfworld 13: Discussion thread
Ok what happened between 12 and 13? It looked like she fell off of her griffon (oh sorry a gwiffon) but then in 13 she's just walking around all fine...

Re: Erfworld 13: Discussion thread
Axorcist, I think "Grand Abbie" comes from the title of "Grand Abbot" or "Grand Abbess" but the Hippiemancers are informal enough to leave it as the common nickname "Abbie."

Re: Erfworld 13: Discussion thread
I might be wrong, but I assumed it was a reference to Abbie Hoffman, leading hippie political figure and author of "Steal This Book". As he was a leader of the hippie movement, the leaders of the hippiemancers would be named after him.

Re: Erfworld 13: Discussion thread
The transporter is funny, but I suppose it's not really for teleporting, because they use the green portal. It's probably some scanning/intrusion detection/desintegrating device. Otherwise anyone can just walk into Stanley's castle from the Magic Kingdom like that, right?

Re: Erfworld 13: Discussion thread
First page! Whoo!
Really liked this one. Especially the portal/star trek transporter.
Random question: do they have lemonmacers in Erfworld? To make lemonade golems or elementals when life gives them lemons?
