Linda Mann continues to struggle, but is not likely to get free from a robot and a dragon. What she does manage to do is toss something from her pocket towards the back of the tent. Something suspiciously grenade shaped.

Magbot on the other hand, lets go of Linda to jump on the grenade-like object. So brave.

Linda gets jerked back, shadow shield goes up, and Magbot 2.0 goes leaping for the grenade. The shadow shield slows the Magbot, so he isn't able to fully block the grenade. He could have been turned into Magbot 0.5 plus shrapnel, or the shield wall may have protected him from getting terribly damaged.

The tent catches fire, but all the PCs can make it out safely with the prisoner if they don't dawdle. Minor injuries may have occurred.

But Elkie wouldn't insult her, so she accepts the comment with a mildly confused look, and answers the second bit instead.

"Hmm, somewhere quiet and secluded. Somewhere there won't be any brawls, or battles. Somewhere no-one will appear to drag you away from me again. Somewhere surrounded in nature. Unfortunately I don't know anywhere quite like that." She frowns. A shame. It sounded lovely.

Well, I guess Magbot 0.75 counts. I mean... he can still move at least. If walking in awkward ellipses counts as moving. I wouldn't count on him holding onto any prisoner anymore though, so Gordon's probably needed.

Winston doesn't want to be around here much longer, but he also is wary about jumping into SPGTs he's never seen before. "What's that?"

Magbot 0.75 doesn't have Winston's hesitation and walks around awkwardly until he manages to align his path into it and go through. Takes a little while though.

"It's a shadow-portal. Perfectly safe. I've been doing it for years," Michalson says. He'll wait for everyone else to pass through the portal before doing so himself, as it closes behind him.

The party leaves the forest. The burning tent continues to burn, until it reaches the little stash of explosives near the pylon.

*BOOM*

The Riftline escapes with no damage. The explosives hadn't been properly placed, and there weren't enough of them to do the job anyway. But its a good job the party got out when they did.

Also a good job it rained recently, so the fire doesn't spread far enough to be a disaster.

[Beach Party]

On a beach near Inside there seems to be a group of people having a party on the beach. A large pile of firewood is set up for a later bonfire and nearby a band is setting up to play. Several people are out swimming in the ocean with a few surfing as well.

There also seems to be group of people with motorcycles seeming to be getting ready to do some racing. People are doing some last minute tinkering with their bikes to get them ready now. There also seems to be a group of people taking bets and getting a few "official" races.

The party is in full swing at this point. Several people have started cooking with a bunch of grills they have set up. The band seems to be getting set up at this point as well.

The motorcycle races have started and they race up and down the beach.

The roaring can wait for a moment. Damon is confident the darkness will keep him hidden from whatever it is that's roaring up there...assuming it even is hostile.

Time for some more shapeshifting!

Damon quickly takes the form of the tree-like demon and lashes out with his tentacles, seeking to get a grip on the pit lord and hold him in place to let the fire do its work. "You try to flee? There iss no esscape from me. Sstay with me in the darknesss ass the fire conssumess you!"

Valente hugs her back after a moment of hesitation. "Thanks. I'm not sure what I'd have done without you." He's still not sure what he's going to do now, but at least he has support.

The pit lord takes flight rather quickly, but Damon should still be able to grapple it even after shape changing. But the instance he holds on to it's feet it spins around and attempts to cut off the tentacle with it's sword which is supernaturally sharp.

Meanwhile Damon should be able to feel a draft coming from above. Feels like something is descending...

Astrana returns the hug with some hesitation. They had to talk about this later, the question was if either of them could handle it. "It's okay, let's just find a place for you to stay for now."

Unfortunately, the room is devoid of hiding places besides the no longer invisible chest. There might be something of use through one of the door-portals, however.

Cass sighs and decides to take the pyramid with her through the mahogany door. Maybe it's safer in her hands than in the open.

Through the mahogany door Cassidy will discover a large chamber with three doors leading away. This main chamber, however, is a laboratory, with a workbench against one wall and scattered liberally with wands, cogs, springs, gears and tools. Some of the tools are rather mundane; others are clearly enchanted- either made of solid crystal or another unusual material, glowing slightly, or scuttling across the worktop on many articulated legs, each ending with a different sized screwdriver. In the centre of the room is a large, white table with four chains leading to a currently-open manacle. The table's very clean, though a nearby rack of knives, wands, and strange implements that seem vaguely surgical stands nearby- as with the worktop tools, some of these are also enchanted, though none seem capable of self-locomotion. On the walls are more racks of tools, surgical implements and also diagrams- some of anatomy, some of constructs like the monkeys and some of them describe the necessary processes for enchanting swords, guns, clothing and armour, amongst other, stranger articles.

The laboratory isn't much interest to Cass. On another day, she'd probably steal the more valuable-looking objects, but she's actually here for a reason now. Instead, she heads through walks to the leftmost door and opens it, keeping her SMG at the ready.

Through the left door is a long corridor flanked on either side by ten heavy oak doors reinforced with steel beams. A small barred window enables somebody to see into the cell beyond. The nearest cell is on the right, the second nearest on the left, and they continue alternating in that manner the rest of the way down the corridor. At the end of the corridor is a solid stone wall carved directly from the unyielding stone of wherever this part of the tower is; the door was a portal through space, after all; this could be anywhere.

Cass paces down the corridor, opening each door as she goes. She should've figured this tower would be huge; this was going to take a while.

All of the doors are locked, unfortunately. Behind are a number of similar cells carved of unadorned rough stone, each containing a flat shelf covered in blankets, an orb of sickly blue light and a small grate in the floor. Most cells also contain a prisoner or captive, which may or may not be alive, and may or may not be decomposing regardless of the answer to the previous question. Most notable are a cluster of giant snails huddled together in the corner of their cell, each inside its cell, a muscular, red-skinned horned humanoid bound in chains of solid iron; resting nearby is a large, two-handed sword, a bubbling mass of ever-changing flesh and an angelic creature whose legs, arms and wings have been turned into stone; it's weeping tears of mercury. The cells are either empty or contain something which is either dead or very good at pretending to be dead.

Cass passes by each cell without interest. She turns around and heads back for the central laboratory and then the middle door. She grumbles to herself all thus while.

Through the middle door is a large chamber resembling an ancient, dilapidated temple. Along each side of the room are tall columns, most of which have fallen down, and all that remains of the pews are the marks on the ground of where they once were. At the far end is a vast mosaic, missing too many tiles to determine exactly what it once depicted, but it's mostly blue, green and purple. Beneath the mosaic is an altar upon which rests a human child wearing a dusty blue silk tunic and a silver collar to which he is chained to the altar. The child appears dead, although closer inspection reveals his chest rising up and down.
