Simple survival my friend. I've only this money in my left hand to offer you as compensation. Please, take it, or the honor of my homeworld will be undermined.
He looks at Fengris hopefully, and waits his reply. He also makes a listening check for anything else.

Taking a 10 for insight not fully believing the changeling (that makes insight = 20) but the dwarf accepts back the money.
"There are better methods for survival, and stealing in the first place isn't too honorable. Why don't you tell me the whole sorry tale that put you out in the middle of nowhere in the first place."
Nodding in understanding about one finding ones place in their homeland, "Very well, if you can stay on the up and up; You may be able to find some help with us. But that also means no stealing. Think you can handle that?"
"So a thief got through while we were sleeping then.... great... I feel much safer knowing that the half-pint of a halfling can't even do proper guard duty... surprised I haven't woken up with a slit throat yet..,"
LaGouf then eyes Ott
"Wait a minuite... if you passed by our guard... then how did you get caught... and more importantly who befriended you?"

Nods somewhat "Aye, I said we'd try to help him out, if he watched his step. And someone who could sneak into camp could be useful for where we're going."
"So when ever you are caught you simply return the money and expect to get away with it? Nice trick... though I'm honestly surprised you haven't lost a hand yet when caught by the city guards...."
Turning to Fengris he says
"Now tell me... do you honestly trust him?"

LaGouf simply keeps his arms crossed and gives Ott a cold look.
"Very well... I'll concede the point this time... Fengris... be so kind as to inform Ott about where we are headed to... I'm going to go relieve our guard..."
LaGouf goes off to tell Karrik that he is replacing him earlier than was expected, mumbling to himself
"... no good lazy bums... if you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself..."
However, not before checking to see if all his money was still where it was supposed to be.

Retelling briefly their quest, "We're looking for an artifact in the blue desert, it is possibly in the ancient ruined city of Ch'Talla. Coming out of Silver City only a few days ago."
Ott nods. We'll at least we're not that far off. I'm not familar with this desert though. Only heard bits about it from the occasional passerby... How many leagues off are we?
He adjusts the short sword at his side, and then squats down, sitting on his haunches.

Shrugging a little bit, "It's a good question, I don't really know the answer how far away we have to go. One of the others may be able to answer in the morning."
Sleep sounds good about now Ott offers to keep watch the rest of the night, and draws his short sword. He paces around the camp, looks for a spot to watch from.

Many days pass, full of long travel and thirst. Eventually an oasis is reached, where a small swim and filling your bottles do you all some good. A kindly priest of Eldath was there, a man ho lived by the pool. He sent you off with some fruit and a few gems to aid you in your travels.
Eventually you reach a large ruin in the sands. It looks like a single tower, with a simple stair case leading to a room atop the tower. Its odd, but it looks like the room is illuminated form the inside, like a soft light it on in it.
These ruins are, you were told by the priest of Eldath, the ruins of Ch'Talla.
(Now, discuss among yourselves. I will admit, I'm following vRPG logic here. This is going to be a fun dungeon.)
Ott sees the tower, immediately stops where he's standing Let me prove my worth, friends. I'll sneak up to the tower, and see if any foes are guarding the entrance. Then I'll signal back to you all.
He pauses thoughtfully for a moment.
Wait, does anyone know of this tower?

LaGouf watches the ruins and tries to remember what he knows about this place
"Indeed this does seem to be what is left of Ch'Tala. The tower is the Temple of the Blue Panther and it is said that within the caverns of the ruin, we may stumble upon a city. What we might find in there... I can't really tell...."

Kari, her memory jogged by LaGouf's explanation, added to his information. "Apparently, the whole city can still be found if we go deep enough, though I don't think it'll be that easy. The warforged explorer who sent the message about this back wasn't heard from again. If there's anything in these caverns, it's probably not friendly."
Well, we've strength in numbers. I say we go in, find this city and figure out what happened to the artificer. And hey, his implements wouldn't be bad, either. Ott smirks, and waits for the others to express their views.

"I don't know... you might not have seen our battle earlier, but some of us were getting hurt, and we didn't even manage to kill all of the attackers. One ran away! Imagine what could have happened if he didn't! I might not be standing here discussing it with you."
Ott walks up to the base of the tower, (if no other party members stop him). He then carefully progresses up the stairs, until he is near the top. Then, he waits for a quick moment, to survey the surrounding area.

Reason: Forgot to put in roll tags... :P
A sot blue light fills the top of the tower. A rat can be seen going towards a small hole in the ground and falling down it, only to fly back up nose first. It continues to do this over the hole, flying like a fish swims. The hole is about a troll's width across, and seems to go down for a long time.
Nothing is in the top of the tower save a few rocks, a bird and that flying rat, and the odd blue glow that seems to be coming from the flying hole.
