Camelot WW 1 - The Sword in the Stone (Game on!)
Camelot Werewolf 1:
The Sword in the Stone
Narrated By: Lostlittlebear
Co-narrated By: Lex-kat
Dear Lords and Ladies,
As I am sure you have all already heard, Lord Uther Pendragon, our dearest king, passed away last week after accidentally poisoning himself in a tragic cooking accident involving a Saxon cook, three roasted geese, and large amounts of deadly nightshade. Our lovely Saxon neighbors have signaled their condolences by personally delivering a large sum of gold to my door, and dispatching a funeral delegation of twenty thousand fully armed men, who are crossing the Channel even as I write these words. If our Saxon neighbors should visit your estate, please welcome them with traditional British hospitality, and forgive them for some of their stranger customs. I have it on good authority raping and pillaging is the sign of highest respect in Saxon culture.
But the purpose of this letter is more than just to convey stale news. It has come to my attention that our dear King has left a will, in which he has designated his heir. Unfortunately, the poor man must have been growing senile in his old age, for he has decided to leave his kingdom to the man who can pull the Sword from the Stone.
Yes... THAT SWORD... THAT STONE.
I know what you all are thinking. We’ve all tried our hand at yanking that sword from it’s tenacious setting, but no one, not even the strongest man amongst, has succeeded. Thankfully, I’ve come up with a solution to our little problem. Our new Archbishop, Sir Thomas Gladwell (the post was vacated after the previous Archbishop accidentally eviscerated himself in a shaving accident), has advised me that he has suddenly remembered a binding legal principle set down by the founders of our realm: all royal decrees left unconsummated after 90 days are rendered null and void. 90 days might seem a bit long, but it’s better than nothing, and I have a gut feeling that we’ll be changing our Archbishop in a few days time.
Which leads me to the point of this letter, or rather, invitation. I propose that you, the highest nobles of our realm, gather in London two months hence. Together, we will wait for the expiry of the 90-day deadline, after which we will elect a king of our own choosing, from amongst our own ranks. I trust this is a solution amenable to you all.
Nevertheless, I suspect that amongst you there lie individuals with unlawful urges, and have taken precautions according. A handpicked group of knights have been chosen to guard the Sword with their lives. Anyone attempting to lay hands on the Sword before the deadline is up will be cut down by these vicious war-machines. The King of Scotland and the King of Wales have also been invited to be witnesses, and they come with a full complement of armed man. Of course, all of us will be disguised, so leave your assassins at home, they won’t do you any good.
See you in two months! And to do a bit of pre-emptive campaigning, I promise to give all those who vote for me a vial of my secret antidote.
What antidote, you ask? Why the antidote for the poison on this letter, of course. Surely you noticed its unusual bluish tinge? Do not fear, the poison probably won’t take effect until three months from now – but in case it does, it was nothing personal.
Yours truly,
Sir Parum Tolero
Lord High Chamberlain of Britain
(P.S. If you see a decrepit old man called Merlin wandering around the city claiming to be a wizard, pay him no heed. He’s a charlatan and fraud that couldn’t tell a cantrip from a cowslip. And he certainly can’t cure you of the poison.)
Wolf Rules:Spoiler
Group Kill and Suppression Points
SpoilerEach night, every Arthurian sends a PM to the narrators with a vote for the person they would like to kill that night. The person with the highest number of votes is killed. In case of a tie, the narrators will roll a die to decide who dies. If the wolves target one of their own, or the target is baned, the kill fails. They are not told why the kill fails.
If they so wish, Arthurians may instead choose to suppress their vote. This gains them one Suppression Point, which they may use to activate special powers. Arthurians who do not send in their PM by the end of the night are assumed to be suppressing their vote.
If more than 50% of Arthurians suppress their vote, no kill takes place that night.
Arthur (Beast)
SpoilerIf Arthur is lynched, a Random Person from the lynch mob is killed. He can be night-killed normally. Starts off knowing Merlin.
Suppression Power (Assassin):
For 3 points, Arthur may use an extra unblockable night-kill
Merlin (Vortex)SpoilerEvery other night, Merlin may select two people: a target and a dummy. In the next day phase, each point at the dummy is transferred instead to the target. Starts off knowing Arthur.
Suppression Power (Disguiser/Dominator):
For 1 point, Merlin may change the appearance of an individual. For the rest of the night, anyone scrying the individual will see a role of Merlin’s choice.
For 3 points, Merlin may choose to befuddle an individual. Merlin dictates the results of the individual’s NEXT night action. This means that he can choose the result of a scry, change the subject of a bane, or switch the target of a night kill. Merlin has to declare what actions he wishes to take in his PM to the narrators. If the subject of his power does not possess the powers Merlin assumes he does, the power fails.
Sir Kay and Sir Ector (Devil)
SpoilerEach night, either Sir Kay or Sir Ector must PM the narrator with the name of an individual they want to scry. If either one of them is killed, this ability still functions, but can only be used every other night. Sir Kay and Sir Ector start off knowing each other.
Suppression Power (Daybaner):
For 4 points, Sir Kay and Sir Ector may prevent an individual from being lynched during the Day Phase. In order to do this, either one of them has to send the narrator a PM before the Day Phase with the individual’s name enclosed. The person with the second-highest number of votes is lynched instead. Their pool of Suppression Points is shared.
Arthurian Sympathizers (2-4, depending on game size):SpoilerThey have no special powers, and start off blind.
Suppression Power (Alpha)
For 1 point, they scry as a villager for that night.
Good Guy Rules:Spoiler
Guardians of the Sword (Masons):
SpoilerThey start off knowing one another. There will be 3-5 of them, depending on game size.
Archbishop (Seer)SpoilerEvery night phase, he may choose someone to scry. Starts off blind.
Drunken Deacon (Fool)SpoilerEvery night phase, he may choose someone to scry, but is given a random response. Thinks he is the Archbishop. Starts off blind.
The King of Wales (Baner)SpoilerEach night, he may choose someone to protect from night kills. Arthur’s extra night kill can bypass his protection. Starts off blind.
The King of Scotland (Sniper)SpoilerDuring the night phase he may choose someone to night kill. This skill has a three night cooldown and may be subject to Merlin’s interference. Starts off blind.
Dissenting Nobles (Villager)SpoilerThey have no special powers.
General Rules:SpoilerAuto-lynches happen on the THIRD DAY without a point.
Helgraf’s Scry Inteference is in effect.
All Night Actions should be sent to BOTH narrators.
Roleplaying is encouraged – as an added bonus, when you sign up you may tell me how you would like your death scene to be written (either funny or serious, as well as any strange conditions you would like to incorporate). I shall try my best to oblige!
HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!

Re: Camelot WW 1 - The Sword in the Stone (Now Recruiting!)
I will join but have a couple of questions:
1) Will the Arthurians know how many supression points they have avaliable?
2) What happens if more than one Arthurian tries to use a supression ability but there is not enough points to do both abilities?

Re: Camelot WW 1 - The Sword in the Stone (Now Recruiting!)
Suppression points are allocated player-by-player, so you will know how many Suppression points you have available. You may only spend your own Suppression points, unless you are Sir Kay or Sir Ector, who spend from a shared pool.

You can play if you want, Lexie!
My schedule's freed up a lot recently, and since there are no secret roles in this game you don't have an information advantage over other players.

Re: Camelot WW 1 - The Sword in the Stone (Now Recruiting!)
You cant plan it yet! that just mean!
Edit: If i remember correctly the last game was just before the last battle with Arthur son by incest Mordrod ehich is strangly enough towards the end, while the sword in the stone is fairly early on in the Arthurian legends, Though a game set up about Arthur's conception would be amusing.
